Back then it was Maplestory.
I liked it because of the grind. The closest I can compare it to is a runner's high. I just forgot about everything and so focused on grinding which helped me relax.
I don't play anymore. The p2w gacha killed it for me.
Yes it did. Cash shop wasn't focused on cosmetics anymore. First were protection scrolls then they made enchanting overly complicated.

Now I play Wakfu.
I like it because it's comfy. There's always something to do from leveling professions, grinding for levels or equipment or trying to make some money.
I still play.
The game is now full of bugs. The staff is incompetent. They trick players or straight up lie in their face into spending money for broken features without fixing or refunding them.

And just because a few people decided to multi client doesn't mean everyone is doing it. It doesn't remove the multiplayer in mmo. In fact, in the 4 years I played Wakfu the only people that multi client are people that wanted to fill filler slots.

Because it hits twice, makes stacking combos waaaaay quicker.
Plus I was planning on breaking it since I have a +12 Ice Spear for the crit, it reached +13 without breaking so it's stronger than the Ice Spear.

Another thing, this was 2 years ago without the nerfed enhancements and the liberation weapons wasn't out.

I did get to max level though, and it was still impossible for me to do anything because everybody was either AFK at auction houses or already off doing dungeons/raids. I played EQ from about 2003-2013 and eventually quit because it started going downhill.

The way EQ was originally, it's more about the experience you have and the sense of awe and wonder that I liked. In WoW I hardly even noticed any of my surroundings because it was all about how fast I could get to the end game. What's the point of even having any levels at all if you just need to try and get to end game as fast as possible?

Take Crowfall, for example. There's no level system because the entire game is "end game". If 90% of the content in WoW is at the end game then why waste time and effort on the other 10%?

That's true for most MMOs so i don't know what you are trying to say. The very core systems of the games are nothing alike, DDO uses actual rules from DnD to govern it.

Just look at the classes alone, you can multiclass up to 3 times, classes have alignment restrictions, you have a base attack bonus that determines your attacks per round based on your classes. Everything is based around the dice system and uses dice for all things as DnD does. Your skill points are based on your INT modifier and class when you gain a level in that class, It uses the actual feat system instead of a standard mmo skilltree called the feat system, you can do pretty much anything you want with your character customization wise in this system, for instance if you want to make a character that uses Kukris, you take the exotic weapon proficiency feat to be able to use them after you have the ability score and skill requirements at a level up. Spellcasters have actual spell DCs based on the stats.

And that's just the base class system if you want to keep going more in depth we can. If you want to start breaking down things like the spellcasting system and meta magic and all the other things from DnD that neverwinter doesn't do we can.

If you mean light fury, it's pretty much unusable right now and is easily the worst class in the game (the only time eyedentity has ever been based in years)

It's not that no one needed it, but they changed pretty much all of the party buffs to be self buff only except for the level 34 base tree skills, so now fast forward only affects the sorceress herself.

In an effort to better class variety in raids, they have steadily turned every class into a generic dps class no different than how vindictus handles it. Even saint and guardian shit out damage now.
