They made vague statements like "What is truth, what is lie?" theme kept them excited and in suspense. And the lie mechanic gives you a sense of guilt. The next part might've been the translator reaching a bit, but said that lies get treated differently in the game than we're led to believe. And the reviewers also thought that the extra mode was addicting. As for gameplay, they thought there were alot of new nuances that added to the trials, but that for them they game hadn't become more difficult than the previous ones.

I've been wondering about Shuichi's sprite update he got from the first trailer we saw him in. We know previous games had characters who designs changed from their beta concepts, but Shuichi's design feels like it changed alot near the end of the game's development. My theory is that Kodaka was going to make his character a mix of 2 characters from Persona 4, but that a character in Persona 5 already did it first, so Kodaka had to last minute come up with a new idea for Shuichi. As a result, they changed his design to match his new role. I just hope whatever his story is isn't rushed or feels poorly thought out as a result.

Most notably they added his hat and made his face more feminine, since the first preview trailer. I'm very curious about his beta concept.

That's not what it was. Her victim complex was obnoxious. He hated on everyone with this preconceived notion that she invented in her head (thanks to bullying I guess) but that's not a good excuse for her character to be likeable when all her dialog is her being against working with everyone else, talking about how much she hates everyone, and fawning after one of the worst characters there.

It would be better if she got any development in the first game, but other than revealing herself as syo and only cooperating because Togami told her to doesn't make her a strong character.

Her character in UDG makes her act like a completely different character that I can't even process how she's the same person from the end of the first game to her getting into Towa city that it was too jarring to appreciate her. If she was more like that since the beginning, then I would of appreciated it, but it felt like it was totally done as a gesture to make her more likeable instead of giving her actual character development.
