What's the best normal for anti-airing at range with Chun-li on season 2? st.lk after the nerf gets beaten against some jump-ins (Ryu's j.hp and j.lk comes to mind), and st.hk is too slow to do on reaction. I had some mild success with f+mp against neutral jumps, but it trades a lot.

Akuma likes to extend his pressure by canceling into Demon flip, which can be interrupted. Look at a replay and take the info to training mode, explore ways to beat it.

-Look at the webm, I do the same combo twice in a row. How come in the second time, the combo counter is telling me I only hit twice? Am I doing something wrong? Does it even matter?

What do the "xx"'s mean between some of the inputs in the combos? Also, what does "stun mean"? Like in there it says for the first punish combo "(212 damage, 355 stun)".

-What is a "confirm combo" exactly? I look it up and they look like normal combos?

I'm in the same boat mate, something i found useful when practicing cancels was to set the dummy to block after the first hit, so if i dropped the combo i'd get immediate feedback.

Basically, a lot of normals in this game have very large windows where they are cancellable into special moves.
Mika standing heavy punch has a huuuuuge window so you can cancel things really late. The first picture is you hitting the cancel window nice and early, the second one is you hitting it really late (which is why it doesn't combo).
Don't bother waiting to do the special move, do it immediately after you input the heavy punch or else you might drop the combo.

Cancel. Like normal xx special move.

Stun means dizzy, the gold bar under the health.

Mika's best pokes are st.mk, cr.hp, cr.mk and st.hk.

You can't combo into grabs outside of supers and crush counter combos.

A 'confirm' combo just means you're doing something to give yourself enough time to judge whether you're hitting someone or they're blocking.

A 'punish' happens when someone does something really unsafe like a Shoryuken.

You should read around YouTube and Reddit for beginner's resources, it's much more helpful than this place. I'm sure you were viciously shitposted at while I was typing this.

xx = cancel

stun = how much stun gauge damage something does

confirm combo = a combo that you have to visually confirm whether or not your opponent got hit by the first few hits. If they blocked then you go into a safe blockstring or just drop the combo. If they get hit then you finish the whole combo.

For example, cr.lk, cr.lp xx tackle is a Urien combo

You have to confirm the cr.lk, cr.lp portion of it. If the cr.lk and cr.lp hit then you cancel into tackle. If they are blocked then you simply end the combo with cr.lp.

1. either you cancel into the flying peach too slowly, or you used the wrong punch button for the peach. it matters

2. xx means to cancel

3. dealing enough stun damage dizzies them. visible in the stun bar beneath health.

4. there are buttons with good speed and range, like cr.MK, but those aren't the only buttons you'll press. sometimes you want to press st.lp.

5. they're combos that you can see if they're hitting, then decide if you want to finish it with the ender, or change it to something else.

for mika, it could be st.LK st.MP. if you see that target combo hit, then you know you want to finish it with the flying peach. if you see them get blocked, then you STOP attacking, because you know your flying peach will get blocked.

6. a punish is done whenever you know something will, or has, happened. if you see yourself block their DP, if you see dhalsim start his teleport animation, if you see someone do their super, if you see someone throw a fireball, etc.

then you do the appropriate response you've practiced.

Yes. Set the dummy to "block after the first attack" to see for yourself.
In a true string (where the hit number keeps going up) your opponent can't do anything, if the number stops rising and you drop the combo and they are holding back or pressing buttons you'll lose.

Yes. A dropped combo mean exactly that you're opponent can block because you didn't continue hitting them while they were still in hitstun.

Often when this happens you're attacking with something that is punishable, meaning if you drop a that combo on a human opponent, they will combo you back for messing up.
