I think a couple of dedicated people did what they wanted to do. There hasn't really been customs on that map since it wasn't really built for anything but aesthetics.

We did have a Christmas map where we took a community picture which was also built for the aesthetics.

Dude has some good videos on the franchise and this one is no exception. He hits the nail on the head most of the time, covers why the issues may have come about due to development, and gives credit where it's due.

It's just unfortunate H5 doesn't have as much info on the development as the other games, which makes this video less informative. I appreciate his analysis though.

While I do agree with him on Halo 3's campaign, he says basically what everyone else said about the campaign, it sucked big time. The fact that the campaign was done by the Spartan Ops team makes it worse.

He says the arena multiplayer is a big increase from Reach and 4, though he can't bring himself to say it's on par with 2 and 3, mostly because of map sameness and issues with the Spartan Abilities.
I should note that he admits the Spartan abilities are the first time a "4th pillar" of gameplay has been implemented correctly, but that they need improvement and that smart scope should just be removed completely.

He says warzone feels like a prototype of a fun mode. That while WZ's ambition is notable, it's map sameness is abysmal and usage of AI needs serious work.

He states the Req store is a terribly run and anti consumerist concept that is purely driven by profit greed at the expense of better implementation.

He doesn't mention the visuals outside of noting that CG cutscenes are strangely implemented at random times, but he does talk about the music.
He shits on the musical score royally, stating it's incredibly repetitive, particularly with the strings.

All in all he refers to it as a "mixed bag".
He states the game has much better arena multiplayer than the previous 2 games, but also a mediocre warzone mode filled with cheap tactics and the worst Halo campaign by far.
It would be hard to rank it for him because while he enjoys arena, he REALLY hated the campaign. He spent 2/3rds of the review on it and none of it was positive.

Am I the only one who actually wishes the original trilogy had used some of its tracks a bit more often?
Theres loads of tracks in Halo: CE that are great but are never carried over to the next games in the series (like Covenant Dance, which plays about 3 times in the whole campaign and is never heard from again)
and whilst 2 and 3 remastered or redid a lot of the music, theres some tracks that just don't play often enough (like Under Cover of Night/In Amber Clad, which play about 3 times in total over the 2 games)
and yet Halo 4 and 5 insist on creating these new tracks that are a mixed bag (at best) when theres so much to draw from in the original trilogy that would make fans happy

You win by setting off Halo rings.

There's 8 halo ring cards in the game, but they can only be activated by obtaining their corresponding index card. When a player has both a Halo card and the correct index card, they can activate that Halo. Players need 3 activations to win.
Once activated, rings take 3 turns to fire. During this time, other players may try to destroy or shut down the player's Halo halo with cards of their own.
There is also an addituonal Ark card that can activate all Halo cards and instantly win the game but it can only be used if another halo has been destroyed or deactivated.

Most cards don't deal with this however. Most are based on characters, quotes, or memes.

To be clear, Halo 5's maps are not poorly designed (for the most part), but because they have to accommodate for every Spartan Ability, none of them are interesting. They all have very similar layouts and general trends of movement.

It's impossible for them to keep the Spartan abilities and create maps that are unique and widely different from each other.

It's sprint. It's always been sprint (well, in Reach it was sprint AND jetpack)
The clambering changes the way you can traverse the map, but that can be addressed by making walls higher or whatever. Sprint simply doesn't work with a game where you can't kill people as quickly as games that benefit from it, like COD or battlefield. Sprint has made Halo about surviving instead of map control.

Even if you kept every other Spartan Ability that's not sprint or one that's dependant on sprint (slide/charge) then you'd see a monumental increase in the quality of map variety and variarion.

They addressed one of the two problems about sprint by making it that you can't heal while you're doing it.
That was a big improvement.
But there's still the other problem: the effect it has on map layout.

Keep ground pound. I don't use it but whatever, it doesn't ruin the game, and it feels good to kill with it (and also to kill someone trying to use it)

Keep evade. It's not really a big game changer, but it's not hurting the map design.

Ground Pound, Evade, and clambering are all ideas thought up for the game. They're interesting and unique enough but don't really ruin the Halo feel.
Sprint and Smart Scope however are ONLY here because COD and Battlefield have them. They're here to appeal to the new generation of gamers and they serve no compliment to the Halo experience like the other Spartan abilities do.

I'll appealed that I'd be fine with clambering leaving appealed well, but that's more just on a personal level.

I bought the xbox halo5/gears bundle and haven't played halo since halo 2, halo 5 is fucking garbage the story and in game ai / dialogue / graphics are so fucking corny I couldn't play it, what the fuck. The old Halos are way better, how did it regress so much?

Nah. Not enough people are nostalgic for Reach and it still holds up enough graphically. ODST would be a waste of time for them. MAYBE if they did Halo 3, but H3A alone is already a stretch since the 10 year anniversary is this year and we've heard nothing about it.

VISR is useless. It's bright as day during nighttime, if it were partially cloudy.

>Halo 2 is missing graphics and lighting effects so armor no longer shines and shadow can barely be seen, color palette is washed out compared to the original and the game is brighter, plus some Elites don't dual wield like they should
>Halo 3 lighting is off, aiming is off, and sound effects are off

You know what I looked at some of the screens on the MCC version and it looks like thy fixed many of the shader issues, interesting. The one I posted must be the Xbox 360 version of HCEA.
