It's been a while since I finished Fates and felt like starting a Lunatic run this time but I just remembered something about set level ups and how they can fuck up units. How much should this concern me? Is there anything I can do about it, like resetting?

Only reclassing will affect level ups, resets do nothing. Say Corrin has a 40 on their Magic for level 12 and their current growth is 35%. You'll miss this point unless you reclass so your growth is now 40% or higher.

Your units have all their levels already seeded from the second the file is created so if you don't like a level up you need to get real creative with reclass to get a better one.

Anyone interested in the Yggdra hack for FE8?
Its a Japanese rom hack that builds on the FE Midori patch which featured a variety of additional features such as Leadership and Skills from the SNES era games. This time around, it adds custom classes/animations, custom bgm as well as the capture system from FE5.

According to the hacker its supposed to be about as hard as FE6's Hard Mode which is about right, at least for a while anyway.

Alicia is a new character that's only playable in Ephraim's route. She's a Silver Knight, a new class that comes with Sol, Renewal and Savior and her personal skill is Miracle. However unlike Seth, she uses Swords/Staves instead of Swords/Lances.

Even if you aren't going to use her in combat, her utility due to staves and 1 leadership star makes her a potent addition to any team.

Here's the promotion options for Milanor, a Brigand from Yggdra Union who some of you may recognize from either playing the game before hand or his apperance in MK404's hack.

Your two choices are Stray Thief, a new axe locked class based on his canon class in Yggdra Union that offers Steal and Nihil for utility purposes or Berserker which is the same as always but this time offers Wrath as a class skill.

I got through it first try just now but compared to chapter 4s enemies it's a big difference. I'm also not just sending MU/Chrom out each time by themselves so everyones overall levels are pretty low(MU is barely level 11)

Jesus christ this was nerve-wracking. Marcia's apparently been RNG blessed in terms of stats. She's also been really lucky. First, in ch 11, I forgot about console canto, allowing two cavs to get a shot at her: if both 50%s had hit, she would have died. Then, on Ch 16, she unlocked the room with the killer lance Halberdier-thankfully, with a jav, so the archer didn't get a chance. Finally, I didn't expect the Halberdier here to move after she killed the myrm.

Chapter 10B's map of choice is the Radd/Caesar one from FE1/11. You have 17 turns to keep Duessel alive or if you want to finish it early seize the gate. There's an arena on this stage if you want to grind for funds as weapons are more expensive (Heal Staves in particular go for about 3k Gold).

Our friend Voltz from FE4 Chapter 2 is the boss of this stage. While he doesn't have Beowulf with him, he's still a force to be reckoned with due to Nihil and Pursuit in his skill list.

Additionally, he starts charging after Duessel and friends fairly early on the map so you need to hurry.

Here's Duessel who's still just as durable as he used to be in vanilla. His class skills are Boon which cures him of any ailments that he receives at the start of the player phase and Daunt which reduces the accuracy and evasion of every enemy unit within a 3 tile range by 5%.

It's been good so far. It's refreshing to play something other than Fates, because I haven't played another Fire Emblem game since it came out. I like the new balance changes and the increased difficulty, while at the same time it's good that things are mostly the same as the regular game. Cormag's promotion options are Dragon Master (or Wyvern Lord in the NA version) and Wyvern Knight.

Wyvern Lord offers Swords, Corrosion and Glide on promotion.

Corrosion unlike the variant in FE9/10 will automatically destroy the opponent's weapon if it activates. Glide on the other hand is a new skill that allows the owner to move 5 tiles after an action if they've used up all of their movement before hand.

Wyvern Knight offers Pierce which functions like the modern versions of Luna.

Overall Chapter 10B isn't too bad although you'll probably struggle a bit when it comes to dealing with Voltz. Once he's out of the picture its a pretty easy defense mission that you use to make funds or train up weaker units.
