I've got 50 Bloodtinge and a +9 Chikage/Evelyn, and it just feels a bit - underwhelming?

I've got 2 +20% Physical Attack Gems and a +18% Bloodtinge up gem in the Chikage so the gems aren't exactly trash, and idk, it just feels like not that much damage. Or rather, single strikes do a nice bit of damage but the weapon seems to synergise poorly with Beast Blood Pellets and my boss damage feels low

I was gonna make this a 50/50 Skill/BLT build for Bowblade but i honestly feel like just capping it and getting 50 Vit and 20 End and calling it a day

BB pellets don't improve Blood damage, so it's useless for the tricked mode. Untricked is ass so don't bother using it. 50 Skill for Bowblade untricked is okay, great for Pure Skill weapons like BoM and Rakuyo. Tricked Chikage should be the only mode you use, and with 50 Blt + decent gems it'll hurt good. 31.5% Korean OoS for max damage. If you get 50 Skill, you'll probably want 27.2% Phys to use untricked lightly.

You can't parry him dummy, viscerals only come when the head takes enough damage. Same goes for Amy, Darkbeast, Abbhorent, Cleric, etc. You can start the Cleric Beast fight with a visceral if you hit the head right after he drops down too, a bullet should do the trick.

I just wear tons of frenzy resist gear and a +200 resist rune and stun-lock them to death, if I want to farm them. The third brain doll on that bridge you can kill through the rocks without taking any frenzy.

You use any serrated weapons? They definitely help with his first form. I think the Tonitrus' moveset kind of sucks to be honest. You can do it reliably 100% of the time with that gear setup. Even if they spaz out and decide to stare at you for a second before winding up their grab, you won't die.

The main problem people have with parrying brain trusts is standing too close. What people see is themselves parrying at what they think is the perfect timing, but between the bullets leaving the gun and impact occurring they're enveloped in the zangief grab hitbox and the trusts are unstaggerable once that animation starts.

Saying it's unreliable is like saying parrying Gwyn is unreliable.

If spending 49 levels for 69 points of damage (assuming you have the best possible gems) seems worth it to you, then go right ahead.

For reference a perfectly gemmed Bloodletter is 792 AR at 50 BLT and 859 at 99 BLT. A Bowblade will go from 704 to 764. An Evelyn goes from 395 to 432 and a Repeating Pistol goes from 441 to 473.

Fire for Beasts, Bolt for Kin, Arcane for Pthumerians. Anything covered in an element will be resistant to it, like Bolt for Abhorrent/Darkbeast and Fire for Laurence/Hotdog. Beasts also take extra damage from serrated weapons.

With a pistol you should be parrying from outside the big grab hitbox. It's a toss up - if you position yourself properly with a pistol you won't be in danger of the grab if you parry too early or late.

If you use a blunderbuss you have to be close-ish. The upside is that if you parry too early you'll knock it out of the animation. If you parry too late though you'll get grabbed and die

25 Str on a Skill build is good for Burial Blade, Saw Spear, Saif, Church Pick, etc which have lower Skill scaling compared to Rakuyo and BoM. I'd go with Str if you plan on using those weapons. If not, 15-18 Arc for Tools is okay if you got points to spare.

Yes, at 50 you have 85% of your total scaling. There's a reason no one goes over 50, you go from adding 0.014 scaling per point to 0.00306. The only exceptions are Hunter Tools, 99 BLT Madras Whistle would do tons of damage, but everything else barely improves. 99 ARC works because Augur, Gloves, 1800 Beyond, Blacksky Eye and Acursed Brew all scale well up to 99, so it's actually worth it.

BLT weapons all have >1.00 scaling as well (except repeating pistol) so you'd get even worse returns on most STR/SKL weapons. Even at 99 SKL Viscerals only get a little better than at 50.
