I got rid of that for a few reasons

1. Lag
2. Fucks up audio if it hits water
3. Because of how the game works with limbs, the 32 shot version would INSTANTLY break every enemies bones, rendering them sitting ducks

I remember testing it in the Glowing Sea, the 32 shot version would almost instantly shatter the deathclaws legs, arms, head, body...etc and break every single leg on a radscorpion, etc. A Deathclaw or Radscorpion with every body part damaged beyond repair makes it so they can't even move, they just sit there waiting to be finished off.

later today I'm planning to do a FO4 run I've been waiting months to do. I've never played Far Harbor, Nuka-World, or Automatron, and I never intend to "experience" them Vanilla.

I intend to make it pretty ball bustingly hard and completely unfair to me, and I was wondering if you guys had any recommended mods for that kind of playthrough. Already got most of the difficulty down and a lot of weapons that I'll put into the loot table, but any overhauls or things similar to the Raider Overhaul / Super Mutant Redux would be mint.

Survival options is the only rebalance mod you need.
I'd ditch the custom weapons and the overhauls desu. Custom weapons are always OP and the overhauls always bring OP loot.

If you want a "ball bustingly hard and completely unfair" experience I'd also suggest removing easy lockpicking and hacking kek.
And if you are planning on fast traveling between settlements you might as well just turn it to casual mode.

Lockpicking/Hacking are just boring minigames. Neither removes the perk requirement, it simply removes the time wasting element. If anything, its more RPG like - my character has the skill to do something, but somehow I'm lumped with doing it. Nah. I'd rather play the actual game.

Fast travelling between settlements was a toss up for me. I don't really enjoy walking across the same areas again and again, I have the self control to use it in moderation but I might ditch it.

But no, its unfair to me. The damage will be scaled so that I get hit a couple of times and I'm dead. Anything "OP" will be more OP for them.

Yeah, and with modded in weapons you'll oneshot them. How many are even going to carry around? 5-6 rifles? C'mon. And the loot from the overhauls will make you rich way to fast, further tipping the balance in your favour.

It's all fine and dandy though, play however you feel like but don't fool yourself into thinking you are setting up a hard run in any way.
Can't see a level limit in your list neither. Enjoy homemaker combined with the build settlements anywhere bloating up your save file too.

Anyway, like I said. Get survival options. You can ditch enabled console, difficulty rebalance, customizable needs, fast travel shit and probably something else I missed because that mod lets you modify every aspect of survival. From needs to fast travelling.

You're definitely right about the inherit benefits not being a necessity at all, but PA offers some good utility when you need it. I almost always play a stealth build of some kind, so I rarely use PA, but it really is more convenient to handle some areas of the game especially in survival

Preston just leaves the second-to-last Minuteman laying on the steps of the museum.

I can't think of any other characters that die or are dead when you find them but are kind of important to someone, but I'm sure all of them just get left for the corpse cleanup script to disable with no words of remembrance.

just got new vegas up and running and a friend recommended getting the sprint mod since the games walk speed is molasses for such a big overworld game, but it seems like the only one available is for mouse+keyboard layouts, no controller support

I hate that it isn't an actual number, it's just "increases" or "greatly increases" magazine size, and there's no magazine size adjustment to caliber.

A .308 hunting rifle rechambered for .50 isn't going to be fitting 5 rounds in that flush magazine.

Still having a problem from yesterday where my game will persistantly crash to desktop when trying to pick up the Grognak armor and when Hank tries to give me the silver shroud costume. the 700+ hours Steam records tends to suggest so.

The DT armor system was broken beyond belief becuase getting more DT didn't actually negate more damage 90% of the time due to DT being a straight subtraction system, and most weapons doing so little damage that one reached the 80% damage reduction cap with even light armor.

This in turn made armor piercing rounds pointless because heavy armor didn't actually DO anything in New Vegas, something even Sawyer admitted too.

On the other hand, unless you REALLY gimped yourself, hollow point rounds were pointless because you did so much damage anyways that doing more was just overkill stacked on over kill.

Both of the above problems were only further made worse by the increased weapon decay rates alternate ammo types gave, which made using them even worse of an option.

Not to mention how piss easy it was to find or buy every type of ammo in the game.

You were literally making the game more difficult on yourself by using alternate ammo types because they were just THAT unbalanced.

Still trying to figure out what conflicting mods are causing my game to crash when picking up the grognak armor , and when hank hands me back the silver shroud costume

i'm on Xedit now thanks to someones suggestion, pulling up the mods and it looks like armorsmith extended is conflicting with armor keywords, i don't much about Xedit but i'm guessing the red means there is conflict...i guess i need to know what to do from here, change the load order or remove one of them?i thought these 2 would be compatible, any help appreciated

I was actually partly inspired by Hyper Light Drifter with what I want to do. Deep in the city part of Boston, you'll find a secret door that goes to an underground facility DEEP within the earth. I might use some of the Institute tilesets, basically a high tech looking research facility.

Inside this place will be plasma men, humans that have somehow become infused with plasma, and yet are still alive. They'll be glowing ones basically, but made out of plasma and can emanate plasma explosions from their bodies. There will be a huge cracked glass vat somewhere in the facility, which implies shit went down and raw plasma engulfed all of the scientists, some of them dying horrific deaths, some of them arising from the green goo as plasmen.

Early on in the lab you will find a Plasma Caster and a little bit of ammo for it, and as you fight your way through it, you'll find upgrades, and eventually, a legendary plasma caster, and some recipes for creating the various upgrades, and recipes for creating Plasma caster ammo, and plasma casters themselves. I'll probably also include some enemies that will wield Plasma casters against you inside the complex, like Super mutant body plasma men, and I might make a "final boss" inside the dungeon as well, like a huge sentient blob of plasma consisting of the deranged personalities of loads of scientists that have melded together. I'm thinking maybe using Mirelurk Hunter for the body to that, when rigging it anyway.

Pic related is what I'm gonna try making them look like. And you'll probably leave this dungeon with 10 or more plasma casters. I'm also gonna make some of them kinda hard to get to, like you will need a PA jetpack equipped for some of them, etc.

Are full CHA/INT builds viable in Fallout 4? It seems like it would take a long time for the payoff to kick in and then it doesn't seem like the percentages to intimidate are very high...

Full CHA lets you take the intimidation perks, but I'm not sure what benefits you'd get from full INT besides the ability to hack robots, unless that's the intention (since there are a lot of robots in FO4, especially if you have Automatron). There's very few INT checks, and if you're doing it for XP, you're better off taking one or two INT and then going full LUK for Idiot Savant.

They don't take over Goodneighbor. They never even enter it at any point.

They don't take over Diamond City(though they do send representatives as part of a PR campaign to get more recruits)

And they don't directly take over player settlements either. Though they do make trade deals with established farming settlements like the Finch Farm, Abernathy Farm, Warwick Homestead, etc. etc. to trade crops(What those farms get out of it in return depends on how you chose to handle it)

I have some ideas.

I think I'll use some box parts, but add plasma bits to them. I can probably jury rig some prongs from the Toy Rocket mesh, or use rocket launcher bayonets. I'm still looking through meshes trying to decide on a design.

I want to steer away from the "Box with tuuuuuubes" look, while still generally people will still know what the weapon is when they see it. The Plasma Caster has a troubled history anyway, even the devs have a hard time deciding whether its its own thing or an old model Plasma rifle.

Why would Bethesda have any cause to be malicious in the ridiculous way you're describing?
They greenlit Fallout New Vegas, actively approached Obsidian after completing Mothership Zeta with the offer of them making a Fallout spinoff using their engine and game assets, and also had some involvement in bug management and patch creation alongside them after the game came out.
The main reason why Fallout 4 isn't littered with references or fanservice nod to New Vegas is simply due to the geographic location of both settings. They're on opposite sides of North America. And failing that, Todd Howard and Feargus Urquhart have both talked about how Bethesda wants to have their games on the unexplored setting of Fallout's east coast USA, while Obsidian set their game on the West Coast as a very indirect sequel to Fallout 2.
Seriously, I've heard ridiculous ideas and complaints about Bethesda and Fallout 4, but this one takes the cake. Especially the part about them trying to 'nix the chances of a Obsidian spin-off'.
And being honest here, saying that you have a daily routine of hoping for a Obsidian developed game is kind of... strange.
Obsidian is one of the best RPG developers out there... almost as good as Bethesda themselves, Bioware and CD Projekt Red, who all happen to be the main AAA RPG-focused studios. They're all as good as each other at making great games, why should one be held up over the other like Long Dick Johnson?

I think Nexus seriously needs to make a second hot files section for waifu and adult related material.

Most modders will lose out to titties and ass, and the titties and ass mod makers have massive inflated egos due to this; One time there was a huge shitstorm on the Nexus forums because one of Trainwiz's mods was beating a waifu follower for File of the month, said waifu follower maker kept asking for Trainwiz to get banned.

NCR interior territories are fairly secure. Raiders and wasteland mutants wouldn't be much of an issue, leg sweeping most of the moment to moment gameplay.

It would have to be some kind of civil war or insurrection to have a background conflict to get caught up in, or ignore for your own devices.

And I don't think Bethesda could do it. It would have to be Obsidian to pull it off.

NV had some simple disguises, expanding that could be neat. Doing double agent stuff and infiltration, Sons of the Legion trying to disestablish the Republic. A group of Rangers or other special forces group that has a bone to pick with a corrupt General or has just gone rogue because there's nothing left to fight. The Brotherhood managed to scavenge Area 51 and have become a major faction, and they still remember losing Helios-1.

Plenty of factions to quietly work against the government and keep it interesting without basic ass Raiders.

The main routes for the FH dlc are about balancing the relationships between the CoA, Arcadia and the people on the pier. With serveral different endings.

the BoS and the Institute can also destroy / capture Arcadia and either lock out some of the endings or be done after them if Arcadia is still standing.

And there is literally no reason to compromise the lore with the armor anyways, they could have just made it clear that it was modified T-45, which would make a Hell of a lot of sense considering how similar they look. Instead they decided to contradict themselves for no real reason whatsoever.

Adding new things is fine, just make sure it all fits. If you want to add something that is so contrary to the setting that you can't, make a new setting.

So there were enough conflicts that Nevada Skies with RWL was just stupid (and was probably preventing a ton of weathers from happening) so I'm testing out Nevada Skies URWLified. I liked the sunset that one of the two previous mods was giving me though. There didn't seem to be that color change, but it was also cloudy I guess, and I was distracted by Jackals meanwhile. Anyone know if the colors here look better than the normal Nevada Skies? It doesn't have the vanilla tint but that's all I can actually see.

I was just comparing the two files in FNVEdit, a lot of the weathers are tied to specific climates, climates that are added by NS and then added to worldspaces, which are then overwritten with the vanilla climates by RWL. And then for the vanilla climates (climates here being "these weathers can happen" I guess), NS has over 100 slightly different weathers that it added to "NVDefaultClimate" (vanilla has 2) which most areas use, which are then overwritten by RWL's grand total of 7, which are 4 variations on "clear", an "overcast", a dust storm, and then "hazy". I only saw a dust storm but I also wasn't trying it very long.

tl;dr: There's a shit ton of stuff that gets overwritten by a handful of stuff in a way that the game will never see it.

Why the fuck does RWL even have weather when that's RWLE's thing? Why the fuck does this have to be so complicated, I just want the lighting fixed, nothing else changed.
