Did you like how the DR2 cast felt less dangerous and more friendly than in the first game? On one hand, it makes the entire cast more likeable. On the other, we don't have that sense that anyone could kill another participant at anytime, like with Celestia or Togami. The island felt so friendly that Monokuma had to basically force the students to commit their murders sometimes, or rely on the absolutemadman to bring uncertainty.

I'm glad you agree anon. All the effort he put himself through, and he was able to make it to Hope's Peak. He is proof of his own ideals considering he had to work his way up from a lower class family and society at large having a stigma for his family for putting the country into debt.

Considering that Ishimaru's dream is being able to restore his family name and wanting to be prime minister, Ishimaru being gay does makes sense as his secret. Japanese people are pretty strict with traditional values, I can see Ishimaru being really obsessive with wanting to be seen as spotless as possible to the general public, and it would really conflict with himself internally if that was ever found out.

You're spot on with about as much as we know about the other characters, including not really being able to find something noteworthy for Aoi, Hifumi, and Leon, so I doubt they had anything that significant like Makoto does.
