weapon lists were built around endgame DPS - endgame being multiple hours into endless missions

Dedicated credit farming on Akkad and Sorties.
Credits are a crunch resource like Ferrite or Polymer at the start of the game because every god damn thing requires a ton of them and there's a real chance you'll gain them slower than you can use them.
But after you play for a while you'll be swimming in that shit with no way to ever use up what you have.

Well raids do the a similar chunk, every single time, whether you've already done them or not.
Plus they spawn a lot of rare crates which often have credit boosters.

You grind Rathuum until you have enough to fight Kela.

Yes. Grind Rathuum for Judgement points, then grind Kela for Saryn parts, which you also need to make Chroma.
Saryn P is legitimately easier to get than the normal version because of this.

There is no legitimate crit shotgun, and by legitimate crit shotgun I mean a shotgun which, when equipped with every crit chance boosting mod, will reach 100% crit chance.
Until there's a shotgun that does have that, Primed Ravage is for the half a dozen fags that shout about how Vaykor Hek is so great and still use basically any other weapon.

If you really wanna fuck shit up with a melee weapon and top the damage charts every time, here's what you do. Get a weapon with a good range and attack speed, like Secura Lecta. Next make a macro that spams slide attack constantly and set the interval according to your attack speed. I use 250ms (180ms on valkyr) on Secura lecta, R8 Primed Fury and the other mods. It takes a bit of trial and error to optimize.
To make it actually work, you need at least Maiming Strike to make practically all of your hits critical. Then you just use Blood Rush to red crit all the time, even at 2x combo. This works even if the weapon has a really low base crit %.
Use Berserker and Fury to increase attack speed. Add Reach for range, Pressure Point and Organ Shatter for damage, and Drifting contact (or Body Count). Primes are obviously preferable but not necessary. This setup leaves the damage apparently low, but my Secura Lecta with its 176 elec damage easily fucks up Sortie 3 grineers.
For added fun times, use Valkyrs 2 with Eternal War for even more speed. Also Naramon is now actually useful, since you'll be constantly invisible and gain >10% more affinity. I use mainly Secura Lecta for dem double creds, immunity to staggers, and it hits through walls with a ridiculous range.

Nano Applicator is a good meme - it can make Sancti Tigris do the 100% status thing that Tigris Prime does.
Notable mentions: Hek has a shitton of pellets for procs, but primarily puncture so not as good.

The idea is that if you're a solo/dead clan owner, you can invite those that want/need a clan. No fuss or requirements, you can be a casual shitter or a hardcore autistic. You can be mute, you can be talkative. Solo or social.
The idea that there are like-minded individuals around if you ever need advice or just shitpost at/with is what I'm going for. Then when you're sick to the stomach of social interaction, you can go back to doing your own thing no problem.
We wouldn't need this at all if Warbros was more proactive.

Relics are basically a grab bag of eight whatevers that you can "refine" to skew odds towards what you want
To open them you do normal mission nodes that have Alert-style missions on them where you kill random Void enemies that show up on non-void tiles and get their orange juice pouches
Opening relics in a squad gives you the option to choose from what other people's relics would give, and you get extra refinement jizz if someone takes yours

Basically removed the concept of keysharing. Now its every player needs a relic to get a reward, so instead of four players running four keys and getting four rewards, it's four players running four relics having a choice of a single reward they rolled during that mission. Say Buttsniffer420's relic coughed up a forma and QuikTokes666's relic landed on a Vauban Prime system, Buttsniffer can select Quiktoke's reward so both of them get the systems bp.
It's more coherent but still a slog. Although endless missions allow you to select another relic to open during each applicable phase. But it is worth mentioning, groups are starting to mirror key sharing, one person uses a good relic and the other three use junk relics, then the next person uses a good relic, etc.

I really like bows but they need a crapton of effort just to be decent in comparison to other weapons because they all are crit weapons with charge, wich means, on top of serration, you need two crit mods and fire rate of choise (speed trigger, vile acceleration, whatever), this leave little room for the other, also expensive, elemental mods. I actually use range as a dump stat on Mesa because I don't care if Shatter Shield reflects bullets to the target or not. All I care about is that sweet, sweet damage reduction.
Mesa is tanky as fuck against ranged enemies.
Infested will push her shit in if you don't gun them down first though.
Mesa's biggest sin is not having crowd control by default like Mirage and Equinox do. Even so I mainly use her in Sorties now because A: Tanky as fuck, and B: Sortie-level enemies don't scale past my ability to quickly kill using Peacemaker.
Even if my pub squad is full of screeching retards, and it usually is because it's public, I can carry them to the finish line without getting frustrated.

It's a crit-viable weapon.
Barrel Diffusion, Lethal Torrent, Hornet Strike, Primed Pistol Gambit, Primed Target Cracker. What happens from there depends on whether you're using it on Mesa or not and whether you want some Status on the weapon or not.
If you're using it with Mesa, Bladed Rounds don't work with Peacemaker so there's no point slotting it. If you're not using Mesa, put Bladed Rounds on if you have it.
Going for some status chance or opting for pure damage is a matter of personal choice. I like having one full-power Elemental mod (usually Primed Heated Charge) and one Event mod to meet in the middle, but cases can be made for the +120% Puncture mod and a full Elemental mod or two Event mods as well.
If you don't have the Primed mods it won't work quite as well. You'll need to use the standard versions and maybe the headshot crit Acolyte mod to make it a critting weapon.
Until I maxed the Primed mods I preferred to build for status and use the Puncture +120% mod. YMMV.

Yup. Even though crit is pointless on Toxocyst, you need it on Peacemaker.
Personally I find her normal RoF to be more than enough. The Toxocyst boost is quite fun but also not necessary.
I prefer to take a critting secondary like the Lex with me to use on the move or if my energy is low.

DE doesn't actually check the numbers on how units scale. Have you not noticed how certain units (Corrupted Shotgunners, Infested Carrier Ospreys, Disruptor Ospreys to name a couple) will one-shot you even at level 30? They've had issues with this in the past, like when the Mutalyst enemies came out and laid down gas clouds and tar across the whole area that would one-shot kill any frame.
