Alright, somebody fucking explain this to me.

I play Azure Drake, so I've got the +1 spell damage. I then play Fandral, giving me both options for choose-one cards. I then play Wrath, which either does 1 damage or 3 damage normally, but with +1 spell damage does 2 damage or 4 damage, but with Fandral should do 6 damage total, right? But it only does 5 damage.

What's not working out here?

Actually as weird as it sounds, Tempo Mage does pretty well in this meta. Since there is so much aggro, I just cut every useless card one used to play for control value and run double Mirror Image and double Arcane Explosion.

Great deck to run if you can't afford Gadgetzan cards, I can't personally. The only card I can see myself running is the Volcanic Potion anyway.

Play more shit. Especially high hp taunts - they usually only have one sap and slamming their minions against your minions is counter-productive for them. Also, more hp means they need to use up more spells, so there's a good chance they will run out, since the only damage effects they have are 2x backstab, 2x eviscerate, 2x SI:7, 2x FOK, 1x shadow strike and whatever they burgle from you.

Warlock got some elder god tier arena cards this expansion while mage lost several with the recent nerf.
And Warlock was never bad in arena. Just that mage was insanely good and Rogue great. Even before the nerfs I had several arena runs where I could easily make a construct tier Zoo and aggro my way up to +10 wins. Abyssal now just pushed him up.

Reno is not the end of the game. At least not always (for rogue). Recently I bursted some guy down the next turn after he Reno'd.
Edwin did 18, Leeroy 10, Auctioneer 4 and the last 3 points (guy had 1 point of armor) was from a sinister strike I discovered from an idol I burgled off him.

Look at patches. Rogues can play swashburglar, bucaneer or deckhand on t1 to pull him. 4 draws on t1 means you roll that 1 in 5 chance of drawing one of them 4 times (someone work out the odds on that)

That tremendously powerful opener, thinning the deck of a 1 drop to make your draws better, and following up with a weapon on t2 with hero power, its ridiculously consistent

I've been trying to make different varia ta of Nzoth Paladin work, but the existence of Kazakus and sheep potions just shuts you down completely. Plus the persistent problem of your only board clears being two card combos is still making life miserable against pirate shitters.

Control Paladin is probably dead and will remain dead for the remainder of the expansion.

The equation you're looking for is in Hypergeometric calculation. It's fancy math that allows you to find the probablity of finding either a success or failure in a population with a finite number and a given number of selection chances. Learned about it when I was toying around with Finder's Keepers as a viable way to get another board clear in Shaman (42.3% chance to get either lightning storm or elemental destruction and a 38% chance to get either specifically for those interested) I'll save you the math and suffice it to say if you're playing rogue with Swashburglar, Buccaneer and Deckhand at 2, and you mulligan all cards in your hand to look for them, and count the draw, your odds are:

1st: 82.9% chance to draw AT LEAST one
2nd: 90.8% chance to draw AT LEAST one

you might hit a "bad streak" but know that the odds to get one by just hard mulligan are always in your favor.

Before MSG, I was averaging like a 6. About one in two runs would go 7+. Similar results in the first few runs of MSG, even got a 12. But the last few days, I've had nothing but 1 to 4 win runs, some with really good decks too.

Theres no point in playing MTG.

MTG at this point is just a bottomless money sink that players dont want to acknowledge.

You need to spend hundreds of dollars every couple of months to keep up with MTG, and the game is just not even that popular anymore.

At least with HS, the expansions are spread out so far that that you have a chance to collect some free packs and enjoy playing somewhat competitively. Sure, not Legend, but enough to have fun.

And Hearthstone's record and reputation has proved it will last longer than MTG, so money thrown at it means longterm reliability and playability.
