In EVE only the trading/market is really and truly great. Industry and sov is good-tier at best, but I still see your point.
Different combat system is both a blessing and a curse, since fighting is ultimately "the end goal" of the game, and some people will dig a different system while other people will prefer this one.

There's only one major issue with this idea, and it's the first word of your suggestion.
Now I'm not bashing the company, I'm just saying that they'd have to develop two games with similar concepts at the same time. That's not gonna end well.
