So apparently openxcom extended is experimenting with a function that takes a screenshot from your selected soldiers pov, though it only shows basic geometry right now. Kinda cool I guess. Maybe eventually it could look like Doom screenshots.

Hey, recently i remebered a blast from the past, namely Soldiers of Anarchy and i just realized how much its like xcom: small team on commados like missions, base managment between missions, inventory fuckery during missions, with the added cherry of vheicles you can jum in and out of, capture if you are lucky. (Pic related is minutes before the final cutscene, but holy shit i cant even man 1/5 of these things, and normaly having 1-2 of these is gg), all in glorious russia area post apocaliptic tone (Entire world is fucked by a virus, 6 chumps hole up in a bunker then after 10 years reemerge to gauge the damage) with multiple endings and chocices taht change missions.
It even has a scriptable mission editor.

After replaying it (with the patch that adds a pause function), aside from the atrocious pathfinding, it holds up pretty well still. I would recommed if you are looking for something xcom like.

TL:DR: Soldiers of Anarchy, anyone knows it?

Using explosives in the tight confines of this ship is dicey, but I don't have much of choice. I'm taking casualties, but I'm also been slaying away a good deal of ayys. Maybe I can make it. The good news is that it turns out that I can use the sonic canons I find on enemies since I researched it, even though I haven't researched the clip yet. Pretty useful since the pack a punch, but they don't have auto fire unfortunately. Probably should have gone for the rifle.

Good month, though Austrailia is still crying. I have a base being built down there, but it's not finished yet. I am also getting very few mission, which is a bit worrying. I could use the extra cash and experience from some other missions that aren't cruise ship nightmares.

Yet another cruise line terror ship. I gotta admit, I actually had fun in the last one (been awhile since I was actually scared I wouldn't be able to complete a mission), but I don't have the heart to do another taxing two stage mission again. I'll come back to it later. It is now month 5, and things are going pretty well I would say. Unfortunately, I discovered I knew to research a live terror unit before I can get psi, so I guess that is my next goal.

I started playing X-COM 2 for the first time.

>my soldiers in X-COM EW take a plasma shot to the face
>walk it off and a day in the spa and they're fine

>my soldier in X-COM 2 graze their knee
>gravely wounded (shaken) 29 days

At least it sorta solves the problem with my A Team just doing every mission because they're the best and I have no reason to build an entire B Team. But I tried the Vahlen mission and all I had was a scout with PTSD, Central and 3 rookies. It didn't snek so good. I think I'll leave that til later.

Yea I played it a bit. Haven't sat down to finish it, but if you have some basic questions, I might be able to help. I know at least one anon here finished it.

>>163888507
Well I just finished that TFTD cruise liner, that was pretty rough. But probably one of the toughest missions I completed was an early game superhuman landed battleship vs. sectoids. Just laser rifles and personal armor. I probably would go with that one considering I squad wiped in the same campaign on the same mission later on.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

XCOM: Enemy Within

XCOM 2

All of them. But Xcom2 is probably more bang for your buck since it has a modding community. I don't remember if Enemy Within is standalone or if it needs EU, if it's standalone get that too.

XCOM: Enemy Within (with unknown included)

XCOM: Enemy Within with long war

Ehhh, I'm not that familiar, but if you go to ufopaedia.org there are three different beginners guides on the apocalypse page.
>>
I need your guys advice. When I played Xcom I barely got far before I stopped. Then I jumped back on with mods(long war, skins, tweaks, etc). For Xcom 2, should I play it vanilla first? Or can I just get and install the mods I want to help customize the game to how I want it to be played?

tldr: Play xcom 2 vanilla or mods first?
>>
>>163898478
I'd say mod the hell out of it, especially if you like customizing soldiers. Find quality of life stuff like Evac All and that free-rotation camera mod.

Additional Mission Types mod hurts like hell in my experience but can be fun if not stressful.
>>
>>163898687
I kind of wanted to get the ODST mod and weapons. Are there any gameplay mods that help enhance or build upon the concealment stuff? I kind of want to recreate the feeling of Halo:ODST where you are a weak soldier that has to sneak around the bigger and tougher enemies.

Also in general, what are some good QoL/Tweaks mods that you would recommend that you have not mentioned already?

Hacking a Work Station for me, had to to do it while replacing 3 dead A-Team members that got bodied by the Snek King
City Tile Set, sneaking along the edge of the building to a window that would have the angle for the hack. There was no hard cover on the street and other side of the road was the map edge.
>"Wow I hope hacking this thing wont break concealment" - me
Concealment's gone and I shit you not 4 pods wake up, 2 at each end of the street and a dropship was called down on my position. Spent the next 5-ish turn fighting off what.. 16 guys? Which by the way had almost permanent flanking shots, thank fuck I had Smoke Flashes and Medic Specialist. That Specialist died in the end, went out reviving and healing the rookies and corporals I had to take along. My first Colonel, pic related, that's him after hacking the work station.

Generally stealth in XCOM 2 is focused on one single scout character, while your squad moved up behind him. You COULD try and sneak past enemies to get to the objective, but then you'll be surrounded by them when they're alerted to you. If you want to fight a more difficult enemy thatn ABA 2 and Additional mission types
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=647242867&searchtext=mission
make the game much more threatening. Also check out class mods for some real stealth classes, either Paragon Classes or Shadow ops

I actually kinda like the squad pause control function, even if it's mostly straight ripped Mass Effect. I think if you expanded on it with some birds eye view perspectives and more squad mates, it could actually be pretty good, sort of like Apocalypse real time, but you have the first person view available. The main thing though is that the Squad mate AI needs to be significanlty improved. Either they need to put in alot of effort so they aren't constantly doing dumb shit and getting themselves killed, or make it so they don't do any big actions without you telling them so that they actually stay in the cover you put them. Maybe toss in some larger battlefields with lots of cover so that their is actually more than one way to position during fights.

the general couldn't even sustain itself pre-LW era, all you had were threads on /v/ from time to time. when EW came out /xcg/ came back for about 2 months before fizzling out for another couple months when LW betas started releasing for EW.

i'd be posting and playing a lot more if my rig wasn't on the brink of death, EU being a toaster-tier game helped its audience reach a lot.

XCOM 2 seems to love giving successful, 24% through heavy cover shots to the enemy.

Is the game just that much of a dick or is perfect info lying?
>>
>>163950363
Might be an issue with some mod. In my current campaign both aliens and my soldiers have missed 100% shots. No graze, just miss.
>>

24% isn't 0%, maybe you're just unlucky or there's some mod conflict. Does it always say 24%?
>>
>>163950765
>>163950672
No it can be 20-40. And yeah, it isn't 0 but the consistency of it is annoying.

Red Fog doesn't seem to be working right for aliens either as it didn't affect the aim % of a Advent grunt who was at 25% health.

Why so many people complain about Alpha striking in XCOM 2 but not in XCOM EW?

What makes it different?

I do recall alpha striking in EW as much as i do in 2.
>>
>>163969801
Alpha striking is more important in 2 due to how injuries work, mainly that soldiers will get hospitalized for a few days for even 1 point of damage while wearing Warden armour. Usually that won't matter too much since they'll be up and running in time for the next mission but god damn it.

Alien ablities, wound times, and mission timers. A good example would be the stun lancer. In EW these guys wouldn't be that big of deal, sure they could wound a guy now and then, or even knock em out, but really not too big a deal.

Now in X2, a stun lancer hits someone, and if it's a rough mission, that turn stun could mean you don't complete the objective in time, or you don't evac in time. Even worse, he could just completely knock somone unconsious, which once again in EW woudln't be a big deal, but this is X2, so you are in a rush. Same thing for sneks even, they have similary posion as thinman, except now every mission is like a bomb mission where mobility and moving fast is essential. Not Alpha striking also means you aren't moving through the mission as efficiently as possible. It all kind of adds up.

But I do agree that alpha striking is nothing new, and still the dominant engagement method in X1. However, if you didn't think you could wipe a pod, you actually had the option of falling back and hiding, or hunkering everyone for a couple of turns. Can't do that in X2 because you always need to be advancing.

>>
>>163989416
>>163989223
I always support vanilla (gameplay) first, because then you actually know how the game plays, and what you want to change for your second campaign. It also gives you a point of common reference to relate to everyone else.
Until a game is mature enough where the community has really nailed down exactly what changes are just a straight improvement, I think heavy gameplay modding is a pretty bad idea. Can't fix what you don't know isn't broken, and likewise things that may on the surface be unappealing might actually be really solid or core parts of the game that shouldn't be modified or removed.

>>163997808
The faceless made the scanner ball obviously.
>>
>>163996704

That depends, if you use A better Advent 2 you don't need either(ABAI now comes with it). If you don't use A better advent 2 then just pick one or the other. I play with ABA2 so i guess i recommend ABAI.
>>
>>163998382
I've tried using ABA2, but so far it's been nothing but a headache. Some mods require .ini changes because they change reinforcements and ABA2 overwrites them. Some missions in the additional mission types mod needed changed because of mission schedules and now all my civs are faceless all the time.

I'm sad because ABA 1 was really good, but now it just seems to refuse to work.

If anyone can explain why retaliation missions are bugging out, I would be really thankful.
>>
>>163998937
>Some mods require .ini changes because they change reinforcements and ABA2 overwrites them
You don't even need to do edits, you just delete some parts of ini. I have shitload of enemy mods and it didn't even take two minutes to make them compatible with ABA 2. Can't talk about additional mission types though

It's a few lines. I got missions and reinforcements working just fine. Couldn't figure out this faceless thing though and it's killing the mod for me. LW Alien pack doesn't have these issues.

Using only a handful of the enemy mods that needed changed, a few cosmetics and quality of life mods and the LW mods aside from Alien pack. I can't figure out what is causing this shit. Nothing in Additional Mission Types changes retaliation, nothing changes force levels aside from ABA2.

Wait a second. Didn't the author NERF the retaliation missions because he added more enemies with the default settings. Are you using the default .ini for pods, because I used the reduced one.

I will laugh my ass off if there was an error in that .ini about the changes he made for the retaliations.
>>
>>164000441
thanks famalamagamadamasama
>>
>>164000675
how would retaliation missions work if everyone you tried to save was faceless
>>
>>164000931
It doesn't. After the first civ was killed, there was no one left to save. At first I just thought that I had gotten unlucky with a faceless off the bat, but then I noticed there was only one real civ by the count remaining.

I honestly can't believe that I 'beat' that mission. Seven faceless by the end of it. I wouldn't have beat them if I didn't have that gas grenade. But yeah, he changed it. He added 3 more civs. I'm guessing something glitched in the .ini file between an update and I didn't refresh them.

Going to try this shit one more time. Hopefully it works or I think I'm just going to wait until LWS comes out with the strategy layer mod.

They hinted what they were doing with that yet?
>>
>>164000441
I will always think that mid-turn firefights would be amazing.
>>
>>164001481
Yeah, though I also get their point about how it would have looked really confusing once you have six dudes and then all the ayys all firing back and forth. Add that on too overwatch and suppression, and you get a pretty confusing skirmish going.
>>
>>164001187
Ok, this is still weird. Does anyone know how the game handles putting faceless in Terror missions? Because looking through ABA2's config on how it changes pods, there is nothing there for faceless that spawn in these missions. Just the ones that come in the last mission through the psi gates.

So strange. I can only hope it was config weirdness from disabling and enabling mods and that a regen will fix it.
>>
>>164002227
>you get a pretty confusing skirmish going.

Yeah stuff like supression or overwatch would fuck you up.
t would've been super cool though. It would give it a feeling of actually fighting battles instead of super complicated chess where all the pieces have shotguns or plasma rifles.
>>
Playing with ABA2, Paragon classes, more mission types, and base squad size 6

The only missions that are difficult are the more mission types missions, how do I make every mission as intense as those?
>>
>>164004085
Increase the number of enemies in a pod
>>
>>164002272
Yup, that fixed it. Thank god. I think ABA2 handles things a bit better then LW alien pack and didn't want to switch.

No idea how the hell .ini files could have done that to all the civs, but it happened.

Maybe tommorow I can finally have fun with this shit instead of wondering why my game is shitting itself.

A model is a model, why would you NOT be able to port it? If you can get your hands on the model, then all you have to do is rig it to an Xcom2 skeleton and modify the textures here and there and you're done.

Hey, I was the anon earlier who asked if he should play xcom 2 vanilla or mod it to hell. And I eventually just said fuck it and installed almost everything in all the collections in the pastebin. Now I am testing the cosmetics (armors) and is there a better way to go through or search for something?

I have so many armors that I think my games framerates dips as it has to load them all or something. If I could,l I would just hit the down arrow key and go through the list one by one. Is there a way to do that? It seems to me that to preview them I have to hover over the option. Like if I want to find the halo armor, some of them have a nice icon. Most don't.

tl:dr Is there a better way to search through all the uniforms?

For right now I am actually just unsubscribing all the non halo stuff for now until I want the new stuff back.

>>
>>164118394

steam user reviews are retarded, at worst you could say it's equal or maybe some things are a little underwhelming(example: No mecs, their equivalent is DLC and they're not as "cool" as mecs were) in some aspects, that said, the fact that it's so modable and has a modding community more than makes up for those little things.

Just pirate it if you're not sure, if you'll like it you will want to buy it because most mods aren't on the nexus and they're only on the steam workshop.

>>
>>164119474
Which game
>>
>>164119608
Xcom 2
>>
>>164118394
I wouldn't play EW without Long War anymore but I could see myself playing XCOM 2 vanilla + current DLCs with just some cosmetic mods. Half of those negative reviews are probably comparing vanilla XCOM 2 a day after release to LW.
>>
>>164119845
Higher difficulties take off some handicaps (restrictions to AI decisions like using grenades and how many enemies can engage you at one time) and add some stats. For example, the standard trooper on normal has 3 hp and will always get 1 shot by grenades, on commander, they have 4 hp, which means you have a 50-50 on whether or not the trooper survives a grenade.
>>
>>164120050
>>164119845
Also, on lower difficulties the game will fudge numbers in the players favor, this is also removed at higher difficulties.

Using Long War as a baseline instead of Xcom2 because I prefer the strategic game of the former:
Tweaks to the air game, either develop it more or remove it altogether.
Make non-activated pods actually try to encircle the Squad while still in the fog, to increase the OPERATOR WE HAVE TO MOVE feeling.

But honestly speaking I just want fireaxis to just go full 40k with xcom, with expert soldiers in power armor leading redshirts while they conquer the alien planets one by one.

So, after loving Enemy Unknown and Within I bought Xcom 2 and I kind of can't get into it.

Sometimes I feel like "yes, I dig it", but then fucking nigger out of nowhere tells me some shit about burgers xD.

How long does the game handhold you? I am not usually one of those retards who "GEEZ, LET ME JUST EXPLORE YA KNOW" and then go "GAME DIDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING", but I thought EU's tutorial was much shorter and much more blunt about how it does things and it was adequate.

Has anyone got retarded characters from AWS hidden abilities? So far my oddsquad is going okay only because their hidden abilities are retarded.

Manuel "Mysterio" Mondo: Magus with Shadowstep+Run&Gun for untouchable solace re positioning. At first I thought it was a glitch but he got two hidden skills.

Yuri "Bear Arms" Ivanov: Grenadier with Kill Zone that just kills everything once he's set up because of incendiary rounds. Especially with free reload mod on his gun. He's Russian but I really want to just call him heavy weapons guy.

Jane "The Ripper" Kelly: Tutorial Ranger character sure but she got Serial. With nat implacable she just goes ham on everything.

Samuel "Bush Baby" Masterson: Sniper with Phantom for increased scoping. Also helps with his natural Serial & Death from Above.

Henry "Doc" Holiday: Combat Medic with Shredder. The only hacker skill he has is Guardian but I was surprised when Shredder triggers on overwatch shots.

Last Slot is my SPARK with Julian's voice but sadly it didn't trigger AWC. I wish SPARKS could but it could be even more broken than Mysterio. Except for Bombard & Hunter Protocol, he's just Future Combat support and cover. However he's a fun mascot and a good meat shield when pushed against the wall,

Good news, the game runs without mods. But it crashes even when removing conflicting mods. I'll try and get screenshots of the errors with everything, and then without conflicts. Gonna take awhile if I have to keep doing the dumb tutorial. The reason I do the tutorial cause I need to test this "start to finish".

Overall want to give thanks for the help you guys have given me. Even if you just make a great soundboard/rubber ducky for feedback.

>>
>>164192452
>>164189129

Don't know what that means, but if removing the conflicting mods still causes it to crash then the answer is simple, the culprit is a mod that is not causing a conflict. Could be an old mod that stopped working after a patch, or it's simply a mod that was never tested with the tutorial. Because no one plays the tutorial.
>>
>>164192796
But I am a dumb noob who only played xcom eu/ew. What if I miss some new basics with the new mechanics?

Welp time to test skipping the tutorial and cut scene.

WELP.
>>
>>164193063
if you have played EU/EW then you will have no problem adapting to X2
the bigget thing is concealment allowing you to set up your soldiers before engaging, just be carefull not to kick open a door, break a window, run into someone or fire a gun until you are ready
after that there are just small things like you can close doors now, reloading only takes 1 action, if you hold ctrl you can set up way points to make your soldiers move in a specific way and the los indicator

oh shit so I can set my path now? shiieeeet. Welp time to make notes on all the classes I installed. Need to keep track on what they do.

Also, in the character pool, I can set their class. Can I also set their weapon?
>>
>>164193063
My first playthrough was the only time I did the tutorial and it was also the only time I played without mods. I'm currently doing an almost-vanilla playthrough with just cosmetic mods and mods which add maps and it's actually not that bad. Just do your first run with a small amount of mods instead of downloading everything.

Mod the timers, add some time or get true concealment.
Sectoids are easy, just kill 1 advent and they are basically guaranteed to res it and waste their turn.
I don't understand what the problem with faceless is, just don't rescue civs while engaging a pod.
Campaign timer is annoying though.

the class you assing on the charpool only affect when the game rewards you with a soldier for a mission or buy from the black market / hq, at the beginning you will still get rookies but the game doesn't force them to be the class of the pool
if you want there is a mod called "use my class" that forces pool soldiers to be promoted to their assigned class
>>
>>164227582

That was a hard-learned lesson but Sectoids should not be that high on any threat list. Especially from mid-game and on.

The game saves at the beginning of each turn if you're not playing on ironman. The worst case scenario is you have to replay your single latest turn.
>>
Alright /xcg/ I have a question for you.

I haven't played a full campaign since Alien Hunters and Shen's Last Gift came out and I've only completed a full campaign once shortly after release. I keep jumping back and forth between different mods, trying things out, and getting disappointed, deleting my saves, and starting over with new mods.

I have some quality of life mods already that I love, but I'm looking for some quality addon content to the game.

I currently have a campaign going with all of the Long War Studios mods enabled, but honestly I don't like the leader or perk packs. Though I do quite like the Long War Laser Pack, those weapons are fun to use. I haven't decided whether I like the alien pack or not. On one hand it's nice to have variety, but on the other hand when a new sub-type of unit unleashes some new bullshit ability on my unsuspecting troops it's kind of a pain in the ass. Hard to strategize when you don't know the enemy capabilities.
>>
So question, I really want to stealth it up but it sucks that by doing certain objectives or actions it breaks concealment. Is there a file I can edit or mod I can install to prevent this?
>>
>>164289038
You can regain concealment with rangers that are specialized for such activities. You can for example go in, complete an objective and get spotted, then regain concealment right away. Is this what you're looking for or not? I don't really understand.
>>
When is someone gonna give SPARKs some Long War love?

I'm not talking about the classes, I'm talking about seemingly obvious shit like Perk Pack style tree and a laser tier weapon.
>>
>>164289405
One of the reasons I'm considering uninstalling Perk Pack and Leader Pack. Makes troopers OP as fuck and SPARKs useless in mid-game.

On a side note, I'd love a new tier 2.5 armor set to go with the new laser weapons.
>>
>>164289318
I am looking for, if I play my cards right and sneak past all enemies, I should be able to do the objective, NOT break concealment, and proceed to evac. Your plan involves either doing a solo ranger or having all rangers with that ability or something.
>>
>>164288918
>I have a question for you
>literally doesn't ask a question
>>
>>164289567
Metal Over Meat, moddable DLC weapons a doctrine where the vanilla SPARK finds an important use (mobile cover and a heavy weapon platform) manage to ensure that in my games SPARKs are always useful.

Julian's wonderful voice helps as well.
>>
>>164289623
Ah, so basically you're looking for a mod that gets rid of the "eliminate all hostiles" objectives and enables you to hack objectives without revealing you? I guess the only challenge then would be moving in a hacker to complete the objective and avoid any patrolling or stationary guards within the 12 turn timer.
>>
>>164289808
From what I can see from my first few missions, Eliminate all hostiles is a "secondary" objective. If you get the VIP for example or blow up a relay, you can just evac. No need to kill all the enemies really from what I have seen.
>>
>>164289998
I don't think you get any corpses if you EVAC though, that would seriously cripple you if you do that often. Is what you are asking just make certain actions not break concealment, like hacking and shit? That would be really easy to mod I think
>>
>>164290076
If you complete the primary objective and evac on gorilla ops, you don't get the reward or the corpses, you only stop the dark event.

I think not getting the corpses would be a sufficient penalty desu.
>>
>>164289998
Any time you evacuate from a mission you don't get any loot on the map aside from what your troopers are carrying, such as weapon parts or elerium cores. The "eliminate hostiles" objective is as much of a primary objective as "hack the workstation" for example. As far as I know the game doesn't even count it as a successful mission if you leave an objective incomplete.
>>
>>164290207
>>164290201
>>164290076
But aren't reinforcements infinite? So how does one "Eliminate all hostiles"?
>>
>>164290496
>aren't reinforcements infinite?
No. Infinite reinforcements are only on special missions which do not have an "eliminate hostiles" objective, such as the Avenger defense mission where the goal is just to evacuate ASAP under a siege of enemy troops.

Guerrilla Ops and Retaliation Strikes for example do not have infinite reinforcements, and you MUST kill all aliens to win.
>>
>>164289038
>>164289623

Not exactly what you are asking for, but there are classes that specialize in killing and doing stuff without breaking concealment. Off the top of my head i recommend the Spec Ops class, get the LW version if you are using the LW perk pack.

True concealment is also a mod that should help immensely if you aren't using it already, there are probably other concealment stealth mods out there but i've never really looked into it.

Same setup as you (3XS system?), don't have much issues but when you pile on the mods you'll get serious loading stutter. The game also uses up a fuckload of RAM.

>>164290739
Hmm, I see. Then I think I have to do some personal tweaking on my end. I installed the Guerrilla War mod which some other anons suggested. I can trade out timers and have constant repeating reinforcements as a threat instead. Kill in stealth with the above mod. Then fulton the bodies. Just like my Metal Gears...even got the cosmetics and voice mods for it lol.

>>164290830
Do you mean this? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=618077830 IDK if this is a moot point when I am doing Guerrilla War mod and replacing the threat of timers with constant reinforcements if I fuck up the stealth portion.

Damage over time spells, that was the acronym we used when I was playing WoW, that was years ago though I don't know do people still use it or not. For XCOM 2 they're poison, acid and burning. These things normally hurt enemies every turn but for rulers they hurt them every time they make a move

It also stops some of their abilities iirc.

Either he is working with the LW team or he died.

I started to, but the game just gives me cruiseline terror missions and nothing else.
Apparently the developers were like, "Hey, you know that one mission that is the pretty much the only mandatory mission that you have to go on every month? Yeah lets make that more tedious and unfun because this game needs to be harder now." It's really draining, especially when you consider that terror missions were already a bit of a drag anyway once you've played x-com for awhile. I just want to go on some more underwater missions, which I thought was the point, but instead I'm stuck clearing out tightly packed, close quarters hell filled with unreasonable amounts of high explosives that take 60 seconds of animation time just to detonate. I already knew there it would be this way sorta, but I finally convinced myself perhaps it wasn't as bad as everyone said it was just to start playing it and boy is that wrong.

Most annoying ruler right there, I honestly got lucky with the fights against him, I would suggest using a ranger/stealth class to scout for him and when you spot him set up your troops for the fight, like keeping them separated so he can't do much damage with his pigeons but close enough to aid if they get grabbed

Definitely. The nerf makes it so shots against the beacon can't miss, but your mimic will tank at least a shot or two, maybe three if you're lucky. Assuming you haven't activated too many enemies that should absorb most if not all of the enemies attacks for the turn, which lets you clean up the next.

NEW YEAR, NEW CAMPAIGN, BITCHES

I played all the other shit I care about from 2016, the year of our lord. Dishonored 2 was good but more of the same, Titanfall 2 was good but only as good as a CoD shooter can be, XCOM2 was good but flawed in many ways, DOOM was god-tier, Banner Saga 2 was good, Flame in the Flood was good, Hyper Light Drifter was okay.

All these new exciting games, and all I can think while playing them is starting another story in XCOM: EW. Now that vidya is officially dead and the only thing I care about isn't coming out for 3 months, I can finally go back to my true love. No classes for months, weather is absolute shit, New Year's parties are over, holiday bonus is cashed. THIS is comfy. THIS is how you play XCOM, gents.
