Other than the Kaiju Movie ending, a lot of it is bumbling around and there is very, very little in-depth characterization for anybody. Way too much time is consumed by characters that are borderline gags and have no deeper characterization like Quetz, and for all the screentime she consumes as the sorta heroine, Ereshkigal is extremely fucking vanilla "lonely girl wants friends."

Shit getting trippy at the end is fun, but it's really, really lacking in terms of emotionally powerful scenes and characters.
