What's wrong with that as a concept, assuming it is just changing the systems so that new players and vets have to relearn the game in the same way? Skilled players would still pull ahead, it just means skilled players from other games could get into it and stand a chance since they would be at a similar starting point.

The characters were neat and I was actually starting to get kinda attached to Dauntless and Talos.

Birdie Urien is 10-0
Rashid Urien is 10-0

Against birdie, the only time urien can get damage is if he blocks the armor charge at close range or if he neutral jumps a dolphin dive. As long as the birdie isn't a complete idiot trying to spam these moves, there is nothing urien can do in neutral. Any jump in will get beaten by the cr.mp, any attempt to press buttons will get counterhit by birdie's bigger blacker normals or blocked. If urien tries to walk backwards out of the range of birdie's normals, he has to walk himself all the way to half screen, and into the corner within 10 seconds.

Against rashid, once rashid gets in urien cannot press buttons ever. Rashid's frametrap rushdown forward momentum is endless, there are no brakes on this rape train. There are no gaps in his strings longer then the startup of moves that he is in range to be hit by at that time.
