Why is this okay? There's no way for me to interact with her hand to stop her from spellcasting, and spells themselves give her plenty of draw power and cheap removal options for when I try and get things onto the field. The only thing that works on them is perfect curve with a face deck or a deck that plays similar levels of solitaire like PtP.

I really should just see it as that and move on. Something about this game just makes me incredibly angry at the drop of a hat in a way no other games have. I'm used to the 'If I lost it was my fault and I should change something' mentality to the point where if I lose I feel like it must have been a misplay on my end or my deck needing refinement. Aurelia is pretty standard across most sword decks. Olivia is a fun tech in some decks until you have other legendaries/golds to push it out. Moon is used in a good amount of haven decks, Fairy Princess is useless, and Bloody Mary is good for some Blood Decks but you need a solid dick and married to Lady Luck if you want to make that work consistently.

It's annoying but it's probably unavoidable. Defining strengths and weaknesses among crafts and options avoids homogenization and mitigates anything being way too good. The tournament format was probably built around the idea that deck match ups would be swingy.

I played a few card games competitively. MtG has a lot of really lopsided game 1 match ups mitigated by the sideboard but it doesn't really work well in this format, Yugioh's balancing is a complete mess, and Vanguard's tournament format was total shit where your day could end by running into the wrong match up with nothing to do about it.

Tia is pretty good and a staple on ANY good Forest deck, Tsubaki is a good tech card for Sword, Odin is a good tech card for control decks, Alexander is used on control Sword, Bloody Mary is sometimes used on control Blood but not very consistent, keep her around until the expansion hits just in case (they're helping control and mid-range blood with some cards), Al-Mi'raj sees 1~2 copies in Storm Haven, Rose Queen is a meme (but they are also addiding support for that next expansion) and Olivia is a good tech on some decks and used on almost every control list.
If you need the vials you can probably liquify Mary and Queen.
