That's the thing bruh. A lot of the people here (and, generally speaking, the people that play this game) fall into one of three categories.

1) New and still in the honeymoon phase because it's a stylish game and they've yet to discover that there's absolutely no substance beneath that style (or rather, it's a piss poor designed min viable product pile of shit)

2) autists who enjoy numbercrunching because if nothing else, the horrendous grind actually encourages this mentality--with the removal of 1-2 hour endless and the lowering of difficulty, the only real reason to obsessively minmax is to grind faster, unless you enjoy theory crafting, and the latter is pointless given that lack of originality and the homogeneity of builds

2.5) poorfags who can't afford a better game and have been playing the same game for 2-3 years, because ultimately, with enough time invested, you can get to the top and acquire everything and letting go of that time investment sucks

3) casualfags who are grown-ass adults with real jobs who don't have the time to grind 5 hours a day, but do have the money to drop and avoid the grind while still enjoying the mindless comfy of certain aspects of the game

DE has somehow lucked out and carved out a niche by creating the skeleton of a game that plays different from any other game, and kept it alive by stealing interesting aspects of more interesting games, while still managing to make it appeal to the core demography of ftp games.

They've really jumped the shark this month though. Guess plat sales have been down recently. Pushing Valk, frost/ember unvaults, rifle/SG/pistol rivens, a half baked quest for Nidus, and making the new clantech gear effectively almost unattainable via standard crafting for most inactive clans, it reeks of desperation tbqh

Need help lads

Struggling with the decision to buy Nidus. I've never bought a regular frame before, not even Ivara who took me 100+ Spy runs. But the grind for Nidus is SO BAD, need ~13 runs average to finish him, already did 2 runs and didn't get a single part.

But this is likely what DE wanted: a really shitty grind so players are forced to buy him. If I buy him, I'm skipping the grind, but I'm playing straight into DE's hands and promoting their shitty business practices.

On the other hand, I've never spent money on this game, and I have so much plat I will never actually give DE money.

Need help from the esteemed philosophers on /wfg/. A bigger moral quandary than deciding whether to drop the nuke of Hiroshima

Prime grind: instead of keys, we have relics. It's not hard to acquire relics if you play the right endless, but DE has arbitrarily moved/restricted certain relics to late rotations to increase grind, while diluting rewards with garbage.

If you have relics, you can slightly stack the deck in your favour with "void traces"

You have to grind traces. Grind relics so you can grind traces, so you can grind primes.

A new mastery fodder weapon requires a unique drop from a rare spawn enemy, said unique drop is worthless after you've crafted the weapon and has no real reason to exist.

Last update added a new clantech gun. Mutagen sample research reqs are over 1000% higher than the combined mutagen reqs of all other preceding clan tech.

More arbitrary resources that are gated by time/decay/alert, in ever increasing amounts.

Sabitage. Void if you know loot rooms since they have fairly linear design. Corpus is decent too. Avoid Uranus because it has multi leveled tiers and is a pain in the ass.

Caches appear on minimap as containers. Equip loot detector, animal instinct, expand minimap. Destroy any loot icons you see. If you can't destroy it, it's a cache. Equip ember if you're feeling lazy and can't be fucked to kill stuff while treasure hunting. Ignis + range lets you get stuff further away through walls for more lazy. Also works for syndicate medallion hunting.

Inflated numbers. It's free to play with a steep learning curve (lol) if only due to poor user interface, lack of instruction, and overly convoluted mechanics. The vast majority of those "50k" never leave mercury, never craft another warframe or set of weapons, etc

Positive feedback exists because it's a stylish game that is entertaining for the first month for the people willing to take 10 minutes to look at the wiki. Also shilling.

The game is a shining example of minimum viable product, but has against all odds managed to come up with a formula that hooks whales into shelling out $$$$ for basically nothing.

The game is a skinner box that gets people addicted. It sucks in new players with it's free price tag and "good" looking graphics. The game will be fun for the first few hours which is usually when people write their reviews, but the longer you play the more hollow of an experience you get. The whole game is repetition spread out and separated by grind walls. Once you realize you have no reason to play, you will still login due to denial that all the hours of work you put into this game must be worth something or that the next update will make you enjoy the game again the way you remember it used to be, but it is all the same and it is just a time/money sink.

If you stopped playing due to a lack of fun, you wont find it. If not you will feel dead inside after a while

Despite what TQ tries to tell you, there's more than one way to build frost, and his 2, 3, and 4 are all pretty good. You'd be better served reading the wiki and getting an understanding of how the variables interact with each other and then actually playing and testing your builds in actual practice, rather than what theoretical wiki warriors and simulacrum heroes tell you.

Some general guidelines:
His 2 with aug + duration + range gives you fuckhueg are control/slow and doesn't restrict you to one spot
His 3 with or without aug is solid for ranged def, but not really the HURRDURR MUST HAVE given how many frames can be built for complete area denial spammable CC. Hallmark of a pubshitter is a frost who spams unneeded bubbles without popping them and fucks over his teammates trying to rain down explosive death.
4 is decent area CC cum the ironskin/anti stagger with aug.

TQs guide isn't bad, but his inflexibility and generally dogmatic approach will limit you and the amount of fun you will have. His builds are an okay starting point but that's about it.

his rankings and remarks are worthless because a) no endgame content that requires any degree of extreme minmaxing currently exists anymore, and b) while there are differences in ability between frames, properly built, such differences arent particularly egregious enough. A good player can still easily solo sorties 1-3 with any of the "bad" frames he's listed, making such distinctions meaningless. Tbh though, while there are a lot of decent players posting on wfg, there are a lot of retarded shitters as well so it's a moot point

That's certainly the most popular build, but given that endless is no longer a thing, globe centrific builds are not even remotely necessary anymore, and builds that center around his 2 or 4 that completely disregard globing are equally effective given how easy the game has become.
