SMT4 is hard because it's designed like utter shit and is a RNG slot machine.

SMT4A is easier because it is designed a lot smarter, but the final boss is tougher than pretty much everything in 4 except post game/DLC.

I didn't play P4 above Normal but P4 wasn't hard at all.

How doyou add Atma demons to the party?
So far I've only been able to let demons and humans fight in the party, but the persona and the Atma user can't be set into any spot.

I started as a Summoner if it makes any difference. Clearly I won't be able to use the Persona, but I'm hoping the Atma user can sill be used.

Just beat Nocturne and I really enjoyed it. Combat was fantastic and the difficulty was fun even if it was frustrating at times. As for the story I thought there were some good ideas but somewhat poorly executed (mainly the characters being underdeveloped) but I did enjoy the minimalist world and environment of the game. Definitely my fav SMT thus far Nocturne > I > II > If

I liked the originality of the first a little more I guess? I'll never forget Thor secretly being the US ambassador and then when you beat him he starts a nuclear war and your characters disappear for 30 years. Whereas the general story of II was your character as a messiah whose supposed to save the world. That isn't to say its bad, I really liked the Chaos route where you side with Lucifer, its just a more standard story. Gameplay and the rest are close enough and otherwise their pretty equal.

Hi, /smtg/. I have a problem that's not directly related to Megaten games/manga, but I don't think /v/ or /pg/ know enough about Megaten to help me out.

I know that this is going to sound incredibly autistic, but I cannot function in social settings unless I imagine myself as a Megaten character. No, I don't go around saying "Hee-ho!" or try to summon demons or anything. I just feel myself with the overall demeanor of a Megaten character. I can pass off as a normie well with this.

I choose Megaten characters that already compliment my personality. My main 3 are Demi-fiend (When I'm feeling quiet but confident), YHVH (When I'm feeling a bit smug/cocky) and Nanashi (When I'm feeling a bit edgy). I also have a rotating list of Megaten characters that I can use. I've done Jack Frost, Yuriko, Metatron, Magatsu-Izanagi, Oni, Angel, etc...

But my problem is, I have a Christmas party with my co-workers tonight, and I'm not sure which Megaten character I should be. I want to be a bit more outgoing and talkative than usual, but not TOO much. I had a bad experience with Mastema this spring, when I got a bit TOO confident, so I don't want to use him. I'd like to try a SMTIV:FINAL character, but I'm not sure which once. I like Cleopatra, but I feel like she would make me come across as an autist. I was actually thinking about Raidou, but his chances of being in a new game hurts him a bit.

Do you guys have any ideas for a Megaten character that would be sociable and confident, but not too much so?

If you're playing the SFC version, make a save file in the second slot before the point of no return before the alignment lock events or the Ark, beat the game once, and reload the save file - you can enter Kongokai by talking to the NPC in the Underworld (pic related). Hope you've dumped every Incense into Aleph to pass through those closed doors.
If you're playing PS or GBA ports, Kongokai is NG+ only, so you have to restart the whole game to get there. Also, make sure your PS version has golden PRESS ANY BUTTON text on the title screen - that means the version you're playing is a bug fix revision (vanilla version with white text has a nasty bug on NG+ where you can't get items from treasure boxes).

Uriel learns Kannuki Throw, which can turn Masakado into a complete joke if you dump some dex incenses onto him along with other skills like phys boost/amp, bloody glee, charge, phys pierce, etc.

From what I heard/understand, Apocalypse is a sequel to IV? And that storywise, IV>Apocalypse, while gameplay Apocalypse>IV.
Which is the lesser of two evils and the one I should get?

Just finished Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker and enjoyed that one immensely for both the gameplay and character banters. Looking to play more of these games cause fusing overpowered demons is pretty fun.

This isn't relevant to anything ever, but right before I discovered megaten games, I made a blastworks stage where the end boss was lucifer trapped in ice. It was a featured stage, and one of the highest rated on the side. Unfortunately, nobody played blastworks, so there's no youtube videos of anyone playing it.

The stage starts in a modernist limbo with ladders in the background. You ascend up and the second part is in heaven. You go even higher and above heaven there's just emptiness of space with no enemies, which is meant to represent the ein from kabbalah, and the existential dread of whether there's purpose in life. Then at the end of the space segment you go back down past heaven and limbo into hell. And the very last last the last segment is you go off a burning waterfall down one more stage into the ice layer at the bottom of hell. The ground is ice, but with red fireballs falling in the background and lucifer is frozen in the middle as the boss. I think the overall stage is cool and would recreate it in a game anyone's ever actually played if I knew of any it was worth it in.

4A kinda continues from 4 but in the sense that it is an AU fanfic written by different people who clearly aren't going anywhere close to the same direction tonally or thematically.

4 has a few strong bits of atmosphere but the gameplay is such a mess. I don't think it's worth playing, but it isn't so terrible that it's unplayable.

Gameplay-wise, I think 4A is the strongest RPG gameplay Atlus has brought to the table in any game not named Tokyo Mirage Sessions or Etrian Odyssey. I think the gameplay alone is worth it. This was my final hacked 2DS backup before cleaning out the SD card of stuff not needed anymore after installing A9LH and the CIAs needed, but I did this all on a shitty 4gb SD card. I just need to get a new 16gb card and do a system transfer over.

The backup however from my other 3DS that was downgraded and hacked back in the glorydays of 9.2 looks like a mess compared to the A9LH method. Fuck RXtools and gateway.

And here's the SD/Folder for the 3DS I used to use that ran RXtools (then luma) and you had to do downgrading through Gateway and menuhax on 9.2. That shit back then took hours (5+) with tons of exploits failing due to instability leading to bricks and soft bricks.

11.2 and AL9H takes about 2-3 hours, even less if you've done it before and download all of the files needed in advance. Just follow the guide religiously and download the proper files (like the downgraders and FBI) or else you might brick, oh, and don't put a N3DS/2DS on sleep mode while on 2.1 when installing A9LH unless you enjoy bricks.
