The space pirate battlebote got an upgrade now it's also a functional U-bote with a minimal heat signature mode.

Even underwater, with the diesels running it could be thermal detected from 2.2km away which was fucking dildos. Strangely, steam boilers don't generate any heat so I installed a little 7 block turbine to maintain depth. It's so ridiculously efficient the ship can stay submerged near indefinitely using something like 0.3 materials/sec with heat detection radius of about 100m

The whole cat and mouse game with passive and active sensors and stealthy designs is pretty cool actually. I didn't know the alloy blocks were a radar stealth material until last night.

I want to do the spengies but don't know what I want to build even or build towards.

It turns out you -can- detect and intercept torpedos, they usually have a sonar so if you put passive sonar on your bote it picks them up.

Had some luck with interceptor torpedos and proximity fuses but they were too bulky to spam. 4 blocks or less would be perfect. Anti missile lasers work pretty well on torpedos but it would be nice to not need them.

Thanks to angled metal blocks being buoyant(!) the ship doesn't actually sink it needed a bunch of concealed props to submerge. I felt bad about those too so there are little intake ducts and outlets and stuff.

I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by hulloing really loudly.

Remove a few destabilizers. Weapons systems are useless unless you test them, and the numbers you're looking at there are useless unless they're taken under realistic conditions.

The way I test my lasers is by placing my camera directly behind the main laser block and holding the fire button, then seeing what those numbers do in the time it takes to recharge. If damage was originally 7000 and it goes back to 7000 a split-second before it's time to fire again (or if it's so close that you can't tell), you're good. If it fires when the damage has only come back to 5000, you're in trouble.

I don't get the appeal of laser systems. Sure they knock shit out of the sky well, but if you look at the amount of engine you need to run a good one it's just silly. Just about anything else will do better damage / material.

I mean, a great photon cannon needs about 10,000 engine, a great laser needs 45k to 75k. Once you get that big, even with steam, you'll have a massive engine. With the bigger engine you have to put more effort into protecting it, increasing the size of your ship. Smaller ships are harder to hit and repair faster in combat.

It just seems to me, the best way to go is small, efficient ships that have a huge burst damage they can get off right away. I've never bothered with defensive lasers or shields because most fights my ships kill the enemy before they get a chance to fire an entire volley.

They'd be armed with small agile missiles and smart bombs, allowing them to deal with far the most threats.

After the initial volley, or burst of missiles when the planes were all attacking from the same direction, they weren't able to do significant damage. x-30 garnet are expert level not godly my bad, 50 of them were spawned in for a total of 470k resources which is significantly more than the carrier at 270k
