Did you know that HoTS is actually really good. I have a couple of RL friends that plays it all the time.

It's really smooth, polished and bug free.

The games are pretty fast, they last about 30 mins max, which is also why my friends chose to play it to begin with.

They are fun because with that timeframe, you don't have people sperging out, raging, throwing, tilting, insulting or doing some LUL RANDOM XD shit.

The tactics of the game aren't as vast as in DOTA due to the size of the maps, but good map-awareness, team-play, calling out good move decisions and even split-push can definitely make a comeback and win a game you thought to have lost.

I played it for over 4 days when I was visiting a friend at his house and I had a great time. My only regret is that in the Blizzard side you have to subject yourself to the farming and daily quest pattern.

Which I really hate. I really dislike the modus operandi where you have to farm dailys for points and then use these points to purchase the Heroes. But I understand that it's Blizzard's way to make money out of the game, and at least they are open, in-your-face about it instead of doing shit behind the curtains like Valvo does.

Overall HoTS is a pretty decent game, it's really easy and fun at the end of the day, which is the primary reason why people should be playing video games to begin with.

Reminder that this game is still a mess of code hammered into itself and build upon a complete mesh of instable versions. Every patch that comes out breaks more shit than actually fixes it and every time now since 2014 there has been a 3-4 Hero FOTM trend that keeps cycling to make the game more casual friendly.

Some small things are a little annoying, such as removing the level up button, and the position of the health/mana bars, and the shop should defualt to the standard layout instead of the "recommended" shit that is normally not what you're looking for.
But that's no reason to scream and shout and quit playing the game.

The one thing I understand people getting upset about the removal of the loading screens. There are customers that have paid money in order to choose their loading screen, and now they can't even see them. That is wrong, they need to find a way to bring them back somewhere.

There are no whorish ad placements everywhere. The only thing that bothers me is the strategy screen in game that instead of showing what items you have available, it tells you what items you can buy. Like someone's going to be 30 seconds away from starting a game, notice a skin, and buy it right there and then.

The heroes screen is the perfect place to display available skins, especially when you're usually there to customise your hero with the items you already own. Where do you want them to put it? Do you want 2 different heroes pages? One for you to view skills and talents and one for you to customise and buy sets? What a waste that would be.

The versus screen is just a cool things to show the game starting, Looks like a fighting game, it makes the start of the match look fun.

The reason Dota's numbers have been dropping, I think, is because there are too few patches in the past year and a half. There's seriously only 2 patches a year, which is just not frequent enough to keep the game interesting. At the end of the patch cycle, people are practically begging for a new patch in order to make the game interesting again. What Valve need to do is make a patch schedule of like 4-6 per year, and keep to it.

And don't give me that shit about "make a good game first". Dota 2 has been out for 5-6 years now, and it's the popular game on steam, and one of the top played games in the world. You're acting like Dota is only 6-12 months old, and the entire item library was made since then.

I just started playing Dota 2. Previously, I played League of Legends. In the League client, the prices of the champions were all clearly listed in their profiles. The Dota 2 client looks much better in every regard, except one: I can't seem to find the price of the champions.

I was able to demo a lot of the champions with the "demo hero" feature, but I don't know how much it costs to play them in actual games. It occurred to me that the champions might be free, but that seems ridiculous, as Riot Games charges IP (in-game resource accrued by playing games) or RP ($$) for each of their champions.

-You're the tank and every fight you will have to tank a lot of shit in order to make space to let the other core(s) deal damage. In this case you kinda want to go for the heart/satanic sort of build

I agree with you on this point. Valve care way too much about money, especially when they already have so much of it.

Especially with Dota. What I said about the lack of patches losing playerbase because of a lack of continued interest is part of the problem. These past two years have had such a patch drought, but there's always so many skins coming out. I know that not all of them are made by Valve, a lot of them are made by the community and simply implemented by Valve, but their priorities are a little out of whack.

I think it's fine for them to milk the game. It's a F2P game, and they have to make money somehow. That's how it works, sorry to say. They have to make skins and advertise them to their players. I think they do it tastefully though. At least they don't have pop ups reminding you of the latest sales, or they don't have a window in the in-game UI that displays ads. I think Valve are quite tame when it comes to pushing the skins, especially compared to some, which is a good thing.

I'm fine with their level of advertisement, as long as they don't lose sight of what's truly important; the game. These last 2 years have felt a little dry, but it's been bearable, and it's nothing they can't recover from.

As for Blizzard, micro transaction loot boxes, with no alternative market, in a full price AAA game. They crossed the fucking line.

after that its just plain +25 -25 for every win or lose

calibration is some form of smurf detection to quickly bump you up or down, its +-750 mmr AT BEST.
you can get rtz to win 10 of them on your 3k mmr and you prolly wont get 4k.

all you have to do is play well early on and then win more than you lose

there were MANY ways to abuse the algorith (spamming zeus ulti every time its off cd, spamming oracle heal every time its off cd for damage/heal so smurf detection thinks you play well) but all of them got nerfed, im sure there are new ones i just dont make accounts to sell anymore its not profitable when people just use bots to do it
