Let's talk about this little jewel.

It came from nowhere to me since I lost contact with everything Ankama for an entire year since Wakfu literally burned my brains out thanks to all that concentrated autism that is multiboxing. I enjoyed it a lot, but it was killing me (I'll be back when the ouginaks are back anyway.)

WELL, about the game itsefl, is a lot of fun! A nice mix of strategy and card games. Is easy to learn, hard to master. The UI could be better, but is very readable, specially compared to all the other card games out there that are a complete mess (eternal, etc.) The graphics and animations are nice; if you played an Ankama game before you can expect the same quality work. It makes me happy to think they'll improve it even more since is barebones as it is right now.

TONS of waifus, both in cards and goddesses. This is important stuff. Also, they are adding more later on. Sad that Cleophee (my gf) isn't on the game yet, but surely added later.

AMAZING game if you love the Ankama universe. They were giving out a million gold packs this past week. Look for codes. There is 2 right now you can redeem (KROSMAGABETA and ANKAMA2017)

My issue with Shadowverse is that is literally Hearthstone with some tweaks here and there. I already played that game, and got bored the heck out of it. On waifu talk, is the same. All the girls look the goddamn same, and they don't have a cute 2D animated avatar I can look at.

All the Ankama universe have a unique look I'm really fond of. It stands out. Xavier Houssin is a nice artist.

Nah the problem wasn't the dev response, they were scrambling to fix everything that broke and go back on like 99% of the promises it made before launch. Then had to go F2P and bleed every last talented dev they had because of how hard it crashed out of the gate.

The game today is good, but a shell of its former self since it was gutted difficulty wise and everyone's afraid the axe is about to drop with how shitty it's doing income wise.

i personally hate that armor break or whatever system.

I know it was something good to reward players for good play, but at the same time in group and raids, you needed an insane amount of the breaks that weren't too viable except for more organized peeps. I loved it at first til I saw how much things reliable of breaking or died.

Also not a fan of instant death mechanics. Sure if giant "YOURE GONNA DIE IF YOU DONT DO X" whatevers happen its a ok. But jesus that one volcano dungeon with the last boss was brutal, especially if a person had any sort of lag or got caught in the stun things or whatever.

I haven't played it in half a year though so no idea how its doing nowadays.

Ya it had high difficulty but there's a difference between "man that was rewarding difficulty" vs "god I hope i my 3 cool downs are up for the next interrupt and the other group uses theirs correctly."

I feel like I played this game way to late, as a new player you're so hyped up to train and eventually do difficult stuff with other players, trying to imagine what skills to train first with your limited AP to assist your party members with and pull through tough cool dungeons.

Then you grow up and do a dungeon and everyone is rambo with rambo prime cash shop pets, I felt useless during group content and the only real social aspect of the game was a bunch of people sitting around in town hotspots showing off their gamble box clothes on limited timers, chatting or argueing.

Also the combat is janky as fuck, it feels like you're rubberbanding 24/7 in that game.

The last boss of that volcano dungeon was my second favorite boss in an MMO so far. It was punishing but once you knew it, it was really fun. It also helped that balance was based on people fucking up so if you were a tank you could solo it when everyone else died.

I liked the break system for the reasons you hated it really, it required and rewarded a communicated and skilled team. I thought it was a good change when they nerfed it to the point where someone who knew what they were doing could handle most of the important stuff themselves outside of raids, though. Usually at least one other person would be able to throw one for the boss and the kick guy knew what to do for trash.

I don't like the fact that racials are so relevant. Even in vanilla WoW the racials aren't even as important compared to TESO.

It seems like bullshit play to try and milk some money from race changes. And I care too much about end-game PvE progression to actively make a character that preforms significantly worse than if I were to just play as a different race. Since the only role that interests me in TESO is healer I think I'm shit out of luck.

Played it. Tried 20 or so unranked matches. Lost all of them.
The game is hard on f2p players. It's almost impossible to make a decent deck and have to rely on RNG boosters. Not to mention that they're hard to get.
You can't recycle cards unless you have 4 of them. Quests are limited so once you run out then you can't get Kamas to buy packs anymore.

You have to recycle 15 common cards to make 1 common. That's enough for me to stay away.

WoW a shit, people played it because it was the most accessible casual MMO and it had a huge fanbase thanks to the RTS games. Most current F2P games offer more content than your precious vanilla WoW ever did, and with better graphics/gameplay too.

Well, there goes your BIG mistake: you played unranked. The idea, the way you grow up here, is playing ranked. Why? Because the first real quest you get leads you there, meaning ALL the new players start playing on ranked. From 1 to what, 16? Everyone is using basic decks. I went on a 18 win streak using only my basic Cra deck. Got a million achievements on the way, and got enough gold to buy a good amount of booster packs. Even got the luxury of getting a gold one for the 5 infinites reward.

Did you get your free gold pack? Try to always see the site for more giveaways. They have been very generous with them this week. All in all, yeah, you should, you MUST start playing on ranked. Unranked have all the +600 hours guys bored of getting their asses kick on high ranked.

Standard tab targeting rpg combat system, nothing fancy. Music and "special effects" are strong sides of this game.

The gameplay is so simple and sanitized that you could fall asleep at the wheel and still succeed. A cure 3 isn't a better cure 1. Bards aren't really buffers. BLM spells aren't any special because every monster takes = damage from anything a la wow, and so on.

Yea the CC is pretty bad, I made a decent enough female with a certain face and makeup/hair combo to help hide things, but i could only find one combination of things to make a passable character to me. The clothing is pretty decent once you get past it though, and the game is a lot of fun if you like figuring things out, if you are just going to look everything up with a guide though i really wouldn't see the point of playing the game at all. The combat and animations are not good enough to be worthwhile if you're not into the investigation elements.

None of them are right for you because all of them are shit and based off of flawed RPG mechanics. Go play any old RPG where there's a ton of grinding, then imagine yourself surrounded by hundreds of other people doing the same, and you'll find out what MMOs are like.

That said, there are only a few types of MMOs:

- The "Theme Park" MMO
As the name implies a setup not with genuine gameplay in mind, but a series of set pieces which are pretty to look at and may offer short to medium durations of enjoyment, but ultimately get stale if not updated, and will be discarded by the thrill-seeking player. PvP is usually just another poorly thought-out "attraction" for the theme park

- The "Shooter" MMO
A theme park MMO with only one "attraction" which is often centered on PvP challenges could be considered this. Don't expect to actually be doing the aiming/shooting yourself, though. You can definitely expect the RPG bullshit to bleed in and end up restricting your character from using certain guns for reasons of "class" or "level"

- The "Survival" MMO
The most game-oriented of MMOs, that offers both PvE and PvP, with wider variety of carebear or brutality designs (sometimes in the same game at once) RPG bullshit certainly exists, but is taken as incidental to the actual game rather that an intentional hinderance to "slow down the rides" found in theme park MMOs. If there is world mutability (terraforming) expect all sorts of fuckedshit and community drama from massive amounts of autism, when the zen gardener building their perfect digital home encounters the barbarian hordes.

Subclass:
- Cash shop pay-to-win money extractors
- Korean-tier level grinding that "requires the use of teamwork to succeed"
- "Not actually an MMO" because having a few hundred online at once is just as much as a few thousand, right?

Its uhhhhh... different. There's almost no similarity to post-wow mmos so I'm not sure how to describe its fun.

Everything is open world, including end-game content (some instancing on the live, progression servers to prevent Super Ultra Neckbeards from monopolizing the content, yes that is a thing). Lots of side grade-style equipment and can wear majority of the gear, including some of the best, at level one if you have access to it.

There's no homogenization in classes unless you count hybrids. Each class is unique in its own right.

Unless you play certain solo friendly classes (Necromancers in particular) you're gonna have an extremely bad time trying to do anything. This is heavily group and community based. Also prepare to look for group, sometimes even hour or so at a time if you play the less needed classes. Almost guaranteed to get groups on the spot as a Tank (Warrior, Paladin, Shadow Knight), Cleric, and Enchanter.

Leveling and treasure hunting is done primarily by killing monsters in a certain area, usually done via a puller (usually monk or rangers). And doing so over and over again, as was the style of pre-wow mmos. This may seem boring at first, but you'll find out its EXTREMELY comfy and dual/multi monitor friendly to do other things on the side. Lots of people who play EQ often do so while doing other productive things.

There is end game raiding for sure, but the p1999 is currently monopolized by the Super Ultra Neckbeards. Think of the opposite end of the spectrum from filthy casuals, and not in a good way. Live Progression servers don't suffer from this due to raid mob instancing.
