first off you'll want to put a not-shit scope on your G36! literally anything is better than 1.0% extra headshot damage. Second off it's not so much about stacking insane amounts of firearms as much as it is Stamina > Firearms > Electronics, for most DPS builds. Which is, to say, two firearm pieces + four stamina pieces. Lots of armor. Damage to elites on like, two pieces.

Nomad is pretty shit of a set for various reasons, unfortunately. Some good sets include Alphabridge for DPS, uh... that's... really it, as far as I've seen. Typically. Your skill power isn't too big of an issue but I don't know what the fuck you non-skillpower folk actually do in life, and this is coming from a meme-tastic Tactician

I play both and honestly haven't touched destiny in over a month even with SRL on going.

In fact it was shit posting about The Division in /dg/ that brought me back to the division. Have had a blast over the past 5 weeks. Whole the division isn't perfect it certainly has come a long way since release. Especially survival dlc. Man it's fun as hell.

Hey guys, just got the game this week and I got some newbie questions.

The weapon balancing is always in fluctuation with each update. At release Smg was king of the Hill. 1.4 LMGs were. 1.5 seems the LVAO-C is king. LMGs are still viable even in challenging mode though.

Okay so I stopped playing this game before incursions were implemented and I'm looking to jump back in after hearing some good things.

Is the DLC something I need to buy in order to get the best gear or am I good to go with just the base game? My gear right now is the standard crit stacking vector and m1a bullshit that everyone was using back when the game first released. I'm assuming (hoping) that more of the weapons are actually viable now but I'm not sure if I should just jump in and get grinding or if I need the DLCs to even get drops that are worth keeping.

Dunno how Warframe grinding is but probably not. You can farm gear rather easy as they frop from literally everywhere.

No. DZ is just the pvp zone. when you are in DZ you can loot up to 9 items and then youll have to call in for a chopper that will extract your items, your already used loot doesnt drop, only the "contaminated" items drop if you get killed.

After you hit 30 you can do missions in hard and challenging modes, do incursions (which is like a bit harder missions), do underground runs for loot (if you have underground DLC) do survival runs for loot and FUN (if you have the survival DLC), do DZ (its kind of broken and ganksquads may ruin your fun) do bounty hunting (you take several missions from safe houses and do shit for intel, then you use the intel currency to "buy" bounties and then you go kill them daily and/or weekly)

you can get loot from anywhere. Quality of loot changes with your WT (World Tier) you will get the same item level loot from everywhere even in DZ

there are contaminated ares which are different. they are usually red everywhere and you need a certain filter level (you can upgrade your filter level from BoO)

DZ is just for pvp, there are faster ways to get loot and level. if you want to team up with people and ruing other people's fun, do DZ, otherwise, stay away from it.

There are no "best talents" for leveling. It all depends on your play style and what happens. Are you low on health a lot? Look in the medical tree? Are you suppressing a lot? Look into the security tree.

My second character I have taken the talents I will need for my build once 30.

Depends on what you are extracting. You can get regular items you can get in pve in the dark zone and see their stats. You can get named weapons and see their stats. Any caches you find need to be extracted to see what's in them.

Like another anon said the dark zone isn't what it use to be. Unless you REALLY want the dark zone only named weapons there really is no point going in there outside of the daily weekly assignments. The reward just isn't worth the risk especially since pve is usually faster to get gear.

It is no where near as grindy as Warframe. I would put it just below Diablo 3 in terms of how grindy it is. It isn't bad, but there is worse out there.

The dark zone is trivial these days so no real need to go in there.

At 30 you open up the DLC's underground and survival. You also open daily assignments, weekly assignments, hard mode on all missions and challenge mode on some missions, as well as at incursions. You also unlock the world tiers 1-5 which is based on gear score This is just PvE.

It is in general a good idea, to decide which type of build you want to use once you get into world tier 5. Prior to that everything is viable even on hard mode missions. Once in 5 though the options begin to narrow down. Group play? Solo challenge mode? Support role? Thats when you will start to fine tune your weapons, gear, abilities, and such.

Its on sale and even without the DLCs a solid investment at 30 bucks. And between the two DLCs, I've had a ton more fun in Survival than Underground.

Survival mode is and it isn't. It definitely isn't "new player" friendly but it's not like people at 256 are going to have it any easier. Everyone goes in with basic equipment and a pistol. It's up to you how long you survive / complete the objectives.

There is a pve and pvp survival mode. Only available at 30.

You get placed at a random location on the map. The entire map is available save for the base of operations and the missions. You're goal is to survive. You need to scavenge for clothing, weapons, components, food, water, and medicine.

You are infected with sepsis. You have an hour to live/extract but you can delay that hour with medicine and pain killers. Any components you find, you have to decide between armor, appearance clothing (which gives you a cold rating) and objective items like virus filters and a flare gun.

There are roaming npcs that get strong the closer to the dark zone/ in the dark zone. There are hideouts everywhere you can dip into to warm up and craft. There are fire cans everywhere to warm up, even some you can ignore it. There are fires burning throughout the city.

Everything is loot able among all players in that survival mode instance aka you can tell of someone has been thrive an alley or a building if nothing can be looted.

Enemies typically drop consumables, green and blue gear.

its all about making the build. Unlike diablo (where some builds are stronger than any other build for an entire season) division does gearing up very well and meta builds are actually diverse.

currently the only "weak" builds are smg and shotgun builds and even then, you can use smgs with the new set which lets you use SMG type weapons with your ballistic shield

Yes, I was alone, it is best to do Survival alone. If you are with 2 or more you will have to share all the things you find, food, water, gear, etc... It is better to do survival alone. Took me 1u and 28 minutes from start 'till ending, got 11 caches, nice feeling always to complete survival.

yes, but not quite as much as it used to be. and if you're still finding enemies take too many bullets, that means your gear is too low for the difficulty you're attempting. before you try moving up to a harder tier, you should min/max your gear for best performance. if you try to jump straight to the hardest, you're gonna have a bad time.

as for DZ, don't bother unless you have a dedicated group of friends. trying to pug usually(not always) ends with bad results, and trying to solo is damn near impossible. if you have 3 friends that will work together and cover each other, go for it. just know that DZ gearing is a lot slower than doing underground, incursions, or hard mode dungeons.

if you want to group up for some content, leave your uplay ID and I'll give you an add. I play on and off throughout the day, whenever I'm not playing rocket league or watch dogs 2.

Depends. Usually a couple of days. You can actually hit max level faster but leveling experience gets broing towards to end so peopel start levleing a bit slower after they hit 20. The thing is, you need to do the events scattered around the map to get the skills and such and there are a lot of them and that takes a bit time but yea a couple of days and you can hit endgame.

I really like this game, but i have massive performance issues...
About 30 minutes into the game i get framedrops and extreme stuttering to a point where i cant even run straight.

I have the same issue with an i5-6500 and a 1060. Disabling any/all in-game overlays helped a lot, and now I barely have performance issues and can run it on at a mostly steady 60 on high/near max settings. So I came back for survival mode and it's definitely fun. My main problem is getting gear and guns.

Last time I spent 3/4 of my time trying to get out of green gear.

I was at a huge disadvantage as I spawned next to a 4 man group that took everything in every shelter I could find as well as killing NPCs.

I eventually just said fuck it after getting a blue ACR and some blue armor crafted and rushed the DZ. Ran to an evac with 2 dead players with 10 minutes left until the disease killed me.

Looted their guns and armor and kitted myself up with the 2 or 3 pieces of gold armor and guns and called the evac. Hunter destroyed me because I was running heal/shield.

I think this time I'm going to focus on unlocking turret, seeker bomb, and use heal up until I get to the DZ. That's seems the best way to kill the hunter quickly.

If I start to come across looted areas I will go the opposite way or run a few streets over and run parallel.

Having a really good understanding of the map and where buildings you can enter is a huge advantage.

I just spent almost the full hour getting geared up to full purples and the right skills to fight the hunter.

So I go up to a extraction zone that has some golds lying on the ground only to get rushed behind cover by somebody else's hunter as soon as I get inside the zone.

Didn't get to use my medkits to get up or anything because of the instakill animation.

Then the guy the hunter belonged to comes up and takes my shit while I had a minute of life to be revived.

Hope the one gold cache I had was worth it.

I'm stuck at the Napalm Factory.Still can't survive starting the detonation.

I tried to hide behind the truck but iit does very little to stop the flames.

When I came back during 1.4 I went from 163 gear score, to 223, then 1.5 patch hit and I made 256 within 2 days.

The content is there. Sometimes the world tier transition is a bit rough but it really doesn't take long to gear up at all. Especially with survival. Set it to world tier 5 and the caches you get should be 256 inside.

relatively new player here (40hour-ish) but for me dark zone is one of the best place to go if you wanna farm good loot

i just get to tier1 world and all small cache in DZ is 1:2 blue to purple ratio and all big cache (one you get from contaminated area) is guaranteed gold

the bad side is now almost everyone you see might shoot you, i run with seeker mines + scrambler pulse and switch scrambler to turret when im about to fight

also i feel smg is better for agents compared to AR, slap extended mag and get close when hes bleeding from seeker mines.

also i love underground because it pamper my autistic tendencies of imagining the agent being a Stargate ground team ready to fuck some shit up.
