Armor falls off around the 200 mark even if you have a lot of health. If the enemy carry is already fed there's nothing you can do but hope you can land some CC before you die so your team can carry. Or just splitpush if your team is doing that badly that Twitch isn't punished for focusing the tank.

Get out before you get sucked into a toxic community and have your day ruined by losing a game. It takes 2-4 weeks of farming in-game currency to afford a champ. It takes about 2 months to reach level 30 so you can be able to have a full mastery/rune page. It takes 2400 games to buy every rune. You are expected to have 10-20 rune pages. League is a grindfest and it doesn't help that Riot doesn't plan on making runes/champs/rune pages cheaper.

You will hate a lot of champs while you're new because a lot of champs are horrible without a proper Level 30 rune/mastery page.

Seconding these. If you've nothing binding you to this game, be it friends or because you're actually having a good time with it, do yourself a favor in advance and turn back.

There are so many games out there that provide you with over ten times the entertainment for one hundredth the effort and no risk of ruining your day. Before you actually get to play the game fully you have to trudge through hundreds of hours of torturous grinding, while teamed with and against some of the worst humanity has to offer. And the players never get better, and the bullshit really starts shining through when you get farther and gain an understanding for the game. The best time you will have with this game will be during the first 10 levels of it.

After 6 years of being hooked to this with only marginal entertainment derived for the last 4 of those, I've finally managed to detach myself from it, and I feel so good.

2 standard rune pages are fine (you don't need to know what the standard pages are right now, but you can come back and ask when you are high enough level to bother with runes, don't buy any runes yet) and play whatever champ is free. if you want to play ranked you'll need to be level 30 and own 10 champs, but get the champs that you like or are cheap. you don't need bazillion champs for each position and 20 rune pages.

also. this game is fun with friends, maybe not as much alone unless you like grinding (and a lot of people like grinding)
