If I didn't have amiibo cards, I would take her, no question. That said, there are a few people here who scan villagers and give them away, you could just hold out until one of them come by. Fauna's really nice, but there are a lot of other cool villagers out there.

I picked HHD with the latest Best Buy deal and played a bit of it. You start off with barely anything, and each client gives you new items based on their tastes. Like Roscoe the black horse gives out black and white Sleek and Modern furniture and a maze wall/floor, among other things. By choosing which villagers to help - the game lets you read their thoughts beforehand to get an idea of what they want - you have a little say in what items you unlock first.

I've only just finished the School, so I don't know if you hit a brick wall where villagers just have redundant tastes in decorations or if there's an alternate way to unlock things. Pic related.

Unless you're like me and there's fucking more snow in real life then the is in animal crossing and the ground might as well have just been painted white by crazy people

So I got New Leaf for Christmas, and it's my first AC game. Now I work nights and sleep during the day, so when I get to play vidya tends to be the asscrack of the morning or late at night. So... this game is literally unplayable for me because everything's closed unless I change the time on my 3DS. That... is bullshit.

You can pick one of two Town Ordinances after you get a 100% approval rating. One makes shops open 3 hours earlier, the other makes shops stay open 3 hours later.

But if you're playing late hours, I'd recommend moving the clock (you can do it in-game without touching your 3DS clock) a few hours anyway, because it's depressing as fuck for it to always be night in the game.

i really don't have anything more than an idea, but i was thinking taking various aspects of earthbound and recreate it as best as i can in seperate rooms. it's been years since i last played earthbound and i'm probably due to replay it.

other than flying saucers, i thought i would recreate places like a forest with bad guys. thinking with the giant ant, i could attempt to make giant step with some patterns. another room i want to make is a desert scene based on the dunes you first traveled though, a fourside scene with a mother ship, and in the basement, i want to attempt guygas.

i wish there was a better way to accumulate saplings. Flowers and shrubs too but saplings especially.

I'm trying to make my town all pretty but it's so hard to visualize what I want to do to an area when there's other trees all over it. But I also don't want to clearcut my whole town and make it barren. The regrowth process would be so slow.

That's probably a good idea. I just don't want to get confused about which ones are fruit trees and which ones are regular trees.

My goal is to have a big pine forest on the northeast side of my town. Weaving through it is a hedge maze, and as it goes south it fades to regular trees.

There's a smaller pine forest in the northwest corner, too, and then there's a dedicated fruit orchard right next to it, just east of the train station. And that orchard swings around the smaller pine forest and travels down the west coast.

Shit I knew I could get flowers but I never thought about nabbing fruit, too. I already know I want apples (native oranges, then switched to persimmons, now it's cherries...I've cycled through a lot) but I can always grab more.

My only concern is that I'm not good at making paths. I always feel like the paths (the actual routes, not necessarily the patterns) I lay out seem too procedural, too rigid and unnatural. I'm a big fan of the natural dirt path aesthetic but lord knows how hard that is to get, especially in winter.

I just personally hate straying too far from the natural Animal Crossing aesthetic. I see people who coat their entire towns in patterns and it looks great, but man, I can't fathom the amount of work that goes into that. Not to mention the amount of pattern slots. Due to some factors outside of my control like lake placement it feels like my whole town is split into narrow channels, so planning all these forests and paths is a little hard. I'll probably have to demolish some PWPs as I get a better visual picture of what I want to have.

At least my haunted house is fucking choice. And Frankenstein's monster lives in a tent in those northwestern pine barrens.

I set up a really cute spot on the south cliff of my town where there's a bench, and as close as possible to the right of it is a streetlight, and it looks really nice but their placement (relative to some houses near it) is going to royally fuck any kind of pathwork I may want to lay down one day.

That's another reason why I prefer dirt paths, you can get really loosey goosy with them without it looking choppy or unfinished. Dirt pays no mind to obstacles.
