Antibirth feels perfect in comparison to Rebirth.

The biggest fucking annoyance in Rebirth is that you feel like you're punished for being unlucky. In Antibirth there's a lot more ways to counterbalance a shitty run, especially since you can spend some resources to get into the new side areas giving you a choice of two items instead of one. Plus Angel Rooms are actually worth skipping devil deals this time around thanks to a really great pool of items.

The bosses in the new areas are also tuned really well; they don't feel like dumb HP sponges and come with fun but reactable movesets. My only complaint is Hornfel, which is harder to fight if you have more non-traditional tear sets.

Yes. It gives you a really curt overview of what each Proof (good/evil/neutral/one I haven't found yet) does before you buy it.
Then it gives you a short description of what each Faction is good at before you buy their Treaty.
You can only access up to 3 Factions at a time after picking a Treaty.

It works, but it's tedious as shit until you get the ability to hold multiple trinkets and even then you're going to be grinding shit out for a long ass time until you find an easier break.

Not really. It's hard to say what the "most" broken combination in Isaac is considering how many ways there are to make losing virtually impossible and the nature of the game means you'll almost never get exactly what you want. Most broken/fun combination would probably be Sharp Plug + Void with Blank Card, Yum Heart, and Mama Mega + The Wafer + Chaos Card.

But Void got nerfed so Mama Mega won't really work with it so I don't know.

I figured since I was on the second-last floor, I already had a guaranteed won run, and I was just a bit short of becoming Guppy, I would take the devil deal to get the two items I was missing.

Turns out that since Backasswards takes away 1 heart every floor, I've just screwed myself out of winning the run, because if I try to go up I die and respawn.

Coming back to this, Yum Heart + Sharp Plug + Wafer for infinite charges with 0 effort actually won't work. You'll get a charge from leaving the room and Sharp Plug only works on items with empty charge meters.

I think a better combination that *might* work on Delirium is Placebo + Plan C + Smelter in Void + Missing Poster + 48 Hour Energy. Not sure if there's anything that can keep Plan C from killing you so you can get wins as anyone except the Lost with this.

Got my literal favorite item in polyphemus, then the menorah, and then I saw Libra and had to see what it did. Turns out: crazy strong tears and the fire rate penalty for menorah completely removed

I also had Antigrav tears so I could just make a ball of death that completely annihilated any boss, like it legitimately one-shot M-Satan.

I went back and did a purist run (already beat it years ago), it's pretty much impossible in 2017 unless you luck out with a basement mom's knife/brimstone devil deal because now there's enemies on the caves that take about 20 hits each, bravo edmund

FTL. No question. Don't get me wrong, I do love me some Isaac, but FTL was, at least for me, always a game that was a cut above the rest. It's given me more joy than almost any other game I've played, with just about the finest mod I've ever played (Captain's Edition), and was basically my dream video game to begin with.

There's nothing more depressing than having a shitload of dmg, hp, firerate and all kinds of cool items like 9inch nails and seeing how fucking pathetic it all is when you grind against ultra greed only to see his health bar inch down once an hour.

That's weird. I was playing Lazarus, killed the Lamb and did a victory lap. In the second run I went against the Lamb again and before asking me if I want to do a victory lap (again) I unlocked the achievement. If the second win on a victory lap isn't what's needed, I don't know what triggered it for me.

I was doing a maggy run, I had to finish up hush and mega satan, and I scrounged up a pretty powerful run. Thing was I only managed to get one key piece. Such was life, I beat hush made it to the chest.

Lucky me, I found a secret room with the angel in it. Sweet I thought, I'll be able to get mega satan, thanks game. Lo and behold, no key piece for me. I was salty about that, but meh, I got hush at least.

And then the run ended and I noticed I was on normal mode, not hard. How that happened I have no idea, but I tell you, the salt amplified tenfold.

On the bright side, I won my first greedier mode. golden greed is a lot easier once you get used to his jump pattern, just move towards where he jumped, and avoid the falling bombs.

You know, a lot of people were really upset at the Blastocyst Death Room when AB+ launched, but l've been looking at the tools for building rooms, and I can see exactly how it happened.

The icon on the left is the icon for "Spawn a Large Blastocyst here" and the icon on the right is the icon for "Spawn a Small Blastocyst here."

The small Blastocyst icon looks like the bigger one because of the animation cycle, so if you were building many, many rooms, it would be very easy to accidentally click the wrong one.

I mean, for example, I can change one number here from hp=250 to hp=200 and now Ragman isn't a pain in the ass anymore.

If I want a new enemy, I just create a new line with a new entity id, assign appropriate stats, and finally just add it to the distribution lists for room. It's dead simple.

You might run into some issues with load order though where some shit in antibirth being built on Rebirth shit that was changed for Afterbirth complicates shit. You'd basically have to redo anything like that from the ground up.

Another thing is you only ever get one item at a time from angel rooms, unless you're Isaac and re-roll the key piece. Often times you can get multiple good items from a single devil deal. Black hearts and items like the Pact, Ceremonial Robes, and Abaddon make the health cost even more insignificant that it already was and can often give you a net gain in spirit hearts.
