Find an item that's being under-farmed and farm it. Get lucky with black lotuses. Run through instances solo over and over for hours on end. Do dungeons like Strat-live and hope for a righteous orb. Beg mages for food/water instead of buying it yourself. Stuff like that.

Oh, and make sure you're rank 3 pvp and honored with your preferred faction, because a 20% discount is fucking huge.

Every time I go to AV, the alliance are either all drawing the game out to an endless draw by refusing to go on the offensive, or they're just running around like headless chickens. Let's say I level a holy priest. How's this for talents? Assume I start in discipline then move to holy afterwards. The idea is being able to level somewhat decently while still being amazing at healing in dungeons.

Questing/grinding as per normal. Exploring your way to L5 isn't very easy for NE - you'll likely be better off just camping mobs.

I play priests on almost every server and level as shadow, I heal every dungeon till 50ish it's 100% fine I wouldn't even worry about it. If your good at sniping the killing blow on stuff while your doing it you get some sick regen going too.

Even though I've invested thousands of hours into this game, I have never once made it to max level, nor have I ever participated in a high-level dungeon, raid, or Alterac Valley. I used to write guides on Wowhead that people followed to a "T" and were so highly-rated they were stickied. No one ever found out my secret, that I'm a failure at this game, and I've needed to let this out for a very long time.

The first wand you can actually purchase is at level 15, the Smoldering Wand, which costs 33s 40c, a massive cost so early into the game when the AH hasn't established a market yet. And it only does 13.4DPS as fire damage, which is pretty poor.

Efficiency with respect to time played is the exact same thing as speed. What on earth sort of metric are you using to measure efficiency? Downtime? An auto-attacking/mend pet hunter can level with literally 0 downtime, but it'll be slow and stupid.

What. Efficiency is how well the class levels in regards to resource management, health pool, and down time. Mages and warriors have poor efficiency because they need to eat/drink every couple mobs. Meanwhile, hunters/priests are super efficient because they maintain high health/mana and never need to stop to eat or drink

Hunter is lots of fun for me so far, but i'm no hunter expert (just hit 25th to fuck around while waiting for fresh).
I normally play shaman and shaman works great with rogue, but I'd say priest would work even better. That said, any class that CAN heal is going to be roped into healing at 60.
Rolling shaman would also help the both of you to get groups made much easier for dungeons, as the healer will be wanted and he won't be "just another rogue" that way.

That's exactly what will happen if you want to raid. Then again, as a hunter you'll definitely have to get prebis, know your shot rotations, and be MM spec and even then might not get to raid much at all.

There's actually a realm census site for private realms and it shows that while Nelfs are the second most popular race on Alliance the total number of Dwarves and Gnomes combined still outnumber them. Since Dwarves and Gnomes start in the same area it's simple math to realize that Teldrassil will be the least crowded area. It's something like 50% Human, 30% Dwarf + Gnome, 20% Nelf IIRC.

Try raiding as a hunter. All competent guilds have more hunters than they need, so you have to be extremely competitive in order to get to raid at all frequently. That means getting prebis including a full devilsaur set, having lots of consumables, knowing all the fights, having a perfect shot rotation and so on.

I mean, you'll still be able to get into some MC/Ony/ZG pugs with shit gear, but more often than not you'll be rejected for a different damage dealer.
