How can I have fun as a non-pyro caster?

Spamming Soul arrows is boring, Farron Flashsword is weak, soul greatsword takes so long to cast everythign just staggers me out of it. The late-game spells are okay but I'd like to have fun getting there.

I could go for miracles but it's pretty much the same problem. Takes a bit before getting lightning spear, then nothing until way later. I guess I could rush the DLC to get the Way of White Corona.

Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

The soul of cinder is apparently an amalgamation of every player character who has ever linked the flame in DS1 and DS2. This is why it switches between popular pvp builds every so often.

No one linked the flame recently before the ashen one in DS3, the whole circumstance of that game is an exploration of what happens when someone doesn't link the flame. The person who was supposed to was Prince Lothric, but he was like fuck that shit.

Best way to respond to seeding is to speedrun tactics the whole area and then camp the fog gate to the boss

Slap any armor that still allows you to fast roll.

The reason you should take bandit's over MLGS is that you need no str investment to wield it, it has bleed which is very strong when it does work and is faster for smaller stamina costs (important since you have low VIT). MLGS will hit harder than buffed knife though, pure magic damage is better.
You should also get a chaos or lightning weapon for when buffless.

Shields are useful for what if scenarios, like what if my roll fell just abit to early or short, with the shield there i dont take the brunt of the damage and i can recover from it rather than die.

BB didnt help me learn to play without a shield, shields just werent as useful, they maybe pretty similiar but still play differently, you should always have a shield in DS unless you are playing a specific build, its a lifesaver, thats what they are for.

With a +2 flame and 10/12 flame arc added 93, and at +4 it added 95, which is the same amount of AR lightning resin adds, though it lasts 90 seconds.

BW adds around 8% of your AR, so it's only going to add like 20 physical with a 200 something AR weapon that can't be twohanded.

Also consider using scholar ring for GMW, though the 12 faith wouldn't scale that upwards at all unlike flame arc.

Wat. Medium+ shields in make PvE in DaS3 a joke and are so incredibly useful that at the highest levels of the jap meta right now it's mostly BK shield and straight swords. Literally the meta is high stability shields made for blocking + straight swords, that's how good they are. Why? Because it allows you to get up in your opponent's face adding an extra layer of protection to compliment rolls instead of replacing them, allows you to still use any good powerful WA's (stance in this case which is OP as fuck) and with enough stat points put into END comparative to your SL and gitting gud at stamina management and block timing (p.s. you don't just hold up your guard 24/7 like a retard), it completely fucks over any weapon that doesn't have a guardbreak WA.

Shields are incredibly useful in DaS3 if you want to go that route. It's just that for whatever reason most scrubs don't know how to use them and get guardbroken, but in the hands of someone competent BK shield is literally the highest form of cancer in duels and hell even in invasions if you use a straight sword and git gud at backpeddling and turning-and-burning.

After literally hundreds of hours of muh honor duels I stopped and moved on to invasions because that shit seriously becomes boring as fuck at the high levels of play. My point was just that the anon I responded to said basically shields are meh if not shit, when in reality they're actually cancer at the highest levels of skill in PvP duels. Literally the kind of shields you block with, not parry with. Blocking while still being able to use WA's is where the meta winds up at the top, that's how good it is. I don't mind fighting ganks, I don't need 3v3's and shit. It's the summoner class bullshit that I can't stand because there is LITERALLY no way to beat it. If the host just runs/rolls away forever and never engages you and resummons his phantoms over and over and over again you literally have no way to win, even with WP running R1's they can just run and watch you and dodge when you attack, and even if you hit them a few times they have a million estus and iirc they get refills when you kill their phantoms too. I mean luckily it doesn't happen almost ever in low-mid level invasions but when it does I basically do like what I did in that post: I kill the phantoms until I get bored and then I crystal out after throwing a lot of dung pies at them.
