On another note, how would you feel if another class had access to assault rifles? I always get sad that I have to play a heal slut just to use the Gauss Rifle. I feel like it could be reasonable on an engineer or light assault if you took away one of the slots for other items, or had some other restrictions like less efficient jump jets or slower running. I'd gladly have a class slot without c-4 or mines if it meant reaching out a little farther.

Well not exactly the same, but buffs like it.
0.06 bloom increase per bullet at the very least, but I'd personally combine it with a damage increase to 215 per bullet as well

Battle rifles infringe too much on scout rifles and high damage LMG's - the battle rifle is basically a really terrible scout rifle/LMG crossbreed. If I were going to uncukc the AMR, warden etc, I'd basically make it the exact same thing as the pre-existing semi-auto scouts. They work great as medium-short range weapons that can be used at long range if really necessary.
Shadow and Impetus are basically what battle rifles SHOULD be. Of course, it'd necessitate removing the gun from heavy assaults, but I don't have a problem with that. HA's get too many toys as it is.

I'll have to check the saw's stats again, but from what I recall, the Godsaw gets a large hipfire CoF buff compared to the gauss saw, and the attachments it comes with (Compensator and foregrip) give a better bonus than the same attachments on the gauss.

It's a gun that doesn't know wtf it's trying to do.
- 100 round magazine but can't fire more than 3-4 rounds without getting full-retard CoF
- Inexplicably long reload
- The damage doesn't compensate for the decreased reliability of dealing it - especially when the server lags to shit, which seems to be even more common now
- DPS is lower than CQC LMGs - all of which are effective within the gauss saw's range bracket despite being CQC
- You HAVE to burst fire multiple times to kill a target - a 6-7 round burst is too inaccurate, so it's usually [burst 3, burst 3, burst 3]
- 3 headshot kill is massively overrated - When it comes to stringing headshots, the vast majority who can do that reliably are running aimbetter.exe; higher RPM guns like the anchor are doing it better regardless
- You have to stand still for effective use, which makes you an easy target
- You can't easily lead into targets; hope your burst had the right lead and if not, try and compensate for the next burst rather than walking rounds in
- ~50-70m where it gets its best performance compared to other LMGs is still piss easy to dodge into cover and avoid dying to it, and most other LMGs are good enough to compete at that range anyways
- There's not a lot of fighting that even occurs at 50-70m where the high acc/dmg at range helps in the first place
In Summary: Starts out the gate with lower DPS than other LMG's, then you lower it more because burst firing is mandatory. Then it gets unreliable because of network issues, then it's not even great in its best range bracket, and finally nobody even fights much at that range anyways.
Its reputation makes it out to be a much better gun than it actually is, and any time someone happens to criticize it, everything is just dismissed as "well you suck at the game" - meanwhile the people saying this still have better performance with every other NC LMG in their DA profile.

It absolutely wouldn't. It only takes a couple rounds missing to completely offset the saw's range advantage, and good players will immediately juke into cover if you catch them unprepared for the situation.
The horizontal recoil that you think is non-existent, actually matters a ton at the range the saw is best used at and has a more significant impact due to the lower RPM. Horizontal recoil is a hard-limit on the range of a weapon. Once a target is smaller than the angular distance between maximum horizontal recoil jumps it becomes unreliable. The Saw has low horizontal recoil because it's meant for long range, but it's still high enough to make it more and more unreliable as you approach ~70m.
If you're using a 1x or 2x scope, especially with higher FoV you are never going to notice the horizontal recoil, but then you've also set yourself up to fight at CQC ranges with a long range gun - so how could you?
Additionally, the saw does have a FSM, and a very strong one. I think you mean the starting CoF is 0 when you stand still - which is nice, but doesn't really do much in most serious combat situations. Any target you plink at is usually far enough away that a little juking makes them almost impossible to hit reliably, and then you're usually better off with bursts, rather than trying to predict someone's zig-zag and jumpchugging movements.

It needs to be used from the back to support people, but when someone thinks "light machine gun" they picture a bullet hose, not what is effectively a lower damage warden with a 100 round magazine and useless full-auto fire. Most of the noobs I've talked to about the gauss don't even realize it should be burst fired. It's a fully automatic 100 round magazine machine gun. It doesn't make sense to burst fire it, and especially not 3-4 rounds at a time.

In all honesty suppressors should actually increase the bullet velocity by 5-10% while simultaneously decreasing, but not removing, the detection radius when firing, and it should still have a pretty significant sound to it.
Then there should be an additional subsonic ammo option that massively reduces bullet velocity, but makes the gun basically 100% silent with the suppressor.
High velocity should be like +50% velocity and go through people and ricochet

I legitimately quit within the first year of planetside 2 coming out because of prowlers.
This was back when they got massively overbuffed with extra velocity and shit, and bases hadn't been redesigned to help prevent spawn camping yet. So every single TR fight, literally, was just a bunch of prowlers spamming HE shells at the spawn room.

I learned to aim better as a market jew until I'd made 50 billion isk, and then I realized there literally wasn't anything else in the game I enjoyed doing - not combat, industry, mining, exploration, missions, salvage, etc. for me to burn the money on.
Most of the stuff you do in the game is for the sake of earning isk. Well, nothing pays remotely as well as market jewing, and nothing is genuinely fun to do by itself - except ironically enough, the market jewing.
So I unsubbed and uninstalled the game. I'll go back if they unfuck the combat system and add some content that involves doing shit because it's fun, and not because it makes you money.

Region trading is where the big bucks are. Easier bucks, too. Flipping in stations is mind-numbing and you'll burn out/rage. (And there's a shitton of bots you're competing with)
Don't haul stuff yourself unless you're a big stickler on playing fast/loose. You'll make more money, more quickly, but having someone else haul for you is like paying for insurance. IIRC prices are usually something like 500k - 1m isk per jump, depending on how out-of-the-way it is, plus 1% or 10% of the collateral on what's being moved. There's a hauler channel where you can link contracts for haulers to grab.
The higher the price you offer, the faster your shit gets picked up - but it pays to get some actual contacts. You don't want small shit getting nabbed by some guy flying a providence when you could have a friend in a blockade runner doing the trip in 1/20th the time.
Good spreadsheets matter, too. You can create your own or buy some (check forums for spreadsheets to buy, prices are ~1 billion isk for the whole trading package I think)
Region trading is all about finding what's in demand and satisfying that demand. I can't really help you on that since it's a lot of intuition and reading the markets. You'll definitely want to know what everything means in the market graph. It's a lot of stuff, you just gotta do research and read guides and spend time on it.
The best time to make isk btw is with patches. Read patch notes, figure out what the changes mean, invest accordingly.

Someone wanted to be kept posted about [TENC] (Templars of the New Conglomerate) I'v spent about two weeks with them, requirements are Teamspeak, and the ability to follow orders quickly and effectively.
I highly approve of this outfit. strong focus on tactics and strategy over numbers.
there has been an outfit squad up almost everytime i log on (9am - 10pm central) and there are always members hanging out on teamspeak discussing game mechanics, reporting on continent conflicts, and discussing other various topics. drama is low. the core group appears pretty tight-knit. Racist slurs are thrown about. if your from the south or a mixed inner city, this will be nothing new, if you're more liberal leaning, it might be jarring.
play-style is dependent on who is leading.
sometimes the outfit leader "Wargasm" gets drunk and leads open platoons, at other times he is grooming his outfit officers for leadership positions. His style is influenced by his military background, and it shows.
WaaWaa is an officer and enjoys guerrilla tactics, zerg breaking and harassment. he will lead up to two small tight squads for some highspeed spec ops shit.
I had no idea who WaaWaa was before i joined the outfit, and it turns out he holds the high score for the entire game.
The other officers are still learning and are often thrust into leadership positions with mixed results, but are generally more successful than not.
The outfit has its own webpage and has contests to pass out free certs and daybreak cash. we did an Ant race from our warpgate to the VS warpgate, with many Ants falling to dangers along the way. WaaWaa awarded the winner with 10,000 certs.

You are literally nerfing a weapon that, prior until two people from my outfit started using it consistently, nobody gave a fuck about. Were there threads about it prior? No. Did people want it nerfed prior? No.
Vehicles have already lost their teeth for the most part and are laughably underwhelming. Changes like this are going to encourage a pseudo arena shooter aspect, something this game should NOT strive to do.
And what happens when everything besides pure, honorable infantry bushido is gone? The game dies. What will set it apart from other games? Absolutely nothing that other first person shooters already do on their own, and much more successfully.

Not tears though. I could still easily vehicle farm if I want to. Kobalt ANT's remain broken as fuck, harasser AI is still entirely viable, renegade flashes can still farm up a storm, long distance HE is untouched (if anything, buffed due to c4 resistances now apparently).
The over-all game flow is going to be worse now though. If I wanted a game of infantry, I'd play something better. Wrel is clearly trying to goad it into that infantry direction. I'd have preferred they just cut the thermal range down significantly, so shitties could try get their deci game on, and all classes of vehicle could still impact the fight.
