By now most people have seen several posts and memes regarding “ADC 2016 LUL” and the like. Regardless of your stance on Marksmen balance there is one true statement you can’t take away from those complaining: it’s no longer a fun or rewarding role to play. So what is the actual problem, are Marksmen underpowered? Is it itemization? Do tanks or assassins simply do too much damage? To be honest, I think it’s a fairly complicated problem to solve, which has been constantly demonstrated by Riot trying to figure out how to balance this class without them either being grossly overpowered or seriously underpowered. I’m actually a Support main and have played through Diamond I on several occasions but I really enjoy playing the Marksmen role any chance I get. So let’s talk about a couple of the main factors.
The Marksmen role has a vast skill ceiling. The people who are truly gods when they pick up these projectile-slinging killing machines can do some serious work in the competitive Elos. However, Marksmen also have a pretty high skill floor, meaning mediocre players can really struggle when it comes to carrying within this role. Similarly, people who are really bad at the role are…really bad. This alone makes it hard to balance Marksmen because it’s hard to set up the role in a spot where it feels good for the plebeians but isn’t brokenly overpowered for those who have mastered the craft.
Itemization. This is a big one. People don’t realize how constricted the Marksmen build pathing is. Looking outside in everything looks great: you have several different MR items which also provide AD, you can go GA if you need armor/one-shot protection, and you even have some offering health. Selection isn’t the issue. The issue involves a few things: crit reliance, effective health, and the purpose of the role. First is the crit reliance. While there are definitely exceptions, most Marksmen rely on crit in order to output damage. And in order to have enough cr

This is obviously a reddit post but I'll use this as a chance to discuss anyway.
The biggest problem of the adc class is it's too narrow of an idea to be an entire class. They all need to be ranged, strong in the late game (compared to something like panth which falls off harder than any adc), can't miss their main damage source, and to keep this all in check they need to be weak early, squishy, and provide very little utility to the team. It's like if instead of top lane, we had tryndamere lane, with various flavors of tryndamere, but with all the exact same set of core weaknesses and strengths.

i've been in many games, both with and without camille on my team.

i've seen camille jungle, camille top, camille support (lmao), people don't really think too hard in normals. camille jungle is gabr, camille top is reasonable and the one camille support i've seen was a fill who decided to be an asshole.

she's pretty easy to fight against, most of her attacks can be dodged, except the hookshot, which is the most OP part about her.

she's just jarvan iv with pretty intense balancing issues.

she doesn't really warrant the ban every other game, people should use that for chemotherapy.

I get a double kill on ezreal at about level 5 or so and my first back is tear and sheen.
meanwhile mid and top have both died twice in this timeframe, and our rengar died in a 1v1 vs their jungler.
it was like 2 deaths a minute for a solid few minutes.
my jungler kept trying to gank other lanes, even after the enemy vayne had shown she was stupid beyond belief.
eventually I get 4 man doved a couple times and my lead has diminished and we are 2 inhibs down by 21 minutes, after their 20 minute 3 man baron.
