How to fix this mess:

I don't understand this games popularity.
I tried it and from what I gather you spawn then run a long distance towards and enemy, when you get there the enemy runs away, then some I guess is on your team comes along also, then they run away. If you run after anyone you die shortly afterwards.

Rocket League lived up to the hype but DOTA2 is laughably bad, I just assume people get far enough involved into it that they can't stop due to accumulation of some digital currency or something that will vanish if they stop, therefore all that time they invested would be gone.

the reason new bfury sucks isn't because of the area covered, its because of the direction. The real nerf was that sleight of fists now always faces away from the caster instead of being at arbitrary directions based on previous slashed targets which was based on unit creation

If ember spirit is in your face slashing you like this webm, you'd take 0 damage from battlefury cleave because he'll always be hitting the creeps away from you. If you're standing in front of your creep wave, you'll never get hit by cleave

the only way its possible to get hit by cleave now is to have creeps between you and ember, which is easy to avoid. Any time you're running towards him, he's never going to land cleaves on you

veil->maelstrom is better damage output in fights, better farming, lower gold cost, better stats.

My game keeps freezing for 2-3 seconds in crucial moments (slark popping out of invis enxt to me, teamfights). My fps is steady and capped at 60, never drops below it, every other game I have runs perfectly smooth. Only dota has those annoying freezes. I reinstalled the game, verified, didn't help.

cleave used to hit a circle in front of you in the direction of the target. Now it hits a cone in front of you in the direction of the target. Slightly smaller total area

sleight of fists used to always make ember face his next target from his previous location (targets chosen based on who was created first, basically random)
now it always faces his next target from his CASTING location


so if you're standing next to an enemy hero, and 10 creeps are surrounding both of you, and you cast sof, no cleaves will ever hit the enemy hero because they'll all be facing away from you. Previously it might hit some of them at random, it was basically scattershot

when you try to attract people to play your game or pick something in particular within your own game, you must make it aesthetically appealing because it's the first thing you usually see from a character, it's the thing that hits you the most and it's the least likely aspect to change from a character

it's a very common practice in the "nerd business" (not only videogames, but also tabletop, series, etc) because regardless of what the female percentage is, the main demographic is always teen to young adult heterosexual males, and valve showcases it by making their female characters "pretty girls but ________" and making the rest of the cast "lmao whatever", most of the ghastly, deformed, misaligned or otherwise inhumane characters are male, the only exceptions of this being broodmother, spectre and arguably medusa

even most of the ones that fit into the less humane categories have some prettying features: look at phantom assassin's new eyes, death prophet's personality, legion commander's boobplate (gotta make sure they're still there!), even winter wyvern has a soothing, almost dominating voice that appeals to sexual thoughts, even if she's straight up a fucking dragon

it's not exclusive to dota artists, but they showcase this trope (males are interesting to look at, girls are pretty to look at) and they do so very obviously

this isn't in any way a form of pushing some kind of feminist agenda, i just think they're missing a big opportunity by trying to sell more and it kinda irks me from a designer perspective
