How come hammer burst is such an unpopular weapon in horde?
Its max ammo and magazine size is small compared to other rifles, but It has great precision. it's still arguably the best assault rifle for long range.
Why I rarely see it on a kill log besides mines. even soldiers I play with don't use it.
Come to think about it, I didn't see people used it much in GoW3 horde either.

In gears 3 in insane horde with 3 hard mutators is the best secondary weapon.

Having a chainsaw doesn't give you much benefit in Horde 3.0 since there are no sires or drudges. also the aggressive AI makes it more difficult and risky to approach the enemy.
Only enemies you can safely use a chainsaw to are deadeyes and juvies but their health are low so you can just shoot them instead.

Joined a game half way through, war zone 3v2 in our favour but this guy was sat back camping on a buzzsaw, other 2 were getting outplayed. I pretty much agree with all that, but i'd swap out Speyer for Drydock personally. I cant say i run any maps all that optimally though, it's usually pick a spawn and hope for the best or hold it down in a building or some structure to protect you from boomshots that can headshot you from across the map.

I know that feel, out of my group of friends there was only one other person who bought the game, and almost never plays. When he does play it's exclusively horde, he hates versus. I have met some pretty cool people online though, so I can get a group going every once in a while to play versus, which is nice.

I think it's four character skins, and two of every weapon skin except for the Markza, which only has an elite(blue) skin because the default skin is UIR themed already.

Regarding the versus, I think it's extremely good, but there is a pretty big skill ceiling that doesn't necessarily have to be met, but certainly helps. I think it really drives people away who try it and are constantly being crossed, or bounced on and bodied. I try so hard to get my friends into it, but they always give up way too early even if I'm being supportive.

Wew lad! Don't go setting yourself up for disappointment. As far as I know there's still no official date for when the UIR packs get pulled. We do know that the Christmas packs will be pulled on the 4th, and that we have a tittle update on the 10th, but they were very vague on when the UIR will be no longer available.

Gears is far from dead. Dead on PC maybe, but Gears has more players on it right now than Halo 5 if that mean anything.

The problem is right now that all staple game series' are coming to an end in popularity because of how big the industry has gotten. Kids can't hold an attention span for more than 2 seconds these days and they are making games at such a fast rate that people are so spread out now. Not to mention the MOBA cancer has taken over along with le ebil esprots on csgo and overwatch.

Gears, Halo and COD are dying out, but at least Gears is going out on a good note. I hope our Halo bro's have a good death when the time comes with a better Halo than what 5 offered. I pre-ordered Halo Wars 2 actually.

Shit, senpai it's a lot to type on. Essentially you need a soldier with hammer strike, a scout with level 5 deposit, and an engie, along with two other people. The engie sets up two turrents in a spot on Foundation, that dictate spawns, the scout is in a glitch spot behind the fabricator and two decoys, that allows him to get all the energy dropped on the map without moving, and the soldier hammerstikes every 4-10 wave. It gets each wave done in like, a minute or so

What I really hate is they turned this into a personal story, and that only works if we actually cared about the characters in it, and they did a piss poor job making us care at all. We needed to know more about the Swarm, and the Psions other than, oh the locust are still around and Swarm were just people put in pods(which I think has to do with imulsion). They also did a super poor job of showcasing the COG. All we know about the modern COG is its somehow ran by a woman who was a child when E day happened, so how she's qualified over so many other veteran COG, I'm not sure. She's also a running joke throughout the game who apparently has no limits to what she's allowed to do, because she send an unbelievable amount of DeeBees and resources after a bunch of kids for the stupidest reason ever. That had to cost an insane amount of money/resources to the COG, and just makes them feel silly and unbelievable.

The prior games felt like you were doing things that impacted the large scale, and still you cared about the people on the story. I'm probably just being too critical, but I was pretty let down by the writing even though the gameplay was fantastic

Once Tannehill get's back in if we beat the Steelers it's going to be a rough ride for both us and the Pats. Gase has done wonders for the Phins this season and I think it will only get better.

Ajayi, Landry, Parker and Stills are a huge threat to the Pats and they know it. Bellichick has even said Ajayi is a scary RB.

Yeah that's all true too. It's kind of hard to care about any of these characters when they seem so devoid of personality, the overall story too was pretty unfocused which is something the past games never really had to deal with. You know what was going on and what you were working to accomplish.

I dont think criticizing the story and characters is a big deal when it deserved. It's not like Gears ever had a deep and compelling narrative but it was at least functional and well put together enough to get you invested in the characters and the world.

Personally i kind of have a problem with the giant mechs too. I cant put my finger on it but something about just their existence diminishes the technology the series seems to have established for itself. It's more high sci-fi where as gears always had an "industrial punk" or something aesthetic going on for it. Technology was pretty advanced but was never so neat and streamlined. We had mech battle suits in past games but they were all big and bulky and retro-futuristic enough.

I just need female elite uir. Gonna keep handing over all my credits. Haven't bought a horde pack in a month between uir and gearsmas. Never going to get more skills to lvl 5.

Maybe out of the blue isn't the best way to put it, it's more of a temper tantrum that just completely doesn't match his character and felt really forced, it didn't help that both the other characters were in "shock", and their voice acting was just not appropriate for what just happened. My friend also made this point, but it's more of a joke than an actual complaint and wouldn't really hold up in an argument against the game, but he said it felt funny how JD acted like a prick to his dad the whole time, and the whole freaking out when he got taken was too much of a moodswing for him.

i don't think it's much of a stretch. there's plenty of relationships in the real world like that. marcus has a pretty hard shell so it's not a surprise to me that JD would grow up having a weird relationship with his father. i felt like they were both acting like pricks at different times but i never felt like they didn't love each other as father and son. i guess for me, not fully understanding what their relationship is like is what led me to overlook aspects like you mentioned.

AFAIK from the campaign, the crystals formed around the locust after the Big Blue Blast hit them. It didn't do anything to already dead grubs which is why you see their skeletons (somehow still jointed together despite missing all flesh) in Tollen Dam

This is literally the hardest campaign of any Gears. Who the fuck looked at this and thought, "Yeah, this is good." Were they aiming for Dark Souls level of fucking bullshit or what? You literally cannot survive this fucking pounce attack. I haven't been in a chainsaw duel yet but I assume it's the same bullshit. Clip is old because of how long it takes to show up on the website. Currently defending the museum from the Swarm attack and it's getting bullshit. It's really fucking retarded how literally everything will kill you in 1-3 hits. Mostly 1 and 2. Hammerburst and Lancers are really the only thing that kills in 3 hits but it's not like it matters since they hit so fast.

At Act 4: Chapter 5, you shouldn't electrify swarmack because it triggers off enemies spawning instead you can just blindfire Lancer. there is an infinite bullet box. you can kill swarmack about 1300-1500 bullets even without exposing its weakpoints.

Is it me or are enemies ridiculously fucking aggressive in this game compared to the others? I'm constantly getting rushed by motherfuckers from 100 yards away only for them to 1-hit melee my ass. One of the most frustrating things about horde 3.0 enemies is bolo grenades throwing by grenadiers.
As soon as I see they're throwing a bolo grenade at me I try to keep distance as far as possible but it's really hard to get away from it even if I react instantly I end up with getting down so many times.

Anon I have a question. does dropshot have a skin that features a grey colored frame?
Two days ago I found an unfamiliar, toy-looking dropshoot hanging on an weapon locker when I played horde on Lift. it looks like the pic, but still no idea what skin it might be.
All dropshot skins I know are, Normal, UIR Elite, UIR, Zommbie, DTD Vintage and Black steel but it didn't look like any of them.

Should I buy some packs now or wait until the update?

Usually a sign of pretty noobish players. It's just more distance for the scout to run back and deposit. It's fine to keep it more toward the front of spawn, sometimes it even makes perfect cover for team mates to fire weapons like snipers and heavies.

I've been seeing a lot of people who are quite good at Horde, but will quit the second anything goes wrong. It's a shame to lost people just because someone got caught by a surprise frag or hail mary boomshot once. It used to be that more of the bad/new players would quit a lot and that the few good players were solid, now it's kinda backwards.
