he detects you by your fear and noise. the quieter and calmer you are, the harder it is to find you.

try to move slow more often so you make less noise so its harder for him to sense you.

walk or crouch instead of run.

fix stuff but making mistakes during the process makes noise he can hear.

try to lose him in cabins, he can't go through windows

keep your light on and try to find other counselors

barricade a door and open windows to escape.

two story window jumps will injure you and hobble you a bit.

lock doors when you set a bear trap so other couselors don't step on it.

the gun stuns Jason on hit but ONLY ONE BULLET

pocket knives help insta-escape grabs

the radio pings his sense but it masks you in the cabin and makes hiding easier. lock the front door, open a window or the back door, turn on the radio and hide. Jason will probably bust down the door kill the radio, briefly search the cabin, see the open window/back door, and leave because he only has so much time to kill you all. good composure and you can avoid detection. or he might be meticulous and look everywhere....

pay attention to your character's stats. the black girl is shit at hiding but can run like a motherfucker. Jenny and AJ are good at hiding but if Jason catches you alone you are fucked. Deborah is better fixing the car/phone lines. Chad has good speed and stealth and max luck but garbo composure, Kenny is an all arounder. they all have different roles.

of course you could just have shit luck regardless.

F13 Camper Tips and Tricks:
-Use mouse for optimal head swivel action
-Keep head on a swivel
-Press X to toggle snail walk and jogging
-Press M to open the map
-Press C to enter combat mode, you can fight Jason
-Sprint only when Jason is about to grab dat ass
-Ration that stamina, if you have a good lead on Jason, don't be afraid to enter sneak mode to regen stamina
-Entered a house? Open all the windows and lock/barricade all the doors
-Jason can't enter windows
-You take damage from broken windows
-Shift-E to jump out of windows
-Hit E twice when opening doors to slam those bitches open
-You can sprint open doors
-Team up with other campers, worst case scenario you might be able to stun him
-The signature F13 "ha ha ha" means Jason just teleported
-Fear increases chance of getting spotted by Jason's Sense
-Exiting the window on the second floor results in taking damage
-Do not ram Jason with a car he is an immovable object
-A dead player can respawn as a local hunter armed with a one-shot shotgun if the CB radio is used
-Try to always put a beartrap near the doors, so when Jason enters he will get trapped instantly
-The police always show up in either the NW or NE entrance on the highway
-Using a flare gun while Jason is nearby will mark his position on the map for a while
-He can listen to you talking to others, if you are carrying a radio and someone else speaks through it he WILL hear that as well
-You can drop both inventory items and repair tools, so if you are carrying keys and you are fucked, drop them by the car
-Blunt weapons are useful, you can stun Jason and buy yourself some time

It may very well be the case that some games you simply cannot kill Jason because the special loot that spawns there just doesn't appear due to RNG.

Nothing, F13 is shit. Playing survivors is a chore and requires no skill or thinking. You just slowly stumble from one cabin to another hoping your fear meter isn't too high. Then Jason teleports in your face and you are dead because nothing works in this garbage. Combat doesn't work so Jason can simply grab you mid-swing, breaking free doesn't work unless you have a pocket knife, hiding is pointless since your character will scream when Jason is nearby and he can see you hiding in closets and under beds with his sense.

Yeah, until you find a dead body or spawn alone. Then your fear meter will rise and Jason will be able to see you perfectly clear. I'm not even talking about Vanessa players that are so loud, Jason can see them from another planet. They create a lot of noise and then Jason comes in to check what's going on.

Chases look dumb. Jason slowly jogs behind you in a retarded fashion while you can't run for your life longer than 10 seconds.Then he grabs you and you're dead. You can jump in the water but Jason will shift in your direction and grab you instantly.

F13 is only remotely fun when you play as Jason, but I don't really find that too exciting. Killing is too easy and requires you simply to teleport to a red glowing auras.

I get it, they want Jason to be very powerful and dangerous like he is in the movies. But it's a game that is supposed to be fun for both sides. For now, it's only somewhat entertaining for the killer.

It's really sad because the game has potential. It looks good visually, characters look good, mechanics are fun on the paper... But everything falls apart and nothing really works in the way it was supposed to. I hope they will balance the game because for now I have more fun chasing dumb fucks through retarded pallet towns and starting generators.

As a killer, camping survivors you've hooked is usually considered poor form (of course, sometimes the other survivors don't even give you a chance to leave before they show up for a rescue). It's considered polite not to constantly bear down on the same player when you have the choice of multiple targets, but not really a requirement.

As a survivor, teabagging and "infiniting" (repeatedly jumping through one or a few close-by windows over and over in relatively safety because the killers lack the agility to stop you unless you seriously fuck up) are considered to be in poor form. Many killers also consider camping one pallet after another in succession (i.e., running to one pallet, waiting in safety for the killer to get close, throwing the pallet down and running to the next before the killer can catch up) to be rude, but this is still a widespread practice so I don't know if the community at large considers it poor sportsmanship.

Yes, it works. He can only grab you mid swing if you use slow weapons. You can dodge his grab attemps just fine by side stepping/back stepping or doing 180.

Plus you're making it sound as if there is no way to dodge his grab attempts. He can only shift if he didn't used his ability previously. Jumping in water is the last resort. If you jump when he can shift, then you're stupid.
Also, it sounds as if you're trying to escape/fight him alone. You don't do that. It's not dbd where lone survivors can 1v1 killer just fine. Work as a team.

Thing is, you'll run out of stamina very quickly. And your fear meter will reach maximum because Jason is behind you, thus making you perfectly visible with his sense. Not only that, but your character will stumble if your fear is too high. It's only a matter of time that he catches you. You can just prolong your life for maybe 30 seconds.

And what's even worse, chases are so boring in this game. They are so slow. It's like a fat dude is trying to catch a person with asthma. When I see Jason chasing someone it looks very dumb. Also, maybe it's just me but Jason dissapearing in front of your face is kinda weird. Is he a wizard?

So I finally got a beta key and spent most of yesterday night and evening playing F13. Holy shit, this game is bad. And I know it's just a beta, I know things like the AWFUL animations and shit could potentially be fixed by release (though they probably won't be), but the game is so flawed on a fundamental level that I can't imagine this final release being much better. Anybody saying this game is great is just doing so out of spite for DBD. And don't get me wrong, I fully understand why people are spiteful against DBD. But F13 is not the savior you wanted.

For as much as we complain about jukes and palettes, the chase game is far superior in DBD. There is an actual chance of escaping the killer and there is an actual stealth element to it.

If there's one thing DBD should take from F13, it's the breakable vaults.

I've said numerous times that killers should have the ability to break vault points that either slow down the vault ability or damage the survivors.
