It might not even be that retarded since clannfear gets even more defenses, can tank at least one mob reliably, benefits from your ward, and can heal you instantly. It's mostly the taunting that bothers me, since pierce armor is instant, applies both fracture and breach, and costs way less than inner fire, and the ice heavy attack doesn't seem very viable considering how vulnerable it makes you. Maybe with hardened ward up you get a chance to heavy attack, but I don't know.

Thanks for changing the PC guilds to mail, though I think the PS4 guild at least should stay 'message'. While in-game mail is perfectly fine, I think it does only show up on one server (can't see EU mail while on NA and vice versa), and PSN messages can be checked offline too.

Pet sorc tanks are actually the best tanks around in one very peculiar situation; enraged enemies. An enraged flesh atronarch in vICP will instantly kill everyone and everything except your pets since they can't take more than 45% of their max health per hit.

This have lead to strange situations, such as having tanks in vWGT that's so shit that we were better off when my Twilight tanked her and didn't bother resurrecting the tank.

Don't listen to them, I run a "full heal" build and it's fun. My only damaging attacks are Restoration Staff heavy and Luminous Shards, which is more of a side effect than actually being used as an attack.

You don't have to spend 90% of the game solo'ing, just be a little sociable. Being a heal-slut without a tank to slut on sounds pretty boring anyway.

Just wear heavy and use s&s, stack resistances and mitigation, you could try using something like reactive armor set, since most ganker NBs will try to stun you this helps a lot, you do very little damage with a build like that though.

What can I do to see how much damage I deal with all my attribute points into stamina and then with 0 in stamina without having to respec it?

also increasing stamina gives your more weapon damage but its never reflected in your weapon damage stat right? It's some kind of invisible final damage stat or something?

I've bought the game while it was on sale, have been playing it throughout the holidays.

I rolled a Khajit Nightblade and have a couple of questions.

1) Melee skill animations look like shit. I watch my dragonknight comrades cast flashy flashthingies, and I am stuck with some blood-themed whatever.

2) Any tips for an archer? I've been using poison arrow + cripple as DoTs, strife for heal, and volley for AoE. I haven't unlocked the last skill yet (Snipe?).

3) Should I queue in random dungeons? I got in Banished Cells once, and the party was nearly obliterated on some boss chick with zappy spheres. Loot from the last boss is also meh.

4) Should I queue for PvP? I've heard there are zones with no >50lvl players, but I'm afraid that I don't have a lot of skills unlocked yet.

5) Should I try and unlock 2 traits for each item as quick as possible to be able to craft sets?

Overall, the game is pretty sweet, especially quest design. I've only seen a couple of maps so far, but it's been quite lovely.

Oh, and inventory/bank caps are retarded. And I think I've fucked up my trait leveling by researching useless traits. Also horse upgrades look like a scam.

nightblades require stealth if you go stamina. As stam class you will mostly use weapon skills and buff yourself or use finishers/stealth of your class.
NB is a pretty meh class for a first character, end game it's a fun gankers though.

Archery in its current form is just for dots and the order you get skillsbis shitty, snipe is your main damage skill and will be the first one to unlock in next patch, Zoe fucked upland they know it.

Do daily dungeons, loot is very good but very random. I dungeons are easy mode, II dungeons are hardmode.

You'll do fuck all in pvp either way as a new player, prepare your bow, join a zero and queue in a below 50 campaign.

Always have research going on.

There are no useless traits, you need a select number of traits to craft good gear.
Does not matter which.

Horse shit is a scam yes but nothing to do about it.

Crafting mats is tied to your level and your rank with the actual crafting skill. So if you're level 49 with no skill points invested in Metalworking you'll find both Iron Ore and Ebony Ore. Maybe location plays a small part but it seems to take the backseat compared to the other two.

Fairly easy, only dangerous mechanics are the ghost and the last boss.

Do not attack the boss when the ghost is linked to another player since they share damage.

An at the last boss, keep an eye on the background. If the braziers are getting lit with blue flames, get away from the middle. If the windows gets shattered, get into the middle.

That free weekend a bit back roped me in and I bought into the gold edition and have stuck around since. The issue with pets will always be one of control in this game. You have literally no control over it bar the abilities. I'm half tempted to say that it needs a pet bar of some sort, even if it's literally just a passive/aggressive/defensive setting along with a move/attack/stop set of commands. On top of this, ideally pets should only need to be on one bar to remain. To keep it balanced, you could have a timer that means if you don't switch back to the pet bar within X seconds (like 10) then it dies. Even the introduction of the decent pet abilities can't get around the fact that it's crippling having to have them on 2 bars.

Additionally, there needs to be a line of skills that introduces some form of pet for other classes. Sorcs can be the pet masters (and their traits could even benefit pets granted by additional spell lines) but if pets get a major rework then there needs to be some way for other classes to get one.

You have some control over them using the pet command key. For me, it's Y. Y+rmb = attack that target, Y+lmb = follow, don't attack. I barely see anyone use this, though. Might need a 'go to this spot' command, but other than that there is a reasonable amount of control. Double-baring is a pain, and I suppose I'd like a bit more utility on the clannfear. The heal is nice, but matriarch already does it, but better. Its damage is pretty low and it contributes very little to a group. Maybe something like being able to block or interrupt enemies.

The main issue I have is that no one really becomes attached to their character any more because alt culture is such a big thing in MMOs these days. Is your class shitty and you want to play the fotm? No problem you can just reroll a new character!

Back in the days of older MMOs, having alts was usually a big deal. Fuck I can remember playing UO and having only one character for years that started out as a fighter and eventually ended up a mage after I rejigged their skills The thought of rerolling andt making a new character to become a mage never even crossed my mind as I was so attached to that character.

I have a serious issue with creating alt characters (mostly for roleplay purposes), but in this game I'm heavily discouraged because of how long the leveling takes. Even though it dawned on me that I'd probably enjoy Templar more than my Nightblade, I'm still not switching because of how hefty a commitment it would be to grind all the way back up to where I left off.

While swapping roles would certainly be nice, I think the game handles itself fairly well in terms of balancing class with character attachment.

Is there any practical difference between swords and daggers?

I'm running a magicka nightblade so primarily using staffs but seems like dual wield has a lot of potential for semi-tank survivability build on the second bar that still does decent damage.

Skills are tied to your guilds, class and weapons. Skill points become scarce once you get to level 50.
Level up skills by equipping them in your hot bar. Level up weapon skills by equipping them before turning in quests and using them more.
Builds are made my mixing and matching skills from different weapons and classes/guilds.

What kind of character are you? If you're a DPS/healer build without a lot of reliable AoE those large groups can be tough

I used to have an awful time trying to get through public dungeons alone as a NB but I eventually switched to a magicka siphon tank where if I get surrounded by a large crowd I can just turn on siphoning attacks and spam an aoe drain skill that absorbs like 25% of my health per cast in huge groups, and now I can run the entire public dungeons by myself

If you're level 19 you probably don't have strong AoE stuff yet, I'd say look for another player running the dungeon or join a guild and ask if anyone wants to help you with it or something

As one of those people, I do it because there are certain things I enjoy in both games, like the feel of their combat, or the races and setting, etc. It also helps that I'm an RPfag and neither game isn't particularly hardcore (or, at least, I'm not invested in the "hardcore" aspects of ESO like trials).

I don't really get the hate for alts either, especially in light of this "I miss the RPG aspect" stuff. If you actually intend for your RP to be reflected in mechanics you're going to need alts. Paladin McShiningHero isn't going to join the dark brotherhood and stab people in the dick.

But I do get you on the whole MMO locusts thing. I don't know how people can migrate from MMO constantly like that, or do so while also continuing to come back to WoW while waiting for their next savior.

I'll probably keep flip-flopping as I go and just keep at least two seperate sets so I can switch on the fly. I'm going to give vet dungeons a try with the infernal guardian loadout since it feels like I'm keeping up with the rest of the party now, but I'll definitely try to keep going daedric summoning as I collect more resources. Turn all my necropotence shit legendary, try to find some kind of skill loadout that works. Might even turn it into a healer since it's just not doing the dps it needs to, plus infernal maw proccing on heavy/light attacks might work more with a resto staff. Also buffing pets with combat prayer might be nice.

Come update 13 I'm thinking of tossing in a frost staff to meme it even further beyond, since I usually end up tanking shit with hardened ward when the tank dies anyway. Come to think of it, with the chilled status inflicting minor maim, it might be beneficial for the tank if I inflict that using elemental blockade and other ice attacks, as long as I don't heavy attack.

I'll have to do both either way, because while my infernal guardian loadout is effective and hits hard, I'm having a shit-ton of fun as a daedric memelord.

I seriously don't understand why they dropped the justice system. Even if they (wrongfully) assumed that PVP would be too hard for the game's poor widdle thieves, the bandit hideout system was exactly what the doctor ordered. I hate how they threw the baby out with the bath water.

What's the best, most cost-efficient way to level enchanting? I've been slacking on it hard and now that my other crafting skills are 50 and it's still 21 I want to get it caught up

Someone said deconstructing other people's crafted glyphs is a good way but I can't seem to find high level, high quality glyphs for cheap enough prices to buy them in bulk

If you're repeatedly dying to Enforcers, the simple answer to avoiding this is to either not fucking be a criminal, or start being a much better one. Honestly, if you're willingly breaking the "law", you should be appropriately punished for it. The current system is so unbelievably janky that you can just loiter around in people's houses for hours and not even be kicked out by the inhabitants. There's basically no consequence to being a thief, and that's a problem.

Works for everyone and everything, even players. The enemy isn't getting debuffed, you're getting buffed from it. Some enemies can't be trapped by it but you still get the buff.
