Don't really care much for it, but since Rock left with Kain it makes me wonder if Rock would end up doing some less than cool things and be confronted by Terry. Maybe some older versions of FF characters would be cool as well as some of the characters from the scrapped sequel in addition to the already established characters. Why didn't we get an OVA for Fatal Fury 3, anyway? Seems like a missed opportunity. I would have traded the AOF and SamSho OVAs for that in a heartbeat.

I'd like to see how Rock's alliance with Kain plays out, se Gato get some closure with his old man, and the plan to have a female apprentice of Joe's would show off a more responsible side of him that hasn't really been featured even if he's absent.

I'd also like to see the results of Chonrei's training under Kim and Tung from the RB2 endings, but maybe that'd be harder to fit in the story, although not in the timeline.


Gameplay-wise, I wasn't a fan of limiting some attacks to TOP mode, but choosing part of thebar to have regenerating health was interesting enough to keep.

I also wonder if they'd change regenerating health from Just Defend into having it raise the power bar, as it happened in other games - maybe raising HP when the power bar's already full.

I'd like that, it seems like a good way to bring them back. They should keep some of their moves, though. I always got a laugh out of the fact that their ancient fighting style includes a rolling cradle - it makes the handful of wrestlers in the Fatal Fury series seem less out of place.

Part of me wants to say that too, but despite not liking it mobile is getting an even bigger share of the gaming pie as time goes by. I spent money on Rythm of fighters, shit was fun, if this turns out good I wouldn't mind giving it a try. I wouldn't automatically pass on it since it's on mobile. Even people in the shittiest of third world places have smartphones even if they're cheap ones, so it's a huge market. As long as SNK doesn't solely focus on that and forgets its old IPs I'm fine with it.

His design didn't have a big impact at first, but I started to like him more and more with time. I like the fact that he have an arrogant attitude like the other KOF protagonists, but at the same time seems to be more calm and a good boy. He also have interesting connections with other characters, like Terry and Kyo as his senpais; Tung being friends with Chin, Athena and Kensou; his win quote with Mian was cute and his friendship with Meitenkun. My guess is that he'll have problems to control his powers in the future games, so maybe he'll have some devil/riot of blood form or something like that.

About the mobile RPG, it's funny to think that not that long ago everyone was like "oh shit I bet that the new SNK game is another pachinko trash!" and I'm glad we are over it.

SNK is just the weirdest company in Japan. It's so apparent that they still are used to the 16-bit(/'24'-bit) ways of making games, because they had to skip two whole generations. The new logo sound is exactly their old one but in higher fidelity. I'm convinced that they first make these games comparable for the good ol' Neo Geo, and then high def it.

I'm not sure that's fair. Back in their prime they worked with full bands as well as midi stuff, so as far as their music is concerned, they haven't had to change much. I think it's more like they're able to fall back into their old ways when they want to.

The best part of Another Day.

Looking back, I think the best game ADK made for the NeoGeo is either Magician Lord or Twinkle Star Sprites. TSS is really good, and something I still play to this day, but the arcade version of ML really stands out from the rest of the early Neo Geo titles.

Generally, when a game gets a console bundle months after release, that's a good sign. That usually happens when the the game itself is popular. China's really strict about where and how many consoles can be sold, so I don't think Sony could afford to piss retailers off by forcing a bundle onto them.

thing is rigid body physics especially in 3d (and this is from personal experience) is not something so easy to program without expecting some kind of frame drops

even if you group elements together, it just becomes O(n logn) best case instead of O(n*m) and that's only a slight improvement with a worst case of having to test surface to surface collisions of triangles within the same object as well, and keep in mind you also have to test simultaneous collisions and find a solution that involves no clipping at any configuration/orientation of a surface or attached surfaces, and often times that requires an estimated initial collision time and reacting to the collision on that by calculating new physics from an intermediate time between frame 0 and the next frame, and if there's a new found collision there, lather rinse repeat the above until you get the final point of the surface(s)

by the way, the above is sort of like a bisection method algorithm (simple algorithm used to guess roots) but used for solving relative initial collision points of surfaces

Sometimes they get actual seiyuu and VA's for example the chick who did Yuri in XIV is also the VA for pic related. The system voice is also done by max powers who has done voiceovers for ads, voiced the foreign guy in Kabaneri and I think some live action stuff. The guy is literally a gaijin living the gaijin dream. Sylvie's VA, according to her twitter, has her own radio show, is an MC, voices a variety show's mascot and sings. Then there's Ichiki he's a fan and seiyuu (fuck those who bullied him during the Kokoro connect incident also Kanemoto a shit for rubbing it in), he doesn't currently have a role in the game, but he will for the arcade version (it won't be a character).

In short I suppose they just put out ads and choose between whoever answers them.
