It's the curse of player guided content.

It worked really well when OSRS was struggling to get 15k players online so everyone playing had a genuine love for the game but now the majority is voting selfishly (this is the problem with RS3 polls)

So naturally Dclaws were polled and shot down a few years ago. Power creep is a big concern when your "end game" bosses are hilariously weak.
But now you saw "dragon claws" and the 75% majority thinks "I can't wait to rush people and crash bosses with those" instead of "those probably aren't good to have in game"

OSRS is going to die the same death of 1000 papercuts that RS3 did albeit a little slower. They're already under tremendous pressure from investors to turn a higher profit (admitted by JMods on reddit), bots/goldfarming is almost as bad as they were in 2007, and the community is starting to support bad (and overpowered) updates like Wintertodt, DClaws, Zenyte (Hydrix) Jewlery, etc.

RS3 and OSRS are very intertwined. They're both controlled by Jagex Ltd. which is controlled by whatever company owns it (previously IVP, now some Chinese company).

A lot of RS3 devs help out the OSRS team (which is minuscule in comparison)

If OSRS crashes and burns RS3 is fine. RS3 brings home the lion's share of profit for Jagex because of Microtransactions. It could honestly go on forever if even a small group of people are willing to shell out thousands of dollars a year (yes, people pay jagex thousands of dollars a year to get every outfit, pet, item, etc.)

However if RS3 dies OSRS is toast. OSRS simply isn't profitable enough. With membership costs and bonds they make enough to keep the lights on but that's wouldn't be enough to save them. The company would probably just close up shop and sell off the IP.

Chaotics aren't as amazing as they once were. Loads of other weapons that are easier to get. Sinkholes also make leveling dung fast as shit.

Even with this setup I still only ever manage to get 2:10-2:30 QBD kills.

Am I doing something wrong? Any tips? I haven't been using a combat familiar since people have said that they've done faster kills without using a combat familiar (they use a yak).

You misunderstand, it's not that your revolution bar sucks, it's that your threshold and ultimate usage sucks. Fix it.

Just watch a guide man, I'm sure there are tons on youtube. Only thresholds you should really use are snapshot, rapid fire, shadow tendrils. You usually don't want to use more than one threshold per phase to avoid dps waste although it might be different with lower tier gear. Should generally DS P1 too but even without using DS at all consistent 1:20 kills are very possible.

That is roughly what I do. Snapshot on p1 then auto attack, rapid fire on p2 then auto attack, then build adrenaline for DS for p3 and p4. Then buid adrenaline again for snapshot and rapid fire since they're off cooldowns by then. I only ever use bind or bombardment near the end if I need one more threshold to kill it and have both snapshot and rapid fire on CD.
