I'm AA2 and feel like I've hit a brick wall now.
Is my deck trying to do too much at once? I really like putting Unica into ambush for free heals and potential cyclone blades but I dont know if its really worth it.
I ended up with two odins since I run into Seraph so much now and took floral fencer out since she gets me into trouble vs other swords. Where as Teena usually gets two kills on a turn 4 Evo. I feel like I could do without tsubaki, but every time I pull her out of my deck I run into a situation where I immediately regret it.

Hell, I'm even tempted to say control shadow has a leg up on control blood, considering I've already been playing pic related without Nep and absolutely disintegrating the few control blood players I manage to find.

Also, no, Wolf is not a win-con in and of himself, he pulls your actual wincon (Bolt or Rose) for you. Much in the same way that Nep pulls your actual wincon (Mordecai) for you. I'll give you that Dragoon is at least a wincon by himself, I'm just not entirely sold on him being better than Nep yet.

The difference is that Bolt or Rose will likely win the game for you outright. Mordecai is an awful card and the poorest excuse for a win-con there is. If people really wanted slow Shadow builds to thrive they would push for a card that can actually threaten the opponent more forcefully and phase Mordecai out of Shadow builds entirely because he's a fucking bad card.

I mean, you'd almost have a point if Dirtrune was a thing spamming Calamitous Curse everywhere, but that's not happening so it doesn't matter. If they Odin him that means the rest of your board lived, which is enough of a tempo swing to close the game out. If they don't Odin him, then you get to start cloning him on turn 9 and once that happens the game might as well be over. 99% of the time your opponent won't recover from multiple Mordecais, especially when by that point they're running out of cards in hand and you aren't. Sure, burn+storm could try to kill you, but that's why Khawy exists, to keep you out of burn range and stop storm from being an effective answer.

I also don't care about duping Mordecai because I honestly don't think that Urd is all that good in Shadow. She's too slow and Urd gets the most of her mileage out of burst combos with Storm followers. Haven makes more effective use of Urd than Shadow ever will.

Because that card is a pile of shit if you dont draw Mord and Khawy.

Without Khawy its like youre playing a Mord, you just die the turn after you drop it. Without Mord you have no real threat on the board after dropping it.

The version with Ghostly/Khawy/Mord is the best version ive seen. This destroys a follower and heals you while leaving a Mord and Nep with Ward on the board. Shadow has pretty acceptable removal in the 2-5 slot now, so I dont really mind being light on followers there.

I mean they can do what they want. I will probably never build a deck around Nepthys because I hate Shadow as a control archetype. Haven is much more effective and enjoyable at control than Shadow ever will be because it's more efficient and effective at that style of play. Shadow works most effectively as an aggressive class and statistics have reflected that.

Nah, Forest has always been my second go to class. I'm also trying a lot of other classes since I finally used my rupies. Shadow is fun.
As for Sword, I'm trying to fix my control deck but I'm not playing mid-range, bats have decreased in numbers a bit and Daria is still everywhere, so there's no reason to play it as it is I think.

Fewer cards have RNG in this game than Hearthstone, and they typically have convenient limiters to help you play with/around them for desired results: random damage never goes face, and random discards choose from your lowest-cost cards, so they're much more controllable than Hearthstone where the deviance is larger. You never have to deal with Flamewaker going all face and not clearing the enemy board around here.

you need to find a deck whose matchups and card-for-card interactions/probabilities you're willing to learn like the back of your pimp's hand to get the increased winrate that expertise brings, and that means finding a deck that you thoroughly enjoy
if you don't have such a deck in mind already, maybe it would be good to meme around with varied decks for a bit until you find the absolute core of who you are as a player and what playstyle you like

Don't let anyone tell you CBlood is bad, it's ridiculously good against Bats and Daria, and that's like 90% of the ladder, so that's all that matters.

Anon is going to bully me for not using Yurius, but I really like Vania's evolve. You need to be able to shift into being aggressive against other control decks because they will absolutely destroy you. Blood has no wincon outside of the measly 11 damage combo.

No random effect ever goes face in SV. Meaning if opponent only has something with one health on board, this is a surefire removal, meanwhile in the same spot in HS with Flame or Knife Juggler you'd get a 50/50.
