A question for those who finished VI in english. I played the Japanese version a few years ago. On it after seeing the true end you would unlock the "Absurd Mode (無茶苦茶モード)". By activating it you get everyone back as playable (Urza, Rick, etc) and everyone new level cap is the same as Rance (999 I believe?). Also you unlock some extra challenge battles with quite stronger version of enemies like the demons.

Is it also in the english version? I didn't see anyone commenting about it. After seeing the true ending once, load a save just before, should be on the last options on the event list.

Rather than a mistake, It's a choice of making almost every character optional to recruit and also possible to die at any time. So because they never know what was the characters composition of someone at each event in the main story, they couldn't have those characters participate on it.

One way to "solve" a bit it to like Daiteikoku, have a true ending / route where you can only reach if you made some choices and recruited some characters. That way those characters can be part of the ending while also letting the players play with who they want and do what choices they want for most of the game.

That's what I did. I played Sengoku when it came out but only true route. Then I played it last year and 100% + I watched 01 OVA as it was coming out. After playing 5D and 6, I played through all the games chronologically and really enjoyed it.
Except for III, but that was due to me having the buggy version, and the first half was still pretty fun.
