Yeah darkest dungeon endgame is shit, I heard it was a little bit better with some of the patches but back when I played it it was absolutely awful and the game only got praised so highly because nobody played the endgame of it. they played for 10-20 hours maybe and stopped. it really falls apart at the seems at the end.

I think it's decent, but certainly not for full price. Around around $20€ is an alright price for it. The localization feels a bit stiff, but some of the mysteries are decent. Max mode mechanic is stupid and doesn't really bring anything to the table as even you if you fail, it has no consequences. Art looks really nice and beutiful, don't just expect anything earth shaking. Refreshing also to have a little bit older characters as main, though I don't really have nothing against younger ones either.

I don't even hate the VN aspect of the game so much. I like when a game is robust in story and that's not always common in dungeon crawlers especially. I even have a high tolerance and even really like weaboo stuff.

But everything is so boring. No one says anything that can't be repeated 15 times. Even when characters in universe explain how mechanics work the game feels the need to still tutorialize everything and so far everyone but that Rio chick and Imouto whose name I forget is given MC shit for no reason when they know he has a good reason for not knowing basic shit. Speaking of Mary Skelter, I bought it a couple days ago but I can't play it, because in 1.04 there's a gamebreaking bug where your view is stuck at the entrance to the second dungeon and you can only see what's going on by the minimap. Even if I get into a battle, the animations just bleed over the frozen image of the first tile of the dungeon. This was supposed to keep me busy over New Years holiday, too...

The December release I previously mentioned was in fact a delayed date from what was originally agreed, brought upon by the actual devs getting fucked over by Venezuela's ongoing scheduled power cuts and other real life factors.

We were planning to release it without the prologue originally and to it add it later via an update but with the delay of the port and the remade prologue coming so soon it was decided to hold off on it so the two can be properly combined as a single product.

So right now the original game is essentially done and I'm working with the guys on porting the prologue and adding it on properly. Should be done by February.

They don't have their own story, true. But they are still one of the most fun characters to use on the game nonetheless. Plus, Mirei is actually pretty damn strong on her own and starting from Drive 1 from the get-go gives them an useful edge to tackle Survival and Challenge modes.

And having more costumes, accessories and hairstyles is never a bad thing.
