Recently started playing HoI IV and I'm mildly confused.

I'm playing as the Peoples Republic of China and I joined the Comintern. For some reason the war between Axis and Comintern never happened, yet there were no alliances or anything like that either.

But for some reason, axis and Comintern troops are just moving freely through each others territories. When I try to invade pesky nations to add to my comradery, Germany will move up divisions and join in on the fighting and then I have to split the gains with them! Why?

Are there any downsides to imprisoning most of your direct vassals after rebellions and keep them in dungeon indefinitely in CK2?

They can't join factions that way and if I need quick loan, I just ransom one or two of them.

I even started to provoking them if they don't rebel for a long period of time, since that way I get get some new prisoners in place of older, dying ones.

I haven't done a provid one yet. I have to figure a good method for displaying the ids of small provinces. I've only done regions, cultures, RGOs, RGO changes, religions, terrain, and life rating of uncolonized provinces. I can't remember if I finished the unclaimed cores one

I worked off of a vanilla based one and redrew what was necessary but starting from scratch isn't too hard depending on how neat you want it.

It would make perfect sense to allow you to colonize anything in vic2 as well, but vic2 is bad, and the developers don't care as much anymore, so they don't update the game to fit with the newer game eu4. I already know much of the history on colonialism, and my point is that it should be allowed to colonize wherever you want in both of those games. Why not in vic2? Because vic2 is outdated and old The developers has forgotten about it. When they figured most of Africa should be allowed to colonize in eu4, they forgot about vic2 because who gives a damn anymore about that game. Not to say that this is my attitude towards vic2, but that's where I imagine the developers mind is at - they want to involve themselves with the new games which more people care about.

Where are my doctrines? I can't even start a focus because none of them are available, are they unlocked in an event later? I pirated the game so I probably don't have registry entries that make the official patchers work.

Other people have posted about having this same problem in the past but I haven't seen a solution. I suspect the best course will be to find each of those patches as an archive instead of an installer and then extract the archives onto the 3.01 installation.

So far I have found the 3.03 patch (but the spam system won't let me post the link for posterity)
