I mean, you need to consider what drives people to hacking in the first place. They're not in it for self improvement. They don't actually earn material wealth from the game, either. The only profit is social status/bragging rights - which ultimately boils down to a mating display. I've seen this happen plenty of times before, women attach themselves to the cheater social groups (as well as any leader/moderator groups) because they're attracted to "winners" - even if cheating was involved in it.

And what helps social status even more than cheating to get to the top of a leaderboard? Getting banned for cheating and then raising hell and complaining as loudly as possible about it and having cheater and non cheater friends, as well as random nobodies, talking about you and defending you. Now you're a big important guy who everyone is talking about, that's an automatic ego and social status boost. Even better if it's just accusations and no actual bans.

Cheaters in vidya are pretty much by definition egotistical attention seekers, it's also why you'll see them acting like complete dickheads - more attention, no matter what kind, will attract women, even better if it involves "asserting dominance" by trying to bully or insult other players.

But these are videogames, and they're meant to be a form of entertainment and relaxation, not a method to getting pussy. Cheaters can't tell the difference. Can't figure out that the things their evolutionary programming predisposes them to, doesn't actually do anything for them. Women hardly even know about or play these games to begin with.

Wasted time and effort for an ultimately morally reprehensible action.
