The bad part of foglets is that a lot of times you won't benefit from your hero power which is not worth it for fucking 6 power.

First light thins your deck which increases the odds of drawing vital gold cards, plus after playing a rider you know that you will get a warrior, drowner, ancient or gryphon.

Yes, she is a close friend. When Geralt needed help with Ciri and considering he wasn't in a good relationship with Yen at the time, he called Triss to come to KM and help him. Just that goes to show he has trust in her, because not only would he not share Ciri's secrets with just anyone, but also not anyone can get invited to KM. It is also implied that Vesemir knows Triss from before, so she is fairly close to the witchers. They also have some pretty open discussions and Triss is not afraid to question his neutrality and challenge him.

Also when she gets sick later on, Geralt diligently takes care of her, carrying her to the woods to take a shit every 10 minutes, bathing her and stuff. He really does all he can to help her recover. Even when she tries to take advantage of the situation and comes on to him so desperately even Ciri and Yarpen get annoyed, Geralt still doesn't take it against her and tries to turn her down as gently as possible. here's a quote:

Later on when they meet at Thanedd Geralt shows her affection and goes against the procedure by kissing her cheek, with the whole situation even ending up annoying Yen to the point she had to have a "talk" with Triss. Later on however Triss she ends up saving his life by dragging him half dead and begging Tissaia to teleport him.

She was also there when he died among his closest people. Geralt and Triss are definitely good friends in the books.

Once you make a Potion/Oil/Bomb you won't have to make it again, every time you meditate if you have alcoholest in your inventory it will refill everything. Mutagens are related to the Character sheet and the crafting supplies is self explanatory

With Armor/Weapon crafting just do treasure hunt quest and find a set you like and upgrade it whenever possible

I'd recommend crafting Decoy, Milva and Eithné.
Toruviel is very good too. She can win you a lot of rounds if you also add Fireball traps, since people will think she is just another trap and pass when they are ahead, instead of playing and triggering it. Also great against those that don't do numbers.

Iorveth is the second best removal, first is Radovid. Is legendary and you may not want it, so don't worry.

So what level do you finish?

I'm now lvl 19 and in Novigrad. I've cleared most of the base map and done a hell of a lot of side quests except for a few areas which all seem to be lvl 25-28 plus there's a whole area in the north and north east that are all ??? level where I assume are 30+? The quest for Hearts of Stone recommends lvl 33 and I can only assume those areas are part of that. I have a lot of treasure hunts and contracts to do but they all seem high level.

I zoomed out and saw Skellige. I-is that really another entire land to explore? Because holy shit, this game is large.

What skills should I really invest in? I just realised I've not been spending my points at all and apart from packs of enemies, it's been pretty fucking easy as long as I put the right oils on my swords.

I've got 5/5 in Muscle memory(spent that in White Orchard) and basic cat gear. But 19 points to spend. I'm playing on Blood and Broken Bones btw. All my exploring has given me a shit load of enhanced and superior formulas and I have mats for a lot of them except for the alchemical substances. I cannot find the alcohols required. I need way more than a dozen of each and I've only found 2.

Dunno about that but the game gets progressively easier as you level up so it's really up to you. Personally I loved alchemy with a bit of signs mixed in but the whirl spam was pretty fun as well. It's been quite a while since I played though so I can't tell you the exact builds.

I assume you mean the specific stuff like mandrake and cherry cordial, in which case you have to buy those, they're usually sold at inns I think. All the other alcohol bases should be easy to get with general looting.

Yeah, you could try it out. There was an adrenaline build for whirl but I tested it before the expansions released so it probably got changed with some patches, maybe try reddit or the official forums for the specific and up to date build ideas.
