Far more likely is that they're doing gradual changes, slight nerfs/buffs that the average player won't immediately notice. If they publish patch notes all the shitters will be crying all day long because some number on their favorite item was tweaked slightly down while some number on an underpowered enemy was turned slightly up. The problem I have with Ridiculon is that a lot of the levels use dry, unaltered Damage loops as the backing percussion, and similarly, his use of LA Scoring Strings just comes off as bland and generic.
I wanted to appreciate the OST, and I like the track for the Chest, but a lot of it just seems like he didn't try hard enough and really attempt to create a general tone for the game and springboard from that to further create an atmosphere like the original Isaac did.

i think i've come to the conclusion that this dlc makes me dislike playing BoI now.
between the shitty lazy uninspired room ruining portals, mimic chests, new bosses that not only have 4 million HP but have literally unavoidable attacks, half soul hearts as a punishment for resetting, day 2 void nerfs, etc. it's just clear that edmund doesn't want people to actually have fun playing this game anymore, and he clearly can't see that all the horseshit new bosses only encourage a reset-heavy playstyle to get decent enough items to beat them with. seriously, how the fuck are you ever gonna beat sister vis if all you have is brother bobby + anemic + placenta + blue cap? you're guaranteed dead without a good special item.

and it's funny since, despite it's shortcomings, antibirth was making me enjoy BoI again.

No heart drops basically means if you don't a healing item, screen clearing damage, or cheese everything, you are turbofucked. I had a Tech X run that got assfucked by a late game lard pickup and multiple rooms in a row with enemies that chase you down.

How can I get my Afterbirth file to work with Afterbirth+? When I don't have + installed, I have a Platinum God file with almost every character finished but I include the + DLC and it gives me what I unlocked pre-antibirth only. I found the location of my afterbirth file but i can't just replace the + file with it.

I was resorting to using the bible on the run where death killed me and I finally won by getting an ipecac walking nub, having it find me a black market while I had 6 hp, having the black market have a reroll machine, and going balls deep on deals and getting ridiculously lucky on every single one of my rolls including shit like accidentally getting ipecaced onto pill baggy into double balls of steel. I literally got Car Battery, Fate, Chaos, 3 Balls of Steel (one was from a demon judgement), The Mind, and Mom's Knife in that Black Market and I got a Fortune Teller to pay out with fucking Crystal Ball on the same damn floor (which I abandoned for Tammy's Head 2 floors later cause 15 damage+Mom's Knife+Car Battery).

Also, had the game wig the fuck out and replace a red chest in a cursed room with fucking Seraphim that run and got Pandora's Box+Diplopia on the Depths 1 shop. Literally the only thing that went wrong rhe entire run is on my floor 2 devil deal it had The Nail and the Satanic Bible and I accidentally backed out when I panicked at a red fire shot.

Literally the worst challenge if only because it's a broken, unfun piece of shit. Several of the charmed enemies don't even have working AI for charmed states and just wig the fuck out on screen.

I will say Brim ghosts are OP as shit. On one of my runs I had one carry me to Womb 2, but it got killed on one of the rooms with way too many god damn enemies and I proceeded to choke hard on Mom's Heart a few rooms later because I had literally sub starting damage.

Jacob and Esau is interesting and the fact you can separate items across the 2 is great, but I agree, the controlling of 2 bodies is awkward as shit and needing double the HP ups to keep them alive is problematic.

How is Bethany fun? Abysmal damage, tears and range. Basically can't rely on devil deals. I've been resetting her for the past 2 hours trying to get a decent start for the last unlock.
Unless I get a Knife, Ipecac, or Epic Fetus I feel so underwhelmed by her on floor 4 or 5 that I just end up resetting.
On almost all other characters, just a few damage ups can make your run decent. With Bethany even sitting on 2 damage ups I feel like I'm playing base tears Isaac.
