I specified a good widow. Obviously I know better than to pop up right in her sightline, but your boosters aren't that quiet so flanks aren't 100% effective. Plus super sneaky flank pharah is fairly time consuming so you may spend too much time dealing with a widow while your team gets picked apart. I'm not entirely disagreeing, but I'm fairly certain that widow still counters pharah pretty well.

A good widow can't do shit if they're busy raping your team and you catch her from behind.

Yes flanking takes time but it's rewarded by being able to rape the enemy team from behind counter-free as you focused them first.

Pharah is definitely not a class for the ADHD like alot of the roster, everything about her rewards patient thought out play;

>low fire rate, clip size and relatively small blast radius (compared to other explosives) Forces you to shoot carefully and get them direct hits which let you 2/3 shot anyone who isn't a tank

Tldr; Dont rush, fly fast and erratically, shoot slowly and controlled

Soldier is definitely a better counter than widow as he has a higher chance to survive a surprise attack.

Widow is a good counter, but Soldier is stupidly good. Soldier is borderline OP at this point since he can spray without worry about ammo and his damage output is better than, I think, literally all other damage heroes.

The thing with Widow is, she can line up a shot predicting your movement, and kill you. Or, you can move "erratically" which slows you down enough for her to just move her sights over onto you. Assuming she's any good.

They counter each other though. It's easy enough to fly around the skirts of the map and get behind a Widow.

Hey guys, honestly how long did you guys take to climb into higher ratings?

I just started comp a few days ago and haven't even managed to climb even to plat after being placed in gold. Trying to improve my skills the best I can but my teams keep getting steamrolled. Not like we barely lost or won, eveything is either a fucking steamroll we lose or a slaughter we win. It's almost never in between and it's almost perfectly 50/50

Is this normal to not make any progress at all? Even with dota I could rise a bit, fall, just make some progress in some direction. But for Overwatch I'm not going anywhere. I've just been stuck in the same 2300-2400 range despite three dozen matches.

She really don't need any sweeping changes other than the heal being removed from her ice block. Mei is too self-sufficient for a defense class because of her invincible contest and heal.

Simply removing the heal would make her a lot more manageable and eliminate a lot of the annoyances that make Mei Mei.

A terrible side effect of this system is that when your team does great and doesn't take damage, your healer is going to be completely fucked because they are going to appear to be doing nothing, when in reality it is because there was no damage to heal.

She was horrible back then because of her movement speed while firing. She was a hero who needed to be at close range to do damage, but anyone she approached just needed to walk backwards to get away. They're probably waiting to get the story in gear first - especially since Junkrat and Roadhog are two of the handful of characters who already got a comic and they aren't doing anything really plot-critical right now, I don't think we'll be seeing them again any time soon. There's also the possibility that Blizzard is planning on releasing an animation for them alongside an Australia/Junkertown map like they did with Eichenwalde and the Last Bastion, and Kaplan (or one of the other devs) mentioned really wanting to do that one justice so it'll probably take a while to get out.
