hello i'm new
i have put every graphic option on lowest/off and playing on 1280x720 but i still don't get stable 120fps and the mouse input feels really awful
when the "adaptive resolution" thing kicks in the game looks awful and it stutters
also even if i put the fps at like 100 the mouse input feels like shit (using m_rawinput in autoexec)
is there anything in the videoconfig.txt i could change for more fps/stability? i heard it's mostly for vram issues and i have enough vram

Energy management is strictly Ion's gimmick. When you're inside Ion, there will be an energy bar that runs down the left side of your HUD. All your special abilities (Laser Shot, Splitter Rifle [RMB], Tripwire, Vortex Shield) cost energy to use, which refills over time. Ion has no cooldowns, but each ability costs different amounts of energy; if you run out, you can't use your other abilities. For example, if you hold up your Vortex Shield, it slowly drains energy. When it's completely empty, the shield dissipates, and you need to wait for more energy; you can't use your Laser Shot or Tripwire in the meantime because you just used it all putting your shield up.

Unlike the other Titans with Abilities on cooldown, Ion's use of abilities are limited by how much energy she has.
The energy regen rate takes about 12 seconds to go from 0 to 1000 energy.

Laser Shot consumes 500 energy and requires 500 energy to be used. It has no cooldown of its own, you'd simply need to wait about six seconds to regenerate enough Energy.

Tripwire consumes 350 energy and requires 350 energy. It also has a 10 second cooldown.
As the name suggests, Zero Energy Tripwire lets you use Tripwire for free, so the only limit is the cooldown.

Vortex Shield is a little iffy because its game logic is tied to the frame rate. At 60FPS, it lasts about eight seconds. If you let your FPS go higher or lower, Vortex ends up draining energy faster or slower respectively.
If you have even a little bit of energy, you can raise Vortex shield for that little bit.

Rifle's Split mode consumes 30 energy per shot, you'd go from 100 to 0 after 33 shots.
Splitter Rifle may consume energy, but it can still function with 0 Energy.
If you have Refraction Lens equipped, the energy drain per shot increases to 35, so you'd hit zero after 27 shots.

So I have taken the advice I got here a few weeks ago and slowly made it through the story on the hardest difficulty, I've since Platinumed the game on PS4 and want to get serious online. Where should I start? I loved Ion in the story and Scorch but I fucking suck as Scorch online and haven't tried any other Titans yet (only played 3 online games). Also have no idea what weapons to use.
The L-Star carried me through the singleplayer but all I hear about is how shit it is in multi, so I have no fucking clue what to do.

The Hemlock is the game's only burst rifle, but it has greak killing potential once you master it and can land a full burst on an enemy.
The Volt is arguably the best gun in the game and was the only gun nerfed in the Angel City patch. It's hitscan, is absurdly accurate in almost all circumstances and does very good damage. It's one of /tfg/'s "cancer" weapons because of just how capable it is.

Natively, no. Scorch and Legion, as the two Ogre-class Titans, do not natively have a dash. That said, all Titans can equip the universal Titan kit that gives them an extra dash, so you can equip your Scorch with one dash.

I can't defend as legion against enemy pilots, they get to cover as soon as my predator spun up.

Also is the hover ability worth it or are there objectively better options

Possibly. While T1 maps are definitely better for having nonstop wallrun routes to get everywhere, I've come to find T2 being overall faster. It is less reliant on wallrunning to go fast, and more about long jumps and sliding as a means for Quake-style bunny hopping, in addition to the several Tactical abilities that enhance going fast or adding to mobility.

You don't need an ideally placed series of walls like in the first game to keep up the speed, you just gotta slide your way until you hit another vertical surface.

The only clunky thing is fucking mantling. Why the fuck is it so slow. Why the fuck do I have to lower my gun to climb up a knee-high wall. Why the fuck is it probably one of the most common reason for me getting my ass killed.

I mean reapers would be fucking fine if they left in regenerating shields. The game could easily be perfect if they'd make it so normally you just regen shields, unless somebody steals your battery. And when somebody gives you an extra one, you just gain more hull health. And if you get it stolen, but get it back, you can regen shields again.

Stim, most exclusively, Holopilot every now and then for shits and giggles.
Mostly rocking the EPG for, was a bit of a Volt shitter previously but it didn't take long for me to see the light. I'm also in love with the Alternator and R-97, so mostly SMG's I guess, and the occasional EVA/Mastiff.

As for Titans, I've been mostly using Legion or Ronin, depending on the map. Scorch a few times, but damnit if Ronin isn't fun as fuck.

The thing with the Thunderbolt is that it's not used to kill Titans; what it's extremely good at is pissing them off to the point that they make mistakes (since you can't block it and it does near constant small damage) and that it builds your Titan meter like no fucking tomorrow since it can hit multiple titans multiple times. If you shoot bolts between multiple enemy titans you can get your titan in under 30 seconds with little to no risk to you.

no, dude. if you're going for minion kills, just use softball. if you're going for range, use charge rifle or dmr (hacked charge rifle if you want meter). thunderbolt is literally only better if there are like three titans all standing within range of every shot, and even then it's just gonna get you killed as you tickle their nuts.

I will never stop believing that this game would benefit putting projectile weapons on top. It might just be personal preference, I'm never having fun unless I'm using grenadiers, but for any game that emphasizes speed hitscan being superior to projectiles is stupid.

Then again, who knows if they'll ever balance their shit since the problems we had at release are still around today.

That's what I'm most worried about. Low population, and EA's purposeful sabotage of it's properties. I don't want to get attached to the IP only to get burned later. It's happened too many times with me and EA games already.
