I don't have any EVO drops. I decided to run Wight King because Rune does not, from what I've observed, run hard removal and Wight King is a card they would have to devote an inordinate amount of resources to getting rid of. It's already observable in Tenacious Ghost when he's evolved, so I imagine a 4/5 Ward with Bane would give them even more pause. I've yet to really use it but I'll blog about it eventually. The other 4 drops I use are Necroassassin and Phantom Howl, and I have Cerberus for the 5 slot.

I dropped Urd because she's pretty shit without having something that can provide meaningful value on the board and honestly Necroassassin and Soul Conversion are enough for LW procs.

Shadow doesn't need an evolve drop. Their decks are either so fast they're evolving to hit face, or they're so slow that anything that isn't good after turn 6 is a liability.

Control Blood is only good if the player knows their matchups and makes plays accordingly as opposed to just playing on curve. I have success with it and believe it's Tier 1/2, but others would disagree since they don't have success. Play what you want in the end.

i'm fucking dead before i can whip them out, and while dire bond is useful, mary is just there to die horribly. don't survive long enough vs haven/dragon or any decent decks to luck out on dire/mary combo

I always hated when dirty lesbian maid players called a deck "control". More than half of your deck is proactive. You have 6 storm followers (not Rush, Storm). You have fucking Sage Commander. You're running Dance of Death over Execution or any other removal.

That isn't control, it's a slower Sword deck that is teched against other aggro.

For effects like Khawy's "strongest follower," how does the game decide tiebreakers between cards with the same attack?

I was facing a guy with an evolved Fangblade and Frontguard General, both 5 attack, and Khawy took out the Fangblade when the opponent killed it with a third card. Does it look at the defense on the event of a tie, or was this random?

Anyone have a new aggro shadow list? Other than Reaper I don't think it got any new cards.

Pure Elana's relationship with Seraph hasn't changed. It's more consistent and less powerful, nothing's changed about that. Frog's better than expected and Uriel has tested well for me, only gets Elana a third of the time but I've never felt bad about getting Plea or Aria because Pure Elana has a stronger early game.

I actually think Pure Elana might be better than Seraph Hybrid right now having messed around with both. It's got a significantly stronger aggro match up, still an auto loss to DShift and I haven't run into any PtPs yet but the trade off is worthwhile.

Ancient Lion has tested well against aggro, the difference between 5 and 6 is important. I've ditched Cudgel entirely for 3 Sledgehammer and 2 Lion. I was interested in Tribunal but it's tested very poorly for me.

I don't mind ward followers even if they're technically proactive, that's fine.

But Sword as a class just doesn't lend itself to being a true control deck. They designed it to be the curve out aggro zoo class (something Hearthstone shitters understand), and some of the genuine control cards in the class like Alexander people don't even run anymore.

Really not a fan of all the new playable random effects in this expansion. Less Hearthstone please.

Sexton is just a dude. I might take him out for Dark Conjurer unless Haven picks back up again and even then I'm not sure it would even matter much since Storm Haven is a pretty even matchup and Elana will beat you because of the heals more than anything. The only time I really did anything impressive with him was this Phantom Howl wipe. Wight King is just there to give me a strong turn 4 option when I'm on the play, and to prey on Runes since from what I've seen they don't run hard removal. I only just added it though so I'm not certain yet.

The issue anon is that the whole Discard engine is too big and you need a lot of those cards to make the sinergies work, and that makes you have to run subpar cards that aren't the best in the early game or ramp you into strong late game, for example:

t1 pass
t2 discard girl or some of the discard dudes
t3 set up an amulet/gryphon
t4 search for amulet/phyroxene/sigfried
t5 IF you have board control ramp with the healing spell shit
t6 dragon rider that reduces cost by 2
t7 dragoon (reduced in 2 by the rider from t6)

Like you aren't doing shit on t1, t2 you play a regular stated minion, t3 you concede the tempo, t4 and t5 you try again to fight back for the board, t6 you try to not get killed and set up a board wipe with a t7 Dragoon
That gameplan is really dependant on a lot of ifs and whens, and the card quality is not really high either.
After testing the deck the last few days I believe the best would be to adopt a strong early game that either heals, wards or ramp like regular Ramp Dragon, and cut some of the weakest discard cards even if that reduces the overall sinergy.
Im really going hard on trying to make this work.

After about a month I realized I would never enjoy the playstyles of Forest or Haven so I liquefied everything in them. Now my packs give more vials than usual and I have multiple expensive decks for the other 5 crafts.

I was running Cudgel's initially but Sledgehammer tested way better. She hits Albert, Daria and the shit Ramp Dragon puts out then swings at a wide array of 2/2s. Being a point lower on the curve means I can play her naked on 3 when I miss Elana.

I ran Cudgel during DE but I haven't found him to have much value in Rise so far. Cudgel's better in a perfect game but Sledgehammer does much more work when things are going poorly. Having X into Y into Z just isn't something that can be counted on.
