I feel like i'm stuck in this endless loop of yoyoing between rank 18 and 20. I keep getting games where my teammates all die within seconds of the game starting and I can't get all 4 generators alone.

Yeah, try to sit on the gen long enough that your arrival to the hooked person is just before he hits struggle state. Gotta optimaly use the time they're on the hook and hope they don't struggle.

Imagine if survivors would have shared points for survival based on how many escaped.

6k points for 4 surviving
4.5k for 3
3k for 2
1.5k for 1
0 for 0

And even if you were the first to die, you would still get the points from this category. Those hooked first wouldn't attempt escapes, and make as much time for their team as they can. The remaining 3 would asses the situation and depending on the situation they would either try to save the last guy, but if not, they wouldn't ignore trying to fight towards having 3 people escape. In the long run this would finally punish hard campers, and survivors wouldn't be afraid to abandon people.

Like I'm positive this would be a good step towards saving dbd. Any flaws I could've omitted?

Things like iron will and sprint burst are what make escaping actually possible.

What makes a survivor good though is not how well they get away, but how much of the killer's time they waste. If you can take the killer to pallet town for like 2 minutes you will get like 5000 boldness points and pretty much guarantee your team will win the game. A good killer will always get you, a good survivor will make sure he takes a damn long time to do it.

Learning to run the killers around pallet loops, learning how to use distance gained to juke the killer the wrong direction on your tracks, sharply turning right as the killer would attack so they miss a lunge and hit an object, learning to double back on yourself when the killer tries to anticipate your movements, all these things are important to learn to be a good survivor.

If placing traps is faster it would be viable to pre-emptively trap the area near hooks. The trapper's role should be to catch survivors off guard and punish them, not doom them on the first hook.

Why not? If players seriously crouchwalk through every place with tall grass they will lose so much time that the trapper will be able to litter the map with even more traps and have way more time to catch survivors, and you don't get the disarm trap alert if you are in motion, so it's not like you can just crouchwalk holding LMB and disarm everything. It solves multiple problems simultaneously:

>high ping/laggy wifi trappers having no counterplay because it takes 10 seconds for the host to even register you want to disarm, and that's if you are lucky and don't get warped into the trap
>Adds value to Urban evasion perk making people less likely to run the same 4 perks on survivor every game

Which is not always an option. Sometimes hook gets sabotaged, or you catch survivors far away from it. Your idea will work if killer has IG or/and AG, but that's silly balancing.

This can be countered by host's ping being shown in the lobby.

I like the idea of giving survivors a small number of survival points for staying out of a chase for a set amount of time. And having it get higher the more consecutive times you stay out of a chase. This would make my stealth play better, but mostly I want some leverage in debates. A lot of times I only have around 12-13K points so people ignore me or assume I don't know what I'm talking about because they have 18K with their mindless pallet town adventures.

With some number tweaking I suppose they could even combine both these ideas. Kinda like the killer gets the devious bonus if all survivors are killed but he obviously can still get devious points in the middle of the match.

Damn, was in a lobby with a near 1200 hour killer who'd never gotten to at least rank 10 survivor yet. was excited to try stealthing him. he dodged.

So how are you supposed to level other survivors/killers with how pitifully low the bloodpoints they give you is?
All I can figure out is play 1 character until they have decent perks and then never touch the character you want to play until you can get them to 25 and maybe not even then if they get awful perks. I got the game just before double bp christmas shit and grinded my dick off for 25hours and it really doesn't feel like it.

The amount of points you get is (generally) the amount of work you put in. If you're not getting a lot of points there's a reason for it.
Although you don't need perks to do well, you just need perks to do meme shit well.

But yeah I suppose you're right with the notion of sticking with one survivor and have that be your point farming one. I myself started with Jake to get Iron Will and Calm Spirit (back when calm spirit wasn't a joke, and that was also when it wasn't 100% negates birds) and used him to gather points until I got Nea to level 25 for her 4 perk slots. After that while prestiging her to P3 I just kinda stuck with her regardless but I had my experience helping me out.

Believe me, you don't know how good you got it in regards to grinding. It hardly feels like grinding to me at all anymore.

Considering before the grind reduction 500K points would get you somewhere between level 14 and 16 depending on entity spawning. I haven't tested it with the new leveling system because I was done grinding before the reduction really, but if I had to guess I'd say 500K points would get you to at LEAST level 20-22 now.

You can level up once every two games at your pace pretty much. I think you're fine.
