the only way you can get demon flip instead of teleport is if your inputs are all over the place

for example teleport forward when facing right is 421+KKK

to get demon flip you'd have to do 456213+K or some combination like that

Combo variety is shallow and dry
Game is more random, anyone can win at anytime
The better player doesn't win more than other SF games
Graphics are butt ugly and inconsistent for a nextgen game using the latest unreal engine
Every character plays the same except for guile and sim
No Sagat
Footsies gameplay is ass
6.5 frames
Any whiff punish you see in SFV is by accident, not by reaction
Online is trash
Offline is trash (thumbs up if you're ready!)
Watching is boring more than half the time
Playing is either boring because of repetitive gameplay, or infuriating due to netcode or gameplay mechanics
Ibuki rework is lame
Juri rework is lame
Akuma has a dan fireball
A good Rashid isn't as hype as a good El Fuerte
Top players like Daigo cannot truly use their decade of fighting game skills or express their personality through gameplay because SFV is as shallow as hearthstone
SFV gameplay is similar to a turn based game, you block all day or eat throws and crush counters until it's "your turn" much like hearthstone

Right? Feels bad cuz I keep giving this game a chance cuz the top players will make it hype, but then again, if infiltration and daigo are playing fucking Tetris it would be hype. This game sucks. I've played every sf game to a good amount besides the ex games which I only touched in my childhood and never before have I felt so strongly where the player who knows frame data is always the winner in sub-par level play. This game is all about the shitty ranged neutral buttons (hurr durr gotta be in my face to hit me bruh) and knowing what is positive so you can spam buttons safely. I've been playing sfa2 almost daily and I never get tired of it, but one hour of sfv makes me feel pissed.

If you love fighting games, you should be playing KOF. Why everyone still wants to cause pain to themselves by continuing to give Capcom time and money for the bullshit that is Street Fighter V is beyond me. I hope once Capcom Cup comes and goes, the pros pay attention to KoF14 and give it more exposure because it needs it. From the looks of it, we arent getting a season 4, just extra content and a few new characters we may or may not still have to pay for. I dont think that alone will be enough to make people jump over, even if SFV continues to fumble, and theres also Tekken and MvCI to consider.

Some people are speculating KI2 is in the works and the next 2-3 years will be like this, small new content batches to maintain interest and update the game while a sequel is being worked on but I guess we will have to wait for KIWC to see, and even then I dont think theyd announce a sequel so soon.

Take SF4, Oni is a more powerful version than Akuma, closer to God than a human, but in the game he's not more strong than Akuma.

So here's the deal. If the UDK hits in the first couple frames to act as a meaty, then jump tech works; you block, and now it's your turn since UDK is -2. If you delay UDK to catch a late jump tech, then wakeup jab beats it.

So jump tech beats meaty throw (techs it), meaty UDK (blocks), and shimmy (jumps away), and loses to delayed UDK. Wakeup jab is only an option because it beats delayed UDK.

Is online/the scene somewhat alive?

Is the gane still hideous, and do the hits feel any better? In the demo, the game is ugly as fuck and attacks that land feel empty, with no impact or weight. Feels like a game in development.

Game seems much better than sfv in every other way, but I couldn't spend money on anything like the demo.

It kinda makes sense in the context of V. Usually DPs are interesting cause, on top of the basic system defensive mechanics, some characters get an additional high-risk high-reward defensive option. But in V there basically are no defensive mechanics. So meterless DPs are inordinately more powerful comparatively.

The better solution would probably be to balance offense and defense better but holy shit there are so many problems with it, you'd have to redesign way too much shit, so we got this band-aid instead.

I just started playing fighting games in the last month or so. Here are my personal rankings.

1. BlazBlue: Central Fiction - I like this game more than GGxrd Revelator because of the aesthetics and that's basically it. It's an amazing game with insane single player options like story mode, arcade, tutorials, etc. The Stylish Mode is fucking great for just relaxing in single player stuff.

2. GGxrd Revelator - I just don't like the aesthetics as much as I do Blaz, but the gameplay is still top notch. I like this game for the same reasons I do Blaz.

3. King of Fighters XIV - tons of variety with the 3 character system which also increases its skill cap, awesome tutorial and training mode. I just wish it was 2D but whatever. The graphics originally turned me off from the game but I said fuck it and bought it anyways. I'm a fan of Fatal Fury so that's probably why.

4. Street Fighter V - I like how accessible it is for people like me new to fighting games. The inputs are easy which allow me to worry more about decision making than inputting a ton of shit. It'd be higher up if the prices for characters and levels weren't fucking absurd and the client surrounding the game wasn't dogshit. This game might be ranked 4th instead of 5th solely because of its name. I'm not sure. It's also nice having a ton of people online.

5. Mortal Kombat XL - Great value for $40. Really fun (and imo casual) game to play with my friends. I can teach them a few inputs and we'll have a great time. It doesn't require a ton of knowledge to just have fun. Towers and Faction Wars are pretty cool.

Special Mention ~ Garou: Mark of the Wolves - My favorite game on the Dreamcast. I put so much time into this game but still never really learned anything. I still had an amazing time with it though. I was super hyped to see it pop up on the PSN store. I personally think it's one of the best fighting games ever made.

A lot of people really don't like the anime aesthetic. Anime fighters bring in an abysmal amount of casuals. Not to mention anime fighters always have almost no marketing or advertisement except in places full of dorks like conventions. They rely almost solely on the fighting scene and word of mouth to just spread their game.

My personal issue with anime fighters? Combos are too lengthy, just like marvel. Too fast paced, too much guessing, no feeling if impact on hits, and small, dedicated playerbase that destroys me if I try to play.

So I just saw that Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition for the Nintendo 3DS was on sale for 75% off and I was like, "Great, lemme check that out." I immediately started playing and noticed something strange. Being the handheld version I'm sure input isn't super optimal or anything but the geniuses at Capcom decided to PUT BUTTONS ON THE TOUCHPAD FOR INSTANT USE SUPERS AND ULT MOVES. Thankfully they have an option to switch from these "Lite" controls to "Pro", putting the LP+MP+HP, LK+MK+HK, Focus, and throw on there instead, making you use inputs for moves. But, online versus does not require you to set a certain control scheme for quick matches. So while I had two matches that were decent, I then got to the match that made me instantly hate the Lite control scheme. I got into a match with a Ken that basically fought okay but I was beating him so this guy decided to insta-spam fireball, with no input lag mind you, over and over again, and I cannot cross the screen. Fuck this game, it's fucking cancer.

Lots of communities and players around the world got a spotlight for the first time because of Capcom and SF5. We've reach new heights because of Capcom and SF5...ESPN coverage (TWICE), record setting tourney attendance, excellent stream viewership. Lots of players got shiny new sponsorships this year. All this stuff doesn't just HAPPEN.

It happens with the right development and incentive. It happens because the SF team has been investing in the FGC for YEARS...not just this year, like some of these other fighting game companies who have FINALLY started their own half-assed pro-tours.

You think Capcom takes us for granted? Sometimes we do the same. We've had an entire year of entertainment thanks to CPT, and you didn't have to pay Capcom a cent to participate. Live streams featuring the worlds greatest players almost every week. That's hard to do. They did it. It was awesome.

All those content creators you thanked...part of the reason they did it because they knew there would be interest. That interest is there because Capcom has done a good job growing this scene for the past 8 years. SF5 is an eco system. Every part benefitting from the hard work of every other part. From the players to the makers. And, don't get it twisted, Capcom has been working SUPER hard, too.

Unless of course, you want Ono to collapse again in order to prove that to you...

its not uncommon for me to use AT LEAST half a roll of toilet paper when wiping. It's like wiping a marker. I've always taken ridiculous shits but when i was younger i remember times when i could get away with a clean exit, no wiping required except the assurance wipe.
