god damn every time I fight the undead giant (swords) on a cursed dungeon I have to use up like 16 potions, whether I win or lose. Even cheesing him, it is so fucking hard to hit that bitch without him hitting you back and bringing you down to 2hp in a single blow. I can only very rarely break his poise by running up to him and doing a sprinting overhead smash right onto his hemarroid weak spot

You should have a +6 weapon by Rom. With the DLC it's possible to have one +9 weapon if you rushed for Chunks. If Rom is giving you trouble, get a Saw to at least +6, clear the first set of spiders, pop a Beastblood Pellet + Paper and keep slapping Rom. LHB untricked sword is shit, the Tricked mode and Axe are pretty slow to build up Beasthood unless you abuse charge attacks. Early dungeon gems are good for extra damage.

You need 16 Bloodstone Shards to go from +0 to +3, then 16 Twin bloodstone Shards to go from +3 to +6, then 16 Blood drive Chunks to go from +6 to +9, then a Blood Rock to go to +10.

Shards are so common they are basically meaningless. You can farm them in Centeral Yharnam for a +3 before Gasgoine if you want to. Then they become even more common after that. The werewolves in lower area of Old Yharnam drop them like candy. Radiant Sword Hunter Badge lets you buy them as well.

Twin Shards start off rare, but they are farmable from the Bagmen and enemies in the woods (Hunchback beast men and giant snake balls).

Chunks are very rare, there's quite a few lying around in the later areas of the game, but farming them is a pain. Quickest way is endgame chalice bosses. Don't spend chunks unless you are sure you like a weapon.

Rocks are very rare, there's one in the main game, one in the DLC and they are purchasable for 60 insight and farmable in endgame Chalice's.

why did From Soft allow it so that infinite faggot blood spiders can spawn literally across the labyrinth and they will travel for 2 minutes through hallways and corridors until they reach you and kill you as you idle by the lantern, after you'd died and respawned? So I picked up a ps4 and bb a few days ago finally and made it to this guy.

Was he supposed to be easy? I was BL 63 with a +9 LHB and took him down first attempt with plenty of vials to spare, I literally just strafe quickstepped around him and parried when he got close, or just mashed R1 untransformed to build up beast meter

Then put it into End, and a bit of Arc for Tools. But honestly it's better put into Str so you could use other Skill weapons more effectively, BoM can be your main but it's nice to have other options. Plus 50 Skill is all you need for it, the Arc scaling is terrible so there's no point in dumping points into Arc for the BoM.

Most props are just copy-pasted (with few small edits like being mirrored and a change of size) and placed randomly across maps to mark boundaries, while trying to avoid making the level look too empty, with relatively little effort.

Keeping the original around as a back-up in case you accidentaly made some un-intended changes to the prop while placing it all over the map.

Thou when the map is finishied most would either delete the original prop or hide it beneath the map instead.

Amazing DLC; I think it's better than a good chunk of the main game. I know this is heresy but in my opinion DaS2 DLC > BB DLC > DaS DLC > DaS3 DLC .

I used rakuyo for a while on PvE, it's versatile, but it's not particularly high base or sustained damage, nor that fast, nor great stun, nor great reach, nor cheap in stamina. It's good in high short combo damage thanks to L2 finisher, and cleaning mods with L2 though.

It doesn't add much to the BoM though, except a pretty good mob killer attack. The cane, the pick or the burial blade (though this one will make papers useless) are better companions because of their reach.

He has a BoM as primary weapon which will destroy any human sized enemy with little trouble. The thrust attacks of the rakuyo are good, but for the bosses that the BoM fails are the ones that it will also be hard to reach with that attack, like bosses you're aiming at legs with the camera unlocked or locked in their bellies.

It's just my opinion though, I prefer having a fast weapon and a slow weapon with good reach. The BoM and Rakuyo are both on the former, though Rakuyo trades speed for reach.

It wasn't as good as DS1 and it was the newest at the time so it was fair to like it lass than 1.
Now DS3 and has come out and somehow managed to be worse than DS2, mostly be removing all the great shit that DS2 added in spite of its lacking atmosphere and level design.
So people recognize DS2 now as being a very mechanically solid game with a lot going for it.
