Steve playing as a new player will actually be bad for the game.

He's going to go through the new player experience, see how horrid it is, and spend all his time fixing that, which is good, but as horrible as the new player experience is, it's nothing compared to the OLD player experience. That's where Warframe's biggest problem lies: lack of endgame. Lack of content for veterans, lack of things to do, a lot of grind but nothing to grind FOR. And unless Steve plays 1k+ hours (which he is NEVER, EVER going to do), none of that will be addressed.

In the next several months, expect a lot of changes for new players while veterans continually get kicked to the curb.

The new player experience is already been worked on several times, that was the entire point of starchart 3.0. Without a complete rework of the tutorial (which wont happen any time soon, its just fine) they really have no major changes to make. The lategame content they have been talking about is still on the table, and even if they havent done anything in that direction Steve knows how important it is.

I said it in the last thread and god damn did it trigger TQ and Lucy so it must be right but Steve has a definite vision of the game and takes it personally, in a good way, when the experience fails to match up to the intent.

He guest starred on Prime TIme once and it turned the whole stream into a live bug report and feedback thing where he took a bunch of notes and they fixed the overwhelming majority of the problems that were bought up.

He looked crushed by the end of that Prime Time.

Except the new star chart is even more confusing for new players. In the old system, as soon as you killed Vor, you unlocked Mars and Venus, and you also unlocked Mercury before killing Vor. Finally, all you had to do to unlock more planets was just work your way to the Assassination mission and kill the boss.

Now, after killing Vor you're just kinda dropped off on Earth. Yeah, it's pretty clear how to unlock new planets, but Junctions take a lot more time and effort compared to before. You have to unlock two planets, Venus and then Mercury, before you get your next quest.

Hammers can be good for stealth because they get a bonkers stealth hit multiplier. Not as good as a Covert Lethality dagger but still really good for that.

Problem is their limited reach and the fact that maxing them out requires a lot of mods and Endo, with some mods a pain for starting players to get.

Ordis called Helminth a 'biological archive' and Simaris being able to pull memories from the flesh of ancients have proven that part too. The charger/warframe connection doesn't really have any significance since we've seen any applicable material can be used by Technocyte to form a consciousness.
