He used to be the entire point of the deck before they decided to make Discard marginally less of a meme, but he's way too easy to remove and easily leads to decking yourself out, especially when used in tandem with Dragoon. He's like Bahamut if Bahamut didn't clear the board and instead ran yourself towards a cliff.

He's not too bad, though. Has potential as a 1 or 2 of to force an answer out of the enemy, but Dragoon is more reliable and should still be the main wincon.

You give up Nep consistency to have a better all around game. Instead of needing Nep to finish off games she ends up being a decent T8 drop that can give you the little swing you need. Sometimes she doesnt draw out a Mord, but you dont need that Mord to finish off because youre not playing from behind constantly.

Turns out you dont need consistent Neps when you dont gimp your deck around the card. The nips already figured this out and its why theyre winning tournaments with the deck.

Khawy was an incredible boost to slow Shadow strategies. Shadow has always had good tools against small aggro deck, but Shadow's 5-7 is weak which means midrange can over run you with power plays. Cerberus is a value play that kills your tempo, and everything else is inconsistent like Ceridwen, Charon and Lord of the Flies. Only Death's Breath was really good but it wasn't enough. Khawy buys you the means to actually survive and put Mordecai out against other decks.
