What does anyone actually have against GG, as a fighting game, besides the borderline smash-tier vocal players.

I'm not very into GG's roster and I think the game has poor basic fg footsies, although entertaining "airdasher footsies". It's also confusing to watch even to fabs of other fighting games if you dont play it.

You should go into practice mode and see if you got some other moves that can punish it.
As Birdie and Alex you literally cant use your sweep to punish sweeps of most of the cast because they are too slow. They got other ways though.

I think the future could be decent. If the new five characters in S2 are interesting enough like akuma, they fix the netcode like they said they are and bring back fan favorites, It has a chance of staying in the limelight. The game is 11 months old but if we look at past iteration of SF games, new mechanics are usually added later on in the lifecycle after a variety of feedback.

I used to "like every fighting game" back when I didn't understand them very well. In the end most of them can be fun if you're just mashing and stuff. When I played more and got better I started realizing there were games i liked, games I liked but a bit less and games I didn't like. I think that's only normal.

You can still dislike a game without shitposting about it or its players all the time though, which is the hard part for a lot of people.

Sorry, but Guilty Gear did not do that. Unlike Gulty Gear, Vampire is a capcom game. There are a lot of capcom players that only stick to capcom games. Vampire would have the advantage of it being a new game since the 90s brought back to life where as Guilty Gear has been around the fgc for the longest time.
